Well, I am not so certain about all this overtly exagerrated pro shia propaganda. Alewites in Syria (or let us say the ruling elite and their lackeys) are making thweir marks left on the population and in fact the entire country. Hezbollah the last time I checked, was mentioned as a major sponsor of terrorism in the region by the U.S. state department(rightfully or not is another story). Iran is an established state involved actively in persecution of its own people(sunnis, bahais, jews, seculars, various ethnicities, which had its own share of citizen disgruntlement suppressed violently by the goons and thugs backed by shia establishment. so this rosy picture about shia democracy and their desire to “engage” with others, puzzles me the most. The extremist Mahdi militia headed by none other than Moqtada Al Sadr is still politically active (though admittedly disarmed). So let us have a fair picture and call extremists, well extremists, regardless their sects.
