Hindus are not Kafir, says Indian Deobandi cleric. But Shias are Kafir, Sunni Sufis and Barelvis are mushrik!
We welcome the tolerant and inclusive approach shown by Mualana Arshad Madni, senior Deobandi cleric of India’s Darul-Uloom Deoband towards Hindu community. Maulana Arshad Madni’s father Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madni was eminent cleric of the Deobandi sub-sect of Sunni Islam. Thefore, Maulana Arshad Madni’s statement (“We should not use the word Kafir for Hindus”) carries much weight.
In contrast to Deobandi clerics’ secular and inclusive approach, the attidue of the same Deobandi clerics (in Pakistan and India) seems to be based on sectarian prejudices, intolerance and violence towards Sunni Sufis, Barelvis and Shias. Therre are several fatwas foramlly issued by the Darul Uloom Deoband in which Shia Muslims have been declard infidel (Kafir) while Sunni Barelvis and Sufis have been delcared biddati (innovators) and mushrik (polytheists). Maulana Mehmood-ul-Hasan, Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madani, Manzoor Nomani and several other top Deobandi clerics have issued similar takfiri fatwas against Shia Muslims and Sunni Barelvi or Sufi Muslims.
In Pakistan, Deobandi clerics have issues similar takfiri fatwas. Particularly in the aftermath of the so called Jihad of Afghanistan of 1980s, funded by Saudi Arabia, masterminded by the CIA and executed by the ISI, the Deobandi madressahs and groups have become increasingly Wahhabized, violent and intolerant. This shift is evident by the fact that almost all terrorist groups currenlty active in Pakistan belong to the Deobandi school, e.g., Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (ASWJ), Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jundullah, Taliban (TTP) etc. All of these groups are extremely violent and intolerant towards Shias, Sunni Barelvis, Ahmadis, Christians etc. In fact, anyone who disagree with their ideology or tactics is declared a Murtid, Kafir and Wajib-ul-qatl.
From Pakistani Deobandis’ perspective, it would appear that the lack of unconditional deference to Sahaba is a bigger sin than Shirk. Therefore, while their Indian counterparts don’t consider Hindus Kafir, the Pakistani Deobandis routinely chant Shia Kafir slogan in their hate-speeches and rallies. They also attack Sunni Sufi and Barelvi shrines and the Maulood (Milad) processions of Sunni Sufis, Barelvis, and Shias.
Or one may be forced to accept that Deobandis, in general, have two faces – one in India, another in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In India, Deobandis have been presenting themselves as pro-secular, pro-Hindu, pro-peace, but in Pakistan, they are deeply anti-Shia, anti-Barelvi etc.
Or in both countries, Deobandis align themselves with the powerful parties. In India, Hindus are in power therefore Deobandis toe their line whereas in Pakistan, due to Saudi influence and ISI’s reliance of Deobandi and Salafi jihadists, Deobandis are more free and candid in expressing their sectarian bigotry, intolerance and violence.
This duality reflects hypocrisy and crass opportunism. While it is good to see our Hindu brethren have been accepted into the fold of the faithfull in India, it seems like the Pakistani Deobandi chapter, especially the Takfiri Deobandis of ASWJ/SSP/TTP did not get this memo. What else would explain their brutal violence even against dead Hindus in Pakistan,
For centuries, the Hindus of Sind have been burying their dead in Muslim graves. This has been evidence of amity and brotherhood between the Hindus and the Muslims of Sind. After all, Sind is known to be the land of Sufis.
No more.The corpse so callously dragged and desecrated was that of Bhooro Bheel, a Hindu teenager who died in an accident. He was buried in a Muslim graveyard where Hindus have traditionally been buried alongside Muslims. But the family of Bhooro Bheel did not realize that Sind is no more a land of peace. In the past few years, Deobandis, awash with Saudi riyals and patronized and protected by the Pakistan Army and its various intelligence incarnations, have taken over the whole province. Thus when the corpse was desecrated, the media give the incident the usual twist. Here is a sample from The Express Tribune, which styles itself as the foremost liberal publication in Pakistan:
“. . . an enraged mob had dug up the body within hours, tied it with ropes and unceremoniously dumped it in the lands of a local landlord, protesting the burial of the Hindu in a Muslim graveyard. For some five days, the body lay out in the open. It is reported that seminary students from a neighbouring town had instigated the mob.”
The above episode statement also highlights how coordinated the Deobandi intelligentsia is with Saudi Wahabism. It is not a coincidence that the global hate speech and violence against Shia Muslims is being conducted by a well established nexus of Deobandi-Wahabi groups. The same nexus is also behind most major acts of terrorism and vicious violence against Christians, Sunnis (Barelvis, Sufis) Ahmadis, and yes, even against Hindus in Pakistan and Kashmir.

امام مہدی سے متعلق غلط فہمیاں
امام مہدی ،مسیحا و کالکی اوتار کے بارے میں تمام مذاہب میں یہ غلط فہمی پائی جاتی ہے کہ وہ انکے مذہبی عقیدے کو دنیا میں غالب کردینگے۔ یہودیوں کے نزدیک مسائع آئینگے تو انکو غلبہ دلائیں گے،عیسائیوں کے نزدیک میسحیت دنیا پر چھا جائیگی ،بدھ مت والوں کے نزدیک وہ ہرشخص کو مہاتما بنا دینگے، پارسیوں کے نزدیک وہ انکی عظمتِ رفتہ کو بحال کرکے پوری دنیا کو پارسی بنالیں گے،ہندوں کے نزدیک وہ دنیا پر ہندو مت کا جھنڈا گاڑدینگے یہی خیال دیگر مذاہب کا بھی ہے جبکہ امام مہدی کسی ایک مذہب کیلئے نہیں بلکہ تمام مذاہب اور تمام انسانیت کیلئے تشریف لائینگے۔اُن کی تعلیم ایسی ہو گی جو تمام مذاہب کو قریب لا کر انہیں ایک پلیٹ فارم پر جمع کر دیگی۔
مسلمانوں کے ذہنوں میں یہ تاثر عام ہے کہ امام مہدی دیگر مذاہب بشمول ہندو،عیسائی اور یہودیوں سے جنگیں لڑیں گے اور انہیں قتل وغارت اورنیست ونابود کر دینگے ،جبکہ حقیقت میں ایسا نہیں ہے۔ جیسا کہ مندرجہ بالا میں بیان کیا گیا کہ امام مہدی کسی ایک مذہب کیلئے نہیں بلکہ تمام مذاہب و عقائد کیلئے تشریف لائینگے۔امام مہدی دنیا سے بدی اور نفرت کو مٹادینگے اور دنیا کے تمام مذاہب میں موجود نفرت والی ارواح کو ختم کرکے پوری انسانیت کوامت واحدہ میں تبدیل فرمادینگے۔وہ سب کو اللہ کی پہچان عطافرمائینگے اور اپنی نظر سے اللہ کا ذاتی نور انسانوں کے قلوب میں بانٹیں گے اور تمام لوگ ایک رب کے نام پر جمع ہو جائینگے۔چونکہ اُس ذات نے دنیا کے تمام مذاہب کو ایک کرنا ہے اور کسی کو ایک کرنے کیلئے اس سے جنگ نہیں لڑی جاتی ۔اُن کے پیغام میں ایسی طاقت ہوگی کہ تمام مذاہب اُن کے قریب آکر ایک ہو جائیںگے۔اُن کی تعلیم سب ہی کیلئے قابلِ قبول ہو گی اورکسی بھی مذہب کو اس پر اعتراض نہ ہوگا اور وہ تعلیم رب کے عشق و محبت پر مبنیٰ ہوگی جوکہ تمام مذاہب میں مشترک ہے۔اُن کے دور میں جو لڑائی ہو گی وہ دجال (جوکہ بدی کا نمائندہ ہے) کے خلاف ہوگی نہ کہ کسی مذہب کے خلاف ہوگی نہ کسی مذہب کے خلاف اور دجال کو بھی حضرت عیسٰی قتل کرینگے نہ کی امام مہدی۔
مسلمانوں کو ایک غلط فہمی ہے کہ امام مہدی کی آمد پر وہ انہیں فوراً پہچان لینگے۔لیکن جس طرح انجیل میں خضور پاک کی آمد کا تذکرہ موجود تھا اور لوگ آمد کے منتظر تھے لیکن انکی آمد پر بے شمار لوگ نہ صرف انہیں پہچان نہ سکے بلکہ انکی مخالفت کر کے کافروں میں شامل رہے ۔وجہ یہ تھی کہ لوگوں نے آپ کی آمد پر ظہورپذیر ہونے والی نشانیوں (خانہ کعبہ میں بتوں کا ٹوٹ کر گرنا ،کنکریوں کا کلمہ پڑھنا،القمر کا واقعہ وغیرہ)کو نہ صرف جھٹلادیا بلکہ آپ کی تعلیمات پر غور تک کرنے کی زحمت گوارا نہیں کی۔ حالانکہ قرآن مجید کی آیات کے بارے میں اس دور کے عالموں نے بھی تصدیق کی کہ ایسا کلام انسان نہیں لکھ سکتا لیکن پھر بھی ان تعلیمات کو تسلیم کرنے سے انکار کرتے رہے اور اپنے عقیدے پر ڈٹے رہے۔ یہ واقعات ہماری عبرت کیلئے کافی ہیں کیونکہ آج کے دور کا مسلمان بھی اسی طرح تنگ نظر ہے جو اپنے عقیدے کے علاوہ کسی اور کو تسلیم کرنا تو درکنار اس پر غور تک کرنے کو کفر سمجھتا ہے۔
بعض لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم قرآن واحادیث کی روشنی میں امام مہدی کو پہچانیں گے جبکہ احاسث کے اقوال ایک دوسرے سے اختلاف ہاٹکراورکھتے ہیں۔ اسکے علاوہ قرآن وحدیث کو سمجھنے کی فقی جو کہ قلب کو عطا ہوتی ہے وہ مسلمانوں کے پاس موجود نہیں ۔لہذا قرآن اور احادیث وروایات کی روشنی میں امام مہدی کی پہچان نور اور باطنی علم سے عاری لوگوں کیلئے ممکن نہیں ۔اسکے علاوہ کچھ احادیث کو ایک فرقے نے مستند تو انہی احادیث کو دوسرے فرقے نے ضعیف اور غیر مستند قرار دے رکھا ہے۔ یہ احادیث علماء نے اپنے اپنے الفاظ میں ترجمہ کرکے پریس سے چھپوائی ہیں جس میں علماء کا اپنا کردار اور اختلاف بھی شامل ہے۔ہمارے پاس ایسی کوئی حدیث نہیں جو حضورپاک کے زمانے کا نسخہ ہو۔ قرآن کے نزول کے وقت اللہ تعالٰی جبریل کو ساتھ بھیجتا تھا تاکہ شیطان آیات میں رد و بدل نہ کرسکے جبکہ یہ احادیث تو جبریل کی حاضری کے بغیر ہی طبع ہوتی رہی ہیں۔اسکی ایک مثال آج سے کچھ عرصہ پہلے تک طبع ہونے والی مشکواۃ شریف کی مندرجہ ذیل حدیث ہے؛
وعن ابی سعید الخدری قال قال رسول اللہ یتبع الدجال من امتی سبعون الفاعلیھم السیجان (رواہ فی شرح السنۃ)۔ (مشکواۃ،باب الفتن،رقم 5253)
ترجمہ :- ابو سعید خدری سے روایت کہ حضور پاک نے فرمایا! میری امت کے ستر(70) ہزار علماء دجال کی پیروی کرینگے، انکے سرون پر سبز چادریں ہونگی۔
کچھ عرصہ پہلے تک اس حدیث میں چادروں کا رنگ سبز لکھا تھا جسکی تصدیق مشکواۃ شریف کے باب کتاب الفتن کے کسی بھی پرانے نسخے سے کی جاسکتی ہے۔ لیکن حالیہ نسخوں میں ایک مذہبی جماعت دعوت اِسلامی نے خود کو اس حدیث کی ذد میں پاکر ترجموں میں چادروں کا رنگ سیاہ لکھ دیاہے تاکہ اشارہ انکے بجائے ایک دوسری جماعت جمیت علماء اسلام کی طرف چلا جائے۔ یہ صرف ایک مثال ہے اسطرح 1400سالوں میں نہ جانے کس کس نے احادیث کے الفاظ میں اپنے اپنے حساب سے رد و بدل کیا ہوگا جسکا مسلمانوں کو کوئی علم نہیں۔اسلئے احادیث کے موجودہ طباعت شدہ نسخوں کو سو فیصدی یا حرف درست قرار نہیں دیا جاسکتا بالخصوص تراجم کو (ماسوائے ان احادیث کے جن کو اولیا اللہ نے اپنی کتب میں درج فرماکر انکی تصدیق کی )۔
