Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s article contradicts lies crafted by Najam Sethi’s TFT Blog

In his English editorial for The Friday Times (TFT Blog) as well as his Urdu column for daily Jang (literal meaning: War), senior pro-military establishment cloumnist Najam Sethi engages in his typically vicious mudslinging against the PPP and President Zardari.
http://jang.com.pk/jang/sep2013-daily/08-09-2013/col3.htm
Unfortunately for Sethi, his most serious assertion, that there is a rift between PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his father, former President Zardari, is contradicted entirely by Chairman Bilawal’s glowing and incisive tribute to his father’s presidency in the Huffington Post. This article by Chairman Bilawal was published just yesterday and not only counters the one-sided propaganda against the PPP by Najam Sethi and his TFT blog but also shreds the notion of an alleged split within PPP.
In his article in HuffPo, Chairman Bilawal writes:
“By far his (President Zardari’s) greatest achievement is shepherding Pakistan through the nation’s tumultuous transition to democracy. The day my mother, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, was buried, I proclaimed ‘Democracy is the best revenge’. As a son, and a Pakistani citizen, I could not be more proud of President Zardari. He has truly given me a second legacy to live up too. He sacrificed eleven and half years of his life as a political prisoner fighting for democracy in Pakistan. He lost his wife and I lost my mother in this battle, but we have won the war. Democracy has arrived. Mark my words, history will remember President Zardari as one of the greatest and most successful leaders the country has ever seen.”
For most of the time, Najam Sethi is a smooth pro-military establishment operator who covers his flanks while passing off slander as news and ill-intentioned gossip as fact. This is one of the few times he is exposed as the pathological liar and glorified gossipmonger who speaks the tongue of the military establishment and expresses their wishes. During the last year (2012-13), Najam Sethi and his Friday Times blog (edited by Jinnah Institutte’s Raza Rumi and Sipah-e-Sahaba’s advocates Mohammad Shahzad and Ali Chishti) has tried to create a split within the PPP leadership. They first published this agency-manufactured gossip in the Such Gup section of the TFT blog. They then leaked this lie to a co-opted Indian journalist, Reza ul Hassan Laskar. https://lubpak.com/archives/254313
In his most recent editorial in TFT blog, the ISI-Noora Kushti fame journalist Najam Sethi comes out openly as the source of this gossip. https://lubpak.com/archives/254313
Apparently, military establishment has tasked Sethi and co to create another Fatima Bhutto out of Chairman Bilawal. With his bold column in the Huffington Post, Bilawal has poured cold water on their pro-establishment agenda.
When LUBP first exposed the lies and ill-intentions behind this gossip, we based their support on not just analysis of the past anti-PPP and anti-politician vitriol of the TFT blog and Jang Group (including Geo TV of Hamid Mir, Najam Sethi, Ansar Abbasi and Kamran Khan) but also the official tweeted statements of Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari. At that time, some naïve and/or compromised social media activists told us to back off Najam Sethi and cited the example of a couple of phone calls that may have transpired between him and very generous statesperson Benazir Bhutto.
Even if such out of context reported phone calls took place between Pakistan’s most hard working leader (SMBB) and a powerful establishment spokesperson (Najam Sethi NS) , it simply comes across as a routine conversation by SMBB to gauge the agencies’ thinking and the situation on the ground before her return. A couple of routine calls do not wipe out Najam Sethi’s historical role in the establishment-sponsored witch hunting of SMBB and Asif Zardari. It does not negate the fact that before the overthrow of an elected PPP government by a turncoat on the basis of a Zia-inserted clause (Article 58 2B), Najam Sethi actively engaged in the mudslinging campaign that preceded the overthrow. He was the leading mudslinger and mastermind behind the one-sided , controversial and vicious anti-Benazir Bhutto documentary, “Princess and the Playboy” (funded by the ISI, made by BBC, directed by Najam Sethi, produced 1996). https://lubpak.com/archives/254791
After the elected PPP government was deposed by the turncoat President Farigh Leghari in 1996, ISI-installed caretaker propaganda minister Najam Sethi played a central role in the political witch hunting of the PPP. History tells us that many of the cases that were intiated then were not only politically motivated but even outright manufactured. Therefore, it is no surprise that Najam Sethi has a history of distorting facts and being part of political witch hunts against the PPP.
Najam Sethi’s latest column in TFT blog and its Urdu translation in Jang is the same propaganda whose variations are presented in most of Pakistan’s press. While PPP government should be held to account, they should only be critisized in proportion to the extent of the power wielded by them. In the last 5 years, 60% of Pakistan was under the governorship of Najam Sethi-favoured PML-N. Punjab faced the worse power crisis and the provincial government did the least – unlike the Sindh (PPP) and KPK (ANP-PPP) that atleast added some noteworthy power projects.
Najam Sethi conveniently ignores and omits crucial facts on how Takfiri Deobandi terrorists of Sipah Sahaba (ASWJ-LeJ) were let off by the Supreme Court he promoted in his columns as a bulwark against the establishment. He does not mention the role of a viciously one-sided pro-Taliban media. Neither does he care to mention the numerous occassions when the media-Judiciary team worked to undermine the elected PPP government at every term.
His token criticism of the military establishment is a tactic to place the onus of the responsibility on PPP while absolving the more powerful, pro-Taliban military establishment that still calls the shots in Pakistan.
Sethi makes no mention of how PML N – that governed 60% of the country, actively facilitated Sipah Sahaba Taliban whose actions have destroyed the country’s security and economy.
He also forgets to mention the role played by himself, his TFT blog and his media employers (Jang Group) in giving coverage to mass murdering terrorists to justify anti-Shia, anti-Ahmadi, anti-West hate and murder. He does not refer to the blatant nexus between the Jang Group and pro-establishment Judiciary to avoid paying billions of taxes and misuse political office to secure lucrative television rights (eg for Geo Super). He forgets to mention how the Judiciary scuttled various power projects initiated by the PPP on the basis of unproven allegations and how the Judiciary harassed all the appointments made by the PPP to circumvent the energy and lack of taxation revenue.
Sethi makes little mention of the massive corruption of the Judiciary, media and Army and their blatant disregard to be held accountable. For Najam Sethi and his social media supporting thugs and sycophants, accountability begins and ends with PPP. His vicious attack on outgoing President Zardari has even less credibility than the Such Gup Gossip section in his TFT blog.
Asif Zardari’s legacy
– Najam Sethi
President Asif Zardari is the first president in Pakistani history to complete a full five-year term in office. The irony is that if the real political leader of the PPP, Benazir Bhutto, hadn’t been assassinated, Mr Zardari might never have participated in Pakistani politics at all (third time round, she wanted him to stay away and look after the kids while she ruled Pakistan). A bigger irony is that he was able to match wits and get the better of all his political adversaries – especially head-hunting judges and generals – and live to fight another day after surviving the onslaughts of the NRO, Salala and Memogate. Indeed, the bonhomie is quite remarkable – the leader of the opposition and the prime minister are both hosting farewell receptions for Mr Zardari and he is hosting a presidential feast for the prime minister. All this is a far cry from the days when the opposition would shriek a president down during his annual parliamentary address and constantly conspire to oust him from office. Not for nothing, therefore, have friend and foe alike bestowed upon Mr Zardari an honorary PhD in politics.
For now, however, Mr Zardari might like to reflect on his legacy for Pakistan and its fledgling democracy. Far from witch-hunting his opponents in the opposition, media and judiciary, he bore their slings and arrows with a Cheshire cat’s grin. He voluntarily divested himself of the president’s Herculean powers under Article 58-2B in favour of the prime minister; he enabled the superior judges to become independent of parliament; he devolved many of the federal government’s powers to the provinces; he anointed the frontier as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and created Gilgit-Baltistan; he established the notion of neutral and consensus caretaker governments and the Election Commission of Pakistan to oversee free and fair general elections; and so on. If he had chosen not to entertain such democratic ideals, our political system would certainly have been the poorer for it.
But the truth also is that Mr Zardari shipwrecked the economy at the altar of personal political survival. He chose two prime ministers not on the basis of any track record or potential for governance and public welfare but on the yardstick of loyalty. He didn’t much care how corrupt and incompetent they were and the fate to which they helped consign the PPP so long as they refused to cow down before the judges and generals who wanted to see the back of him. At the end of his five-year term, and by extension that of the PPP government, the economy has hit rock bottom, unemployment and public debt have doubled, poverty has increased, foreign investment has fled our shores, there is no energy to run homes and industries, terrorism has peaked, the country is isolated regionally and distrusted internationally, and Pakistanis are more alienated, frustrated, violent and apprehensive about their future than ever before.
Of course, it wasn’t inevitable that we would have to pay such a heavy toll for Mr Zardari’s political longevity. A different course of action might have yielded the same personal dividend for him without jamming the economy. For instance, if he had restored the judges instead of blocking and then provoking them to take up cudgels against the NRO, he might not have had to endure a long and vindictive campaign that sent the PPP government staggering from pillar to post and stymied all governance. For starters he wouldn’t have been compelled to betray the opposition by seeking the cover of the presidency to remain immune from prosecution – like Sonia Gandhi, he could have ruled from the sidelines. But the bonus would have come from the freedom to wield greater leverage in selecting his prime minister and cabinet, thereby controlling the fate of his party and government and the destiny of Pakistan. As it is, his party has been wiped out in all provinces except in rural Sindh where its standing is based on the dubious factor of sub-nationalist ethnicity rather than performance.
Mr Zardari’s political prospects are bleak. The PPP will be hard-pressed to keep the ship of provincial state steady as Karachi is buffeted by waves of terrorism and counter-terrorism operations that will strain political relations with all state and non-state actors. In particular, he should seek ways and means to revive the party in the Punjab when, inevitably, the PMLN falters on one count or another. Meanwhile, he would be advised to keep on the right side of Nawaz Sharif so that his flank is covered while he dodges the avenging judges.
Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto didn’t see eye to eye on how to run the party and the government. But father and son must make amends. The PPP needs new blood, new inspiration and new ideas to mount an effective challenge to the PMLN. Above all, it needs Bilawal Bhutto to start where Benazir Bhutto left. Mr Zardari should now focus on ensuring that the mission of his martyred wife endures.

As if Bilawal Bhutto or Bilawal Zaradri has a choice. He knows damn well which side of the bread is buttered.
Here is a ticket scalper from Bambino cinema in Karachi whose whole life is full of illegal acts and breaking every ethical and financial law in the country and you want us to give him the respect he deserves?. Zardari would be in a jail serving a life sentence if he was from a law abiding country. He can thank his lucky stars that he was born in Pakistan where crime actually pays. Where the wealth of a man is directionally proportional with his ability to loot, plunder and kill. The richer you are in Pakistan the more ethically challenged you become, hence, it is no surprise that Zardari is one of the richest Pakistani. There is absolutely no difference between Zardari and Nawaz, except that Nawaz is from “Sada Punjab”, he is a SOB but our SOB.
“I am saddened to the point of tears whenever I think of my beloved wife Benazir” these pearls came out of the mouth of Zardari and were reported on GEO TV I think. When I heard that I fell on the floor laughing my ass off. I was hysterical and could not control my laughter. I mean people lie all the time but Zardari missing his wife? that is a whopper, the mother of all the lies. If I remember correctly right after Shaheed Rani aka corruption queen kicked the bucket, Zardari came on TV and was almost like ” O’ Allah what did I do to deserve this kindness”, I mean he looked happy inside and had a glee on his face, trying to hide his smile. Then came that fraud of the one page hand written will by CQ (Corruption Queen), tucked under a mattress, not surprisingly, nominating Zardari as the head crook of PPP with Bilawal as the apprentice to learn the ropes of stealing and plundering from the legendary Zardari. It all worked to a well thought out plan. I salute you Zardari!!!
CIA gave govt.to ppp because of anti-Taliban slogan, but executive power was given to CJ.PPP ,under the cicustances, accepted the challange & took initiative to fight ideologically against rightist Fanatics as usual with great sacrifices of life. But unfortuntely they failed to conquar the battle due to the dominant influence of Zia’s mentality in law enforcing Establishment. One should not feel victorios due to these “Chiria Type”propagation on PPP’S defeat in election in the Name of corruption.Ideological corruption is more fatal than material & who can deny this fact under the Prevailing terrorism in the country?
U can make urself fool to overlook the disaster which is going to be faced in very near future due to the enforcement of SAMRAJI Islamic(not Quranic)Shariat by the agents of Zionism.Quran declares War against all discriminatory forces against Humanity & peace e.g 1. Fironiat(Dictatorship) 2.Qarooniat(Capitalism) 3.Ahbar o Rahbaniat(Priesthood,Mullaiat,Talibaniat,Piri etc)4.Samriat( Chiria type Yellow journalism).
Have this pro-rightist Zionist media & the intelegentia of the society courage to open the adebate between Pure Quranic Deen e Islam & Prevailing Samraji Imperialistic so called a religion named as Islam which is a product of chistian, jew,Iranian Bramka & Abbasi imperials conspiracy implanted 12 centuries ago???
And i dont like to waste energy to comment on intelectual SLAVES of certain vested interests & agendas like Mr.Sethi
