Non-Muslims are welcome to the Shia-Sunni administered Karbala but not to the Wahhabi-occupied Madinah
Few areas of public policy in the Muslim World are as religiously and politically contentious and legally confusing as the role of Islam in the affairs of the State. And this in turn determines the level of pluralism in any Muslim society.
While Saudi Arabia presents a paradigm of strict conservatism and separation of Muslims and non-Muslims, Iraq –the country with most religious sites after Saudi Arabia- is setting its own tradition. People of all faiths and sects can freely visit Imam Ali’s shrine in Najaf, Imam Hussain’s shrine in Karbala, Hazrat Abdul Qadirl Gilani’s shrine in Baghdad, no non-Muslim is allowed to visit Makkah, the house of God, and Madinah, the city of the Rehmat-ulil-Alimeen.
Currently in Karbala in addition to millions of Shias and Sunni Muslims, hundreds of non-Muslims including Christians, Hindus, Muslim minority sects etc are attending the Arbaen (Chehlum) of Imam Hussain. Here, we can see a delegation from Vatican marching to Imam Hussain shrine in Karbala with millions of other participants of different faiths. Even its most sacred places reflect an ideology that believes in equal treatment of all religions, whereas Saudi Arabia is universally regarded as a culture based upon Wahabbism, where the utmost sacred sites of other religions can be demolished if these don’t please the Wahabbi ideology. This is equally true of the educational institutions, speeches by the religious leaders and the rulers, and the laws of the country. Hence, the cultural prerogative that Wahabbism enjoys manifests itself everywhere in the country. Non-Muslims apart, even all other sects of Muslims are dealt with obnoxiously by the exclusivist ideology of the country and Wahabbis are permitted to be oppressively assertive.
On the other hand Iraq and its sacred sites reflect a social expression of the kind of respect and care Islam accords to all faiths. No social or political force is used to suppress the freedom of thought and expression of any person, or even the practice that flows from it. What Saudi Arabia does not like is that its closest neighbor is progressing to secure a social context in which full and free interchange of different views on life and reality can be conducted to the greatest advantage of all and the holy sites are not disadvantaged by persecution of any faith or ideology. There can be little doubt that if the lessons and example in the sacrifice of Imam Hussain were generally followed in a Muslim society, that society would be remarkably better off than any which followed another way, especially the ways of Mohammad Ibn Abdul Wahab.
Difference between Wahhabi Salafi-occupied Saudi Arabia and Shia-Sunni administered Iraq: People of all faiths and sects can freely visit Imam Ali’s shrine in Najaf, Imam Hussain’s shrine in Karbala, Hazrat Abdul Qadirl Gilani’s shrine in Baghdad, no non-Muslim is allowed to visit Makkah, the house of God, and Madinah, the city of the Rehmat-ulil-Alimeen. Currentlly in Karbala in addition to millions of Shias and Sunni Muslims, hundreds of non-Muslims including Christians, Hindus, Muslim minority sects etc are attending the Arbaen (Chehlum) of Imam Hussain.

LUBP follows the path of inclusion, we don’t care what faith you are, all we care about is standing against the oppression and striking a blow to the Yazeed of today. This is our definition of Hussaini and we are proud Hussaini. We are Hussaini we stand against Yazeed of the time. In Pakistan, Yazeedis are the terrorists of the Takfiri Deobandi Sipah Sahaba ASWJ-LEJ and Taliban TTP. Just as in Eid Milad un Nabi processions, Muharrum Processions, or Urs of Auliya, all faiths and all genders must be treated with equality and respect. We stand with all human beings in the Hussaini tent. Yes, our supporters are moderate Deobandis and moderate Salafis too who reject the Takfiri Deobandi and Wahhabi agenda of violence and persecution.
Why is it when Christians are attacked the culprits are the same as when Sunnis or Shias or Ahmadiya are attacked? Who is spared form the oppression of the Yazeed of out time?
Join our fight, for if you are quiet when others are oppressed, you are only helping the oppressor.
Sina ke nok say khuda ny apna zikr jab suna,
tou usnay teray zikr ko yeh martaba ata kiya,
Jahan azaan bhi nahi wahan bhi ya Hussain hai,
May kya bataun Dosto tumhay k kya Hussain hai,
I salute the policies of LUPB and the Government of Iraq. Indeed, they are showing the true face of Islam. May Allah curse the Ale-Saud and their partners.
Please stop comparing Makkah & Madinah with Karbala…
As per Sharia non-muslims are not allowed to enter Makkah & Madinah….nothing to do with the current govt…
Quran 9:28
“O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise.”
