Pakistan to be Rwanda: Through Ahmed Ludhianvi, Najam Sethi and Raza Rumi’s call for Shia holocaust – by Mahpara Qalandar
Editor’s note: I am at great pain to publish this article. I have always had great regard for Raza Rumi and Najam Sethi. This interview with Ahmed Lidhanvi Deobandi has no news value whatsoever. It does not cross-question any of the claims of a known terrorist. Therefore it can only be seen as humanizing and promotion of terrorism. The claims by the terror leader are dissected below. The media in Pakistan led by Mr. Sethi should be calling for enforcing the ban on hate groups rather than promoting them. How can the Shia or Sunni Brelvi or Christians or minorities in Pakistan negotiate or have dialogue with those Takfiri Deobandi militants (accounting for less than 1 percent of the population) who consider their religious duty to raise mobs with kafir kafir slogan burn their homes and kill them? Why are these Takfiri Militant proxies of the Pakistan Army protected by the “liberal media”? How can Mr. Sethi and Mr. Rumi not see a distinction between all religions claiming their’s is the only path to heaven and hateful mobs organized to kill under the slogan of kafir kafir?
****************
As if the present Shia genocide in which 21,000 Shias have been mercilessly killed by the ASWJ-LeJ (banned Sipah-e-Sahaba) was not enough, Najam Sethi, the owner-Chief Editor of the weekly The Friday Times, and Raza Rumi, the Editor of the same weekly, have come up with a fitna which is an open call to the Takfiris to kill each individual Shia of Pakistan. In an unprecedented move, which has so far been carried out by the Takfiri Urdu media and shunned by the English language media, they have published an interview with Mullah Ahmad Ludhianvi who being the president of ASWJ/LeJ is one of the main architects of the Shia genocide in Pakistan. In the interview published in the present issue of The Friday Times, Mullah Ahmad Ludhianvi is allowed to spew extreme hate speech against the Shias. He is allowed to openly call for their wholesale destruction. The complete interview is available at: http://www.thefridaytimes.com/beta3/tft/article.php?issue=20130315&page=5.
Below we will quote and analyze Ludhianvi’s statements which Najam Sethi and Raza Rumi found too innocuous to censor:
Ludhianvi’s statement: “Sectarianism has nothing to do with the ongoing wave of terrorism in Pakistan. Whatever has happened in Quetta or Karachi has nothing to do with the differences between Shias and Sunnis.”
Comment: He is lying in his teeth. After every act of violence, LeJ has proudly claimed that it was behind the Shia killing. They send video messages saying that Shias are Kafir who must be killed.
Here is a copy of the ASWJ/LeJ fatwa against the Shias:
Here is an infamous LeJ declaration wnhich says that they will make Pakistan another Karabala for the Shias, shich means all the Shias will be killed:
Mullah Aurengzeb Farooqi, the head of ASWJ/LeJ in Sindh, has openly declared that he will make Karachi hell for the Shias. Here is a video clip of his interview:
http://youtu.be/UonOQ1LPt0A
Here is the video of the Shia killing by LeJ terrorists:
http://youtu.be/MVmMSX9o5HM
Mallik Ishaq, the vice president of ASWJ/LEJ, proudly claims that he has killed scores of Shias and whose crimes have been proven in courts is the vice president of ASWJ/LeJ. Here is a video in which he talks about his resolve to destroy the Shias:
http://youtu.be/hWBhSMtIcsw
Here is Mullah Ludhianvi himself sharing with his associates that ASWJ is simply a front for his terrorist activities:
https://vimeo.com/58738710
Ludhianvi’s statement: “In 2012, more than 600 ASWJ workers were killed. We remained peaceful. Some people were arrested and they confessed that they were Shia and trained and funded by Iran. Moreover, foreign agents of the US, India, Israel and Blackwater are roaming freely in Pakistan, making conspiracies against the country.”
Comment: A shameless lie! He does not offer a single shred of evidence. Reports of Human Rights Watch and Asian Human Rights Commission have persistently said that it is the Shias who have been the non-stop target of the assassins of ASWJ/LeJ. There is no proof that any Takfiri terrorist of ASWJ/LeJ has been killed. The Takfiri terrorists kill the Shias with impunity and comfortably walked away because they are protected by the Army. Here are links to Human Rights Watch and Asian Human Rights Commission reports on the Shia genocide:

By involving the US, India, Israel, and Blackwater in the present situation of Pakistan, which is actually the result of the Islamofascist ideology of Saudi Arabia and its execution by the Pakistan Army, he is trying to bracket the Shias with these country which are known as enemies in Pakistan. Thus, the implication of the statement is that the friends of Israel, India, and Blackwater must be killed.
Friday times could at least have asked how many of the 600 “shaheed” were suicide bombers that killed thousands.
Ludhianvi’s statement: “Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir is just a slogan, like any other, such as Roti, Kapra aur Makaan [Food, clothing, and Shelter].”
Comment: Any political slogan like “Food, clothing, and Shelter” is reflective of people’s wished. By equating a political slogan with “Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir,” Ludhianvi makes it clear that it is not a dangerous or even morally reprehensible thing to declare that Shias are Kafir. Everyone, even non-Muslims, knows what it means to dub someone Kafir in Pakistan. You declare someone a Kafir and the next move is that you must kill them. This is what has been happening in Pakistan not just with the Shias, but with the Ahmadis and the Christians too..
Takfir and slogans of Takfir is in of themselves license to kill for an Islamofacist. Friday times is giving it legitimacy under the veil of liberal discourse and misleading the public.
Ludhianvi’s statement: “We call Shias Kafir on the basis of a unanimous edict issued by highly reputable jurists of Deoband.”
Comment: Who are these “reputable jurists”? Who have given them authority to apostatize the Shias? On what basis have they done do? What if highly reputable Shia, Brelvi, or even Ahmadi jurists issue fatwas calling Deobandis Kafirs? From the Koranic point of view, no human is allowed to declare another human being a Kafir. Can Ludhianvi or any other Deobandi ‘scholar’ prove that the Koran allows apostatizing of anyone on any grounds? We challenge them to prove us wrong.
The reader is encouraged to read the entire interview.
This is not the first time that Najam Sethi has played his part in the demonization of the Shias. Recently, he invited Ludhianvi on his talk show on Geo and allowed him to spread venom against the Shias. A clip of the interview is given in the link below:

But the interview published in The Friday Times is unprecedented by any standard as far as the English language media in Pakistan is concerned. There are around 40 million Shias in Pakistan. Two of the most tragic genocidal episodes of recent history were Rwada where upto a million people were killed and the Jewish holocaust by the Nazis. By allowing Ludhianvi to call for the destruction of the Shias of Pakistan, both Najam Sethi and his lieutenant Raza Rumi have created justification for the holocaust of the Shias of Pakistan which will be potentially on a far bigger scale than the Jewish Holocaust. Najam Sethi and Raza Rumi should explain how are they different from the Hitler’s Nazi media managers?

A Shia Uncle Tom defending an ASWJ promoter
Two Auntie Tommies:
No major surprise here. ASWJ Ludhianvi is an army tout.
Najam Sethi too is an army tout who on the behest of ISI played a key role in undermining Benazir Bhutto’s government in 1997. Here’s evidence: http://criticalppp.com/archives/40420
Sethi was amongst the first anchors who allowed hate speech of Ahmed Ludhianvi Deobandi on his show: Najam Sethi allows ASWJ’s Ludhianvi on his show to obfuscate #ShiaGenocide in Pakistan http://criticalppp.com/archives/73439
Raza Rumi can do anything for a bit of money and fame. He is the same man who promoted notorious Ahmadi phobe and Shia phobe Tahir Ashrafi Deobandi as a prophet of peace:
The icon of Pakistan’s endangered urban-liberal-elites, the famous Jinnah Institute, founded by Sherry Rehman and directed by Ejaz Haider (salute to him for the latest insults he hurled at rural-medieval mindset” of Sindhi and Baloch dogs) and Raza Rumi (http://criticalppp.com/archives/236725), is allied with the moderate Maulana Tahir Ashrafi. SAFMA too likes the moderate Maulana.
According to Raza Rumi, director of Jinnah Institute:
It is time to engage with clerics like Tahir Ashrafi and get them to join the struggle for a moderate and progressive Pakistan Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council (an apex body of country wide religious scholars) led a vigorous campaign on this issue and in my several meetings and conversations with him I was impressed by the remarkable clarity with which he stood by this non-Muslim child…Ashrafi is a brave exception but he also paid for it as a sinister campaign against him was launched to delegitimize him.It is never too late to remind the survival-obsessed civilian governments to institute some of these measures. More importantly, it is time to engage with thinking clerics like Ashrafi and get them to join the struggle for a moderate and progressive Pakistan. Here’s another example of Raza Rumi and The Friday Times discourse on Shia genocide:
http://criticalppp.com/archives/75388
In other words, The Friday Times etc are English version of Zarbe Momin, Ummat etc. In fact pro-ASWJ pro-establishment fake liberals are more dangerous because they misguide international media, audience and human rights groups.
Text of Ludhianvi’s interview published on The Friday Times:
‘Sectarianism has nothing to do with recent terrorism in Pakistan’
33 51
Maulana Mohammad Ahmad Ludhianvi heads Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ). When sectarian group Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) – founded by Haq Nawaz Jhangvi in 1985 – was banned in January 2002, it resurfaced as Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan. After being banned again in November 2002, it resurfaced as ASWJ.
In this interview, Ludhianvi speaks about the rising anti-Shia violence in Pakistan in general, and the recent bombings in Quetta and Karachi in particular.
Mohammad Shehzad: Is the Shia-Sunni divide the reason behind the recent terrorist attacks on Shias?
Maulana Ahmad Ludhianvi
Ahmad Ludhianvi: Sectarianism has nothing to do with the ongoing wave of terrorism in Pakistan. Whatever has happened in Quetta or Karachi has nothing to do with the differences between Shias and Sunnis.
I personally believe we are greater victims of terrorism than Shias. In 2012, more than 600 ASWJ workers were killed. We remained peaceful. Some people were arrested and they confessed that they were Shia and trained and funded by Iran. Moreover, foreign agents of the US, India, Israel and Blackwater are roaming freely in Pakistan, making conspiracies against the country.
You should look at what happened in Quetta in the backdrop of the handing over of Gwadar Port to China, and what happened in Karachi in the perspective of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. The US has expressed its concerns on both the developments.
Despite this, our party is being maligned for no reason. Half of the people killed in Karachi were Sunnis. The FIR of the Quetta bombing did not name our party or our senior vice president Malik Ishaq, but he and his son have been put behind bars. This is great injustice, but we are still showing patience.
MS: Your outfit is known for chanting the slogan Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir in public rallies. Doesn’t that provoke people to attack Shias?
“You should look at what happened in Quetta in the backdrop of the handing over of Gwadar Port to China, and what happened in Karachi in the perspective of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project”
AL: Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir is just a slogan, like any other, such as Roti, Kapra aur Makaan. It does not tell anyone to kill Shias. Speeches of Haq Nawaz Jhangvi are available online and in the market. He used this slogan throughout his life but never said Shias should be killed.
We call Shias Kafir on the basis of a unanimous edict issued by highly reputable jurists of Deoband.
This slogan is not the reason behind the killing of Shias, and we don’t force people to chant the slogan in our rallies.
MS: Should the slogan be chanted in public?
AL:You can disagree with the procedure.
MS: Your offices were raided and your workers were arrested after the Quetta bombing. Was your party involved?
AL:We strongly condemned the Quetta carnage. We condemn the killing of every innocent human being whether Shia or Sunni or even non-Muslim. The media is carrying out propaganda against us.
We have been accused of supporting the PML-N. Tehrik-e-Jafria is also a banned group, but its leader Iftikhar Naqvi has been made member of the Council of Islamic Ideology. What is wrong then if we decide to vote for anyone? We are a defunct outfit but our vote is not defunct. According to Pakistan’s Constitution, we can vote for anyone. It is our right.
MS: What are your suggestions for Shia-Sunni harmony?
AL: The country has suffered greatly because of Shia-Sunni rivalry. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had constituted the the Milli Yakjehti Council and the Muttahida Ulema Board for sectarian harmony. They came up with a code of conduct that bears my signature, and the signatures of Allama Ali Sher Haidri, Sajid Naqvi, Ali Naqvi and Iftikhar Naqvi.
We all agreed on a 14-year sentence for anyone who chants the slogan Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir or insults religious figures.
All you need to do is to turn it into a law through the parliament and the Shia-Sunni issue will be resolved.

I did not expect this from Najam Sethi and Raza Rumi. Utterly disgusting.
According to UK, US law, this is tantamount to a criminal offence:
In times of peace or war have you ever been involved in, or suspected of involvement in, war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide?
Have you ever been involved in, supported or encouraged terrorist activities in any country?
Have you ever been a member of, or given support to an organisation which has been concerned in terrorism?
Have you ever, by any means or medium, expressed views that justify or glorify terrorist violence or that may encourage others to terrorist acts or other serious criminal acts?
Clearly Raza Rumi, Najam Sethi and others of their cronies including Ali Chishti, Mohammad Shehzad etc may be charged with abetting, justifying, glorifying, enabling terrorism and terrorists.
Rights activists in US, Europe, Australia must intitiate legal cases against them and place a ban on their funding and visas.
Dear Let us build Pakistan
Let me say that in the start that my love for Pakistan as a nation is limitless and I strongly condemn any sectarian violence, killings and extremist ideology in my Pakistan.
Having said that I am also appalled at your article for a number of reasons.
1. The heading of your article: Pakistan to be Rwanda: Through Ahmed Ludhianvi, Najam Sethi and Raza Rumi’s call for Shia holocaust – by Mahpara Qalandar is not only stupid comparison but also runs against all the reality checks. It is also counter to your claim that you love Pakistan. With this kind of emotional observations, you are not only marching in the wrong direction but do not serve the cause of peace in the country. You are trying to pou oil on the sectarian fire.
2. Secondly, when you call Saudi Salafi ideology, which I totally hate as Islamofascist ideology of Saudi Arabia, then you are describing Islam as Fascist. Perhaps, you are not aware that this term was coined by an Israeli journalist who told me himself during my visit to Israel in 2005 and is now used predominately used by racist lobbies in the West. You should be careful in copying such Islamophobic terminology when you claim to be Muslim.
3. Then you are connecting Salafi ideology with Pakistan Army and accuse it of executing it. What proof do you have for such ridiculous calim. Do not you know that terrorists have attacked and killed many Pakistan Army personal and even attacked President Musharaf twice?
4. The man interviewed by Najam Sethi is saying: “We all agreed on a 14-year sentence for anyone who chants the slogan Kafir Kafir Shia Kafiror insults religious figures. All you need to do is to turn it into a law through the parliament and the Shia-Sunni issue will be resolved”. And you do not even appreciate his admission or proposal. What kind of neutrality, you have?
So, please do criticize terrorists, extremists and those who are destabilizing Pakistan, but do not do it with prejudicial mindset.
@Mr. Quraishy.
Running anti-shia death squads (of LeJ, ASWJ, SPP) in Pakistan are not deeds of Pakistan army, but perhaps Rawandan Army. Mr. Quraishy you should at least read Hamid Mir (he is neither a Shia, nor a Liberal). Here it goes:
http://criticalppp.com/archives/247965
@6
” … that this term was coined by an Israeli journalist who told me himself during my visit to Israel in 2005 …”
So you were in trust of Israel and Israeli journalist … Should I read this way? May I know what were you doing in Israel?
Raza Rumi has a split personality. He criticizes Mehr Bukhari for inviting Ehsanullah Ehsan in her show, and himself has no shame to publish hate-speech of Ludhiyanwi in his TFT. The guy should see a psychiatrist.
Hand-in-glove approach by all in enabling killings of Shias. Shame on Raza Rumi and Najam Sethi.

It looks any Takfiri has tried to fake as Bashy. Flaws in “arguments” (internal contradiction) suggests this is a Madrissa educated Deobandi dung beetle.
There was recent conference at Tel Aviv University to study Shia – Sunni Divide. Bashy was a participant to that conference. He read a paper on the achievements of Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat and appealed for donations to support Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Ludhianvi.
Interestingly there were several participants from middle eastern countries, some of them were speaking Urdu with each other.
