Expropriating Malala Yousufzai: Discourses in Pakistani social media
A dominant majority of those in Pakistan’s mainstream and social medias condemning attack on Malala Yousafzai are committed helpers of Pakistani establishment. Their populist, opportunist and partial discourse is revealing.
On Twitter and facebook, quite a few of those with Malala’s picture as their display or profile picture hated her when she was reporting Taliban’s atrocities in Swat. Their seemingly sympathetic statements in support of Malala are nothing but an act of camouflage, opportunism, populism, and expropriation.
After their right-wing colleagues tried to kill Malala, ISI-esque liberals are busy in expropriating her tragedy to earn a few dollars.
Intentional media has to some extent taken note of this populism. Here is an extract from a BBC Urdu article:

Based on Islamic ideology, Tawalla (affection) of Malala is hypocrisy unless joined with Tabarra (dissociation) of Taliban and their sponsors (i.e., Pakistan Army).
It’s a deflection to condemn religious fanatics ie Taliban while remaining silent on their key sponsors, whisky drinking generals in GHQ (Pakistan Army).
As long as Malik Ishaq, Abdul Aziz, Hafiz Saeed are roaming free, we know General Kayani is not sincere in protecting Pakistan from his strategic assets (Jihadist proxies).
If Pakistan has a future, it is embodied in Malala Yousafzai. Yet the Taliban so feared this 14-year-old girl that they tried to assassinate her. Her supposed offense? Her want of an education and her public advocation for it. This attack was so abominable, however, that Pakistanis across the ideological spectrum, sincerely or opportunistically, condemned it, most of them in vague terms.
Even Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD), the charity wing of the militant Islamist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which waged its own violent campaigns against India, deemed it fit to tweet in an opportunistic and selective moral manner. “Shameful, despicable, barbaric attempt,” read a message on the group’s official Twitter feed. “Curse b upon assassins and perpetrators.” However, the JUD exonerated Afghan Taliban of the attack and suggested that U.S. was a beneficiary of the attack. Same JuD/LeT which brutally murders Hindu Pundits & families in Kashmir is cited in NYT because it condemned attack on Malala. Effective PR
Not all Deobandi and Salafi are terrorists but almost all terrorists are Takfiri Deobandis and Salafists. Accept it, Pakistan.
100% of Jihadi & Takfiri Mullahs of Pakistan are on Saudi-ISI payroll. 20% of them are also hooked with CIA and MI6. Quite a few names come to mind including one who was found intoxicated in Islamabad a few days ago.
Afghan Taliban, who massacred thousands of Tajiks, Shia Hazaras, killed women and children, are General Kayani’s heroes, not ours.
Jamaat-e-Islami women’s wing president Samia Raheel Qazi now going on about people taking advantage of attack on Malala while herself exactly doing the same. Samia Qazi droning on about Malala describing Obama as her ideal, tweets about Madonna tattooing Malala’s name on her body. Samia also thinks video of woman being flogged in Swat was fake.
Lately several Pakistani bloggers e.g. Ayesha of My Bit for Chang, were hailing Samia Qazi as paragon of progressive thought/Muslim feminism.
You claim TTP, LeJ are CIA, RAW agents, then you also urge Pakistan govt to have dialogue with them. Hypocrisy & apologia at its peak!
It’s the same Hamid Mir who was being praised and promoted by some pseudo-liberals a few weeks ago. Shall we name them?
Hamid Mir’s article – trying to say attack on Malala Yousufzai is a reaction to drone attacks, war on terror is not our war
Hamid Mir and those pseudo-liberals who promoted him are a part of Pakistani establishment.
Hamid Mir – the new champion of Pakistan’s “liberals”? – by Anwar Changezi http://shar.es/5E1S5
The attack was also an embarrassment for the Pakistani Army, which has boasted of pushing the Taliban from Swat. The army chief, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, visited the hospital where Malala was being treated, and, in a rare public statement, he condemned the “twisted ideology” of the “cowards” who had attacked her. Words only have meaning if they are backed up by actions.
Someone should tell Adil Najam (VC of LUMS) that literacy rate can’t help much when State itself is a key sponsor of terrorism. Literacy couldn’t save Sri Lanka. Sril Lanka generals were able to defeat the LTTE because they were not their sponsors and accomplice.
Adil Najam of LUMS reminds us of Mufti Naeem of Jamia Binoria and vice versa. This is pretty much entire Pakistan.
A cleric on television, Mufti Naeem of Karachi, was asked by his host whether the learned doctors of the faith could bring themselves to issue a fatwa against the shooting of Malala. And try as the anchor did, the Mufti just wouldn’t give a clear answer. But we will have to issue a fatwa against drone strikes as well, he kept saying. Maulana Ata-ur-Rehman, brother to his holiness Maulana Fazlur Rehman, put up much the same performance in the National Assembly. We condemn this outrage, he said, but we will have to go to the root causes of why such events happen…then a string of equivocations about drone strikes and the infidel war in Afghanistan. Root causes…the last refuge of those trying to take cover.
If this is the predictable response of the commanders of the bearded, that of the foremost clean-shaven sympathizer of the Taliban, Imran Khan, is no different. Shaking his head this way and that before a clutch of journalists he said who wouldn’t be outraged by this event…and then immediately brought in drone strikes and root causes.
There are visible beards and there are hidden ones. Lest we forget, Gen Ziaul Haq, was also clean-shaven, although his moustache, until presidential exigencies taught him to trim it, was sinister-looking. And if in the world of Imran Khan and the leading warriors of the Defence of Pakistan Council (Gen Pasha, thou hast much to answer for) drone attacks is the big issue, is it not worth asking whether the state of Pakistan is in control of the area where these attacks are occurring? Do we control North Waziristan? If we don’t, shouldn’t lost sovereignty be reclaimed first before a violation of sovereignty is alleged?
In North Waziristan, as we have just had occasion to be reminded, even the great Khan dare not enter…nor Hafiz Saeed, he of the fiery creed. But let this be. Is the shooting of Malala revenge for the drone attacks? Yes or no? And if in the dimmest recesses of confusion the answer is no, then why draw the connection and dig up justifications for something beyond justifying? http://www.thenews.com.pk/Todays-News-9-137095-Forked-tongues-of-the-holy-armies
Ansar Bureny, along with Najam Sethi and Mubashir Lucman, is amongst those gems who served as ministers in ISI-installed governments.
Ahmed Quraishi, along with Zaid Hamid, is known to be a part of ISI propaganda cell. Arif Rafiq, a relatively unknown blogger, too uses their discourse in a refined manner.
Bina Shah is part of a lucrative NGO industry which remains tightly aligned with the military establishment to preserve and promote is socio-economic interests.
An example of Pakistan pseudo-liberals’ discourse: “I am, however, all praise for the army who rescued Malala.”
We Pakistanis have abdicated our position as citizens to speak out against militancy and left someone as young as Malalai to do it for us. I am, however, all praise for the army who rescued Malalai, took her to the local Saidu hospital, air-lifted her to the Combine Military Hospital in Peshawar, and have been caring for her while she fights for her life. She’s been moved to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology in Rawalpindi today. Senior doctors operated on her this morning and managed to remove the bullet still lodged in her head. She’s semi-conscious and stable, which is a huge relief. The military has been doing a stellar job of fighting militants, having driven them out of Swat in 2008, and they continue to bear the biggest losses in human life in this war. http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/no-were-not-all-malalai-8207437.html

Jamaat-e-Islami, General Zia and TTP are soft targets of Pakistan’s pseudo-liberals and pseudo-leftists. Same people remain silent on whisky drinking thugs such as Ejaz Haider, Najam Sethi etc.
Pseudo-leftists are amongst Pakistan’s rarest species, also amongst most dishonest historians.
Ejaz Haider, former director of Sherry Rehman’s Jinnah Institute, is ISI’s senior asset in Pakistan’s English press. Most of his personal friends and colleagues are suspected to be ISI assets.
In TV programme, Maazrat Kay Sath – 10th October 2012 – Inam Ullah Niazi of PTI blames an international conspiracy for attack on Malala.
PTI leader says “global forces” were behind the shooting of Malala. He is Imran Khan’s first cousin. http://bit.ly/RxfvK4
http://www.siasat.pk/forum/showthread.php?137480-Maazrat-k-Sath-10th-October-2012-Inam-Ullah-Niazi-amp-Gul-Muhammad-Jakhrani
Mullah Omar is worse than Yazid and those who praise Afghan Tailban and Mullah Omar are Yazidis. Literally and metaphorically.
Reality is much different than Pakistan FM’s rhetoric. ISI’s assets, terrorists Hafiz Saeed, Malik Ishaq, Abdul Aziz are free.
It’s an insult to Malala that those who support dialogue with Taliban condemn attack on her life. Including Sherry Rehman & Hillary Clinton, Mosharraf Zaidi, Ejaz Haider etc.
Rehman Malik, as usual, blames the victim suggesting that Malala’s family refused to avail the security.
Her parents have refuted such claims. http://t.co/HoxVVmiu
Malik also tried to dissociate Taliban from the attack.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik condemning the murder attempt on peace activist Malala Yusufzai said that it looks like the Tehrik-Taliban Pakistan was not involved in this attack but is the work of a splinter group of TTP.
Talking to media during visit to office of Parliamentary Reporters Association at Parliament House on Tuesday Rehman Malik said that a report has been sought of the murder attack on Malala Yousafzai and it is unlikely that the attack was carried out by TTP but it looks like the handy work of a splinter group of TTP, which is working on a separate agenda. In response to a question he said that the country is passing through a difficult phase and external forces are bent upon destabilising the country. He said in current circumstances we need to stand united. http://www.nation.com.pk/pakistan-news-newspaper-daily-english-online/islamabad/09-Oct-2012/ttp-not-involved-in-murder-attempt-on-malala-malik
Then he tried to avoid using word Taliban, replacing it with Zaliman or terrorists. Is Rehman Malik calling Taliban Zaliman because he thinks it is more politically correct in the ISI-ruled Pakistan?

Kamila Shamsie argues that Taliban’s ‘pathological hatred for women’ made them target Malalai. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/oct/10/malala-yousafzai-taliban-misogyny?CMP=twt_gu
Someone should tell Kamila Shamsie that Taliban love Yvonne Ridley despite her gender.
Those who exaggerate Kiyani’s yesterday’s statement might have forgotten his 14th August ‘strong’ speech. He’s better politician now.

NYT appears to have inducted Ejaz Haider in its editorial board. Its today’s editorial on Malalai is more for virtues of JuD than Malalai
Attack on Malala Yousafzai was enabled by those who remain selective in their morality and human rights. This fire will engulf ALL!
Malala represents Pakistan and Pashtuns. Those who tried to murder her represent Deep State and Saudi Salafist-Deobandi evil.
Those who are condemning attack on her but remain silent on her attackers (Deep State sponsored Takfiris) are real hypocrites.
Malala is the real innocent, tolerant face of Pashtuns. Mullah Omar & Hakimullah are the face of Saudi-ISI sponsored evil.
Those who are failing to condemn Pakistan Army’s role in abetting Taliban in fact support attack on Malala.
16 year old Malala was attacked in Swat today because we didn’t care for 16 yr old Shiraz Baig’s murder in Quetta yesterday.
So much outpouring of sympathy for Malala, so little mention of her attackers, their sponsors & apologists. Hypocrisy at peak!
Today, Taliban attacked Malala, slaughtered another 7 Pashtuns in Khyber Agency, injured 3 Shias in Kurram. Long live General Kayani.
Let there be no doubt, bullets pierced in Malala’s head and neck were fired by the evil hands empowered by Pakistan Army.
Shame on those who mourn Shias, not Sunnis; Punjabis, not Pashtuns; Sunnis, not Ahmadis etc. All of us are victims of LeJ, Taliban & ISI.
Salafism has corrupted both Pashtunwali and Deobandi ideology. Who could imagine brutal attack on a young girl in Swat?
It’s not important who actually attacked Malaa. What’s more important is to know and condemn the real sponsors of terror in Rawalpindi.
Only a dishonest leftist could write an article condemning Taliban while remaining silent on Pakistan’s most target killed faith group.
On one hand you flatter Shahbaz Sharif, Kayani, Imran Khan, on the other you condemn attack on Malala. Shame on you pseudo-liberals.
State can’t provide security to every single citizen, particularly when it is extremely busy in protecting their killers.
No difference between Munawar Hasan & Imran Khan, Malik Ishaq & Gen Kayani, Ansar Abbasi & Ejaz Haider, ASWJ & Jinnah Institute. All killers
Paid columnists, consultants & activists, known flatterers of army generals and govt ministers are worse than Taliban-LeJ beasts. Hypocrites
Let me repeat for the umpteenth time: General Kayani has more blood on his hands than any other Army Chief in Pakistani’s history.
All those who aren’t bothered about murder of another Shia Muslim (Ramzan) in D.I.Khan today are responsible for attack on Malala. Accept it
Did anyone notice that boosted by PTI’s march, ASWJ-Taliban are reorganizing in D.I.Khan? Yet another Shia Muslim killed in DIKhan today.
There is a clear similarity between Malalai and victims of Shia genocide? Both were first identified and then shot.
Let me state this: All those who are condemning attack on Malala but remain unmoved by Ramzan’s murder in D.I.Khan today are hypocrites.
There are 2 funerals of Shia Muslims D.I.Khan today; one of them killed in Karachi, other in D.I.Khan. Pakistan is silent on Shia Genocide.
Every Shia & Sunni activist (though I have lost hope in Shias) should condemn murder of 2 Shia Muslims of D.I.Khan today.
To Shia activists: You are 20% of Pakistan, 2nd largest Shia population in the world; you remain silent & disjointed on Shia Genocide. Shame
To those famous columnists who wrote urgent columns on Malala but remained unmoved by Parachinar and Mastung, SHAME ON YOU!
Pakistan’s so called progressives and leftists are far worse in hypocrisy and selective morality when it comes to Shia Genocide.
Jahangir Hasan martyred in Karachi. He belongs to Syed family of D.I. Khan who already lost their 26 members in targt killing, blasts
PTI, JI, PML-N, JuD, ASWJ/LeJ & ISI’s reaction to Salala is much different from their reaction to Malala. Violence by Taliban is kosher.
Did you care to explicitly condemn ISI-sponsored Saudi-funded Takfiri Deobandis (Taliban, ASWJ) who attacked Malala?
Pakistan’s media and social media is Munafiqistan, a land of hypocrites.
Want to see Pakistan’s hypocrisy? Have a quick look at those silent on murder of two Shias of D.I.Khan today. By God, they are hypocrites.
People with below average IQ, little information, and dubious integrity are champions of human rights. God help Pakistan.
Yes, Imran Khan is an epitome of hypocrisy, idiocy, cowardice. Still, what have Zardari & Shahbaz done to save us from Taliban & LeJ?
Don’t we see some people routinely polishing shoes of Bilawal, Shahbaz Sharif, Imran Khan, Rehman Malik on Twitter? They are the real thugs!
Our political, ethnic & sectarian biases have turned us into subhuman creatures. We remain selective in our causes & morality.
One word for those who criticize Imran Khan for failure to condemn Taliban but remain silent on similar vague resolution by NA. Hypocrites.
At least Imran Khan is personally visiting Malala as he visited Shias of Quetta, Gilgit etc. Where are Zardari and Shahbaz hiding?
From Jinnah Institute to Quilliam to Carnegie & other rights groups & think tanks, we have been deceived by opportunists, flatterers, thugs.
I have serious issue with those who think TTP and Taliban are two separate entities.
Taliban are Pakistan Army proxies, not Pashtun nationalists https://lubpak.com/archives/229668
Down with Yazidiat, Down with Kayaniat, Down with Mullah Omariat, Down with Ziaiat.
General Kayani has Malala’s blood on his hands. Everything else being said about her attackers is fiction.
You can identify pseudo-liberals by their flattery of govt ministers, selective morality, opportunism, and safe topic activism.
Beware of the thugs who are condemning attack on Malala while also praising Pakistan Army. They have Malala’s blood on their hands.
Tip: A few month ago, a foreign (embedded) journalist wrote an article on 3 allegedly anti-ISI columnists. All of them are in fact pro-military establishment.
We want full-fledged war on Taliban, ASWJ, JuD by Pakistan Army. We want Pakistan to be purged of every single militant. RT if you agree.
Wish we could have two Pakistans: One for Taliban, LeJ, LeT, Takfiris, pseudo-liberals and the other for ordinary, innocent Pakistanis.
Populism and integrity cannot co-exist. Say the right ting, folks. Grow some spine. Borrow from your own kids if you have none.

Samia Raheel Qazi and Marvi Sirmed are united in condemning this attack. Both of their own respective lucrative agendas.
Reminds me of a video in which Tahira Abdullah and General Hamid Gul were together in a protest. Does anyone have a link?
one should not link Marvi Sirmad with piece of shit like Samia Raheel QAZI……………Samia is Daughter of Abu Jahil and her self is Big Munafiq…..Jamati Baji…..there is no hope uptill there is single Jamati is living in Pakistan this country will remain in state of war…we should uproot this cancer…JAMAT ISLAMI is a cancer…

Benazir called herself mother of Taliban, Her interior minister openly claiming their victory in Afghanistan as his own, Fazlur rahman the open supporter of taliban is and has always been an ally of PPP, Altaf hussain was also called a crminal and killer by bibi who stated a vicious operation in Karachi and names of those who died can be seen on newly built bridges and roads, Qatil league the top most suspected party in killing of bibi is now a staunch ally, ANP used to be pro-communist and strong anti-capitalism (anti US) party eversince but took a u-turn as soon as USSR went down???
Ahh.. but our liberals only see hypocrisy in right wing parties…
