Could anyone hear my screams?
(On a man accused of blasphemy burnt alive by a mob in Bhawalpur today and it hardly got any news coverage in the mainstream media. It is our own indifference that kills our conscience more than the act of barbarism itself)
Oh! what a shame this all has been.
An entire existence never understood,
And so condemnably wasted.
For I have committed blasphemy
Because no one could hear me.
Torch me now.
See my flesh burn in flames
And smell the stench
Go on, feed your soul
For this is what you consider
your conscience.

Humanity does not exist any more in Pakistan.
Thats the outcome of Mulanism started by Zia-ul-Haq (FAUJ).
Oh C’mon!! Talking about mainstream media and @Naila about Pakistan. There is no coverage about Burma genocide either. LUPB stop this bias please.
AZK, is this burning to be glorified here because it is happening in Burma too?
AZK and our ultra patriotic folks, We are Burmese, not Pakistanis. why doesn’t Burma cover Pakistan’s mob lynching?
Javed Sahib,
you are very polite and mannered. I am impressed by your rationale and intellectual arguments.
Once again LUBP is attacking real liberals like Talat Hussain, Ejaz Haider, Ansar Abbasi and the Marvi twins, Sirmed and Memon.
I would like to reiterate why LUBP does not talk about attacks on muslims in Burma? Isn’t Burma part of the Ummah?
I think this Zeeba is another paid hack for Team Zardari. Ejaz Haider put Zardari in his place

Real liberals are all with Ejaz Haider; they are all with Supreme Court and Hafiz Saeed. Zeeba and other LUDP thugs are bringing a bad name to Pakistan by publishing this article.
Zeeba, how much did Zardari pay you for writing this article? He was the one who raised an issue about this silly incident while real liberals like Talat were talking about Burma. Shame on you and shame on LUDP for publishing this rubbish. Ejaz Haider should write a similar letter for LUDP that he wrote for Zardari.
Liberal Sahib,
How, in any of the pieces I’ve written, have I crticized any journalist or activist here (besides Aamir Liaqat the media whore).
And how in the world are you connecting ths particular piece with anti-liberal propoganda?
I am getting paid from my job, not by Zardari, but a middle class work that I am doing. And finding a platform (even though i don’t quite agree with the editor here) to express my views is no crime.
please do a little research before you throw out your trash on others. Doesn’t quite make you a “liberal” honestly speaking.
Secondly, I would like to stress that the idea of a “umma” is impractical and unrealistic. Recognition of differences and protection against dogmas (even violent ones) should be our concern more than singularizing the Umma concept. I think it is hegemonic to impose it in our case.
The world is not an evil place because of those who do evil, but rather because of those who sit back and let it happen.
