Who will free Pakistan’s Shias from the Iranian-agenda scholars?
Here’s yet another evidence of how Pakistani Shia clerics influenced by foreign policies of Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) and agendas of Pakistan army (Inter Services Intelligence – ISI) keep recycling misleading and xenophobic discourses on Shia genocide.
Here is a statement (in Urdu) by Raja Nasir Abbas, a Shia cleric who currently leads the newly formed religio-political party MWM (Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen). The statement is from “Akhbar-e-Wahdat”, MWM’s official weekly publication. According to Raja Nasir, USA, Israel and India are responsible for Shia genocide in Pakistan. He said: “We are not being killed by religious extremists, we are being killed by US, Zionists and India.”
Raja Nasir has a consistent pattern of reinforcing and repeating pro-ISI discourses e.g., his support for Taliban-Al Qaeda operative Dr. Aafia Siddiqi, his opposition to drone attacks on Taliban-Sipah-e-Sahaba hideouts in FATA, his opposition to restoration of NATO supplies, his meeting and joint press conference with Imran Khan etc, all of this reflects that MWM is a movement hijacked by Shia clerics who seem to be selling Shias’ blood for someone else’s agenda.
This is high time that Shia Muslims of Pakistan start asking MWM leaders about their true agendas and objectives.
