US allies like Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar’s support for Al Qaeda in Iraq, Syria and Yemen must stop! – by Agha Jafri
Almost anyone with a general knowledge about the bloodshed and destruction taking place across the Muslim lands in general and the Levant in particular, is aware of the fact that the governments of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar are amongst the foremost “Salafi Ringleaders”, who happen to not only be the founders and financiers of Al-Qaida, Al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and ISIS, but also are hell-bent on controlling the Middle East, and cleanse the region of Shia or any sort of Non-Salafi presence. These State sponsored machines of malice do not hesitate to create chaos in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen. Western powers and its policymakers go on collaborating in total complicity with these cruel regimes that never cease provoking one mayhem after another in the fragile region.
Western powers continue to shower shiploads of bounties that include state of the art armaments to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar and stationing major naval fleets at the harbors of Bahrain and Qatar. While it appears that the U.S. is perpetrating these acrimonious acts to showcase its might, the real intent here is to appease and applaud a bunch of incompetent tyrants. This grotesque gang of so-called U.S. allies turn to the likes of most vindictive and bloodthirsty mercenaries such as Al-Nusra (ISIS’s step sibling), which is well known to the West as an Al-Qaida affiliate and a formidable terrorist entity. While this Cabal of Cannibals employs the services of Al-Nusra, Al-Qaida, and ISIS in dismantling the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad, it is equally effective in destabilizing the Iraqi government of Haider al-Abadi by exploiting the sectarian wrath of extreme elements of the country’s Sunni population. Yemen is their most recent victim because they suspect that since Houthi rebels are partly Shia, and thus a proxy of Iran, they must face total extermination; to accomplish this objective, a Saudi-led coalition is using U.S. supplied cluster bombs.
Major allies such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, with strategic geopolitical presence as well as sizable populations, keep getting marginalized by the U.S. This policy is neither prudent nor proper, as western powers, at this critical juncture, are simply ignoring the popular opinion of the peace loving universe and openly siding with the Salafi Mafia . Bashar al-Assad’s acts in Syria are construed as horrific and heinous, Haider al-Abadi’s stewardship of Iraq is labeled as unfair and discriminatory towards Iraqi Sunnis, and Vladamir Putin’s discourse in Ukraine is interpreted as outright savagery. As a result, the aforementioned leaders continue to encounter maximum impunity both by the West and by its allies in the Middle East. This ensemble of evil, comprised of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, though, get handsomely rewarded by the West for all of their dastardly deeds.
The U.S and the rest of the West must stop, sooner or later, the blind support it continues to offer to the corrupt Arab monarchies and their accomplices. It can ill afford to favor a cabal that is possessed with a nefarious agenda of hate and bigotry. The shortsightedness of western policymakers could ultimately inflict an irreparable harm to the fabric of democracy and freedom not just in the Middle East, but also in other geographies of this planet. Also, the suicidal strategies, formulated and implemented by the policymakers who are associated with major world powers, will ultimately result in the West losing its grip on critical World events, as margins of its control will shrink and rising powers around the orient rim will reap all the benefits. In the meantime, the killing fields established by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey around Muslim lands are being fertilized by the blood of innocents !
