Pakistani author Ayesha Siddiqa prepares to address a press conference in Islamabad, 31 May 2007. The respected Pakistani author accused the government of attempting to ban the launch of her book”Military Inc: Inside Pakistan’s Military Economy,” on how the powerful military has penetrated the country’s economy. Siddiqa said that the book was due to be launched at a conference hall in a government-run club which has had instructions from the top to cancel the reservation.
