Saif-ur-Rehman Chaudhry or Iftikhar-ur-Rehman? – by Faizi Mughal

There are always a few names in the history of every nation that are ever cursed and spitted. As a nation, our history also contains many such cursed personalities; and the Redco guy, Saif-ur-Rehman, leads that filth.

At the behest of his political leader and mentor, Mian Namurad (Nawaz) Sharif, this mongrel dog engineered a fake accountability process and convicted Asif Ali Zardari and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. Asif Ali Zardari and BB shaheed were charged with several fabricated cases, which had no existence in real at all.

There is no doubt that such accountability may not be declared ‘just and fair’ when a particular person may have a vested interest and the said person no matter how pious looking lacks the capacity of adjudicating on the basis of impartiality.

In addition, Mian Namurad Sharif confessed in his book that all the cases were forged , bogus and political motivate. One thing that is also important to note is that Saif-ur-Rehman hails from some illegitimate blood as his real brother Majeeb-ur-Rehman, who is considered as the worst and most corrupt ex-chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board. One can only guess his family background.

That was the worst and darkest chapter of Pakistan’s history that could never be deleted from the pages. However those bitter memories could be buried, but unfortunately, Saif-Ur-Rehman, has once again appeared in the shape of Chief Jusitce Iftikhar Chaudhry, or rightly Iftikhar –ur-Rehman  who in the name of accountability is fulfilling the unaccomplished agenda of Saif-ur-Rehman.

I don’t understand why all the laws and morality comes into play only when PPP is involved. The story is same, the writer of the story is same but dancing puppet is changed. Instead of looking into own mirror and blemished past, Iftikhar ur Rehman appears to cast the first stone. The hoopla being created over the re-opening of President Zardari’s infamous Swiss cases is not really all that surprising. However, what is astonishing is the apparent disregard for national constitution and international law, practices and procedures.

One could feel the disappointment of Iftikhar-ur-Rehman after the Swiss prosecutor general Daniel Zappelli clearly spelled out that his country cannot prosecute the Pakistani president “because the Pakistan Constitution grants him immunity as head of state”. However, one can expect from the cheap Justice that he could violate the constitution by putting all the weight to end the immunity of President.

I have a query. Were the people of Pakistan not aware of the label, pasted on Zardari because of forged cases? If they were, why did they give their mandate to the PPP and elect Zardari as president of Pakistan? If people of Pakistan elected Zardari, who is Iftikhar-ur-Rehman to defy the mandate of 16 million people?

I want to ask from Iftikhar-ur-Rehman Chaudhry: is there a crime greater than violating the constitution of Pakistan? If not, why did Chaudhry himself commit this crime by validating the rule of a dictator?Could he suggest any punishment for him?
