On LUBP’s apology to Najam Sethi club: Why can’t we respect free speech even if we disagree? – by Salma Jafar
Currently there is a sinister campaign on Twitter by a few fake liberals (who are hiding in liberals’ ranks but remain aligned to establishment mouthpieces and clerics) to harass and silence ALL pro-rights activists one by one. I request all rights activists to hold their ground. I really value their activism in support of rights of Shia, Ahmadi, Baloch, Sunni Barelvi etc. I also request Marvi Sirmed to have the courage to listen to critical voices instead of resorting to ad hominem, unless she plans to once again use Tahir Ashrafi Deobandi and his on-ground comrades to threaten and eliminate all Shia, Ahmadi and other activists one by one. We have already lost critical voices such as Irfan Khudi Ali, Abdul Nishapuri and PejaMistri. Marvi also needs to explain if a relative in her Deobandi family in Bahawalpur is still an active member of Sipah Sahaba. That will help us in understanding her links and cooperation with the Deobandi cleric who played a key role in the release of Malik Ishaq of LeJ.
