Thank you, General Beg, for revealing Pak establishment’s views on #TuQ and Shias – by Ghayyur Hussaini
Former Chief of Army Staff General Mirza Aslam Beg worte an article in daily “The Nation” (Name of the Game) published on 21st January 2013. This article gave his(establishment) opinion of the events that unfolded last week, especially long march of Tahir ul Qadri.
The article clearly shows the military establishment’s frustration on the outcome of Dr. Qadri’s Long March since it did not result in a military coup and it was great show of power by the silent majority, i.e., the Sunni Brelvi sect which does not embrace radical Deobandi-Wahhabi Taliban ideology. Moreover, like Shias, Sunni Brelvis too have zero rate of terrorist activity destroying the image of Islam and Pakistan like suicide bombings, attack on Sri Lankan team, Mehran, Kamra base attacks or even attacks on Pakistan Army.
Although General Beg is frustrated that Army could not take over, his article has dashed away speculations about Tahir ul Qadri of being establishment agent. These doubts were raised when Qadri praised army and judiciary and bashed parliamentarians. Instead, General Beg has hinted at Tahir ul Qadri being Zardari’s agent. These are his exacts words:
“Dr Qadri has been helped to create a new political power base of the left in Punjab, in support of the PPP, encouraging the religious right, to make similar demands for marches and jalsas in sensitive zones of Islamabad”.
See from above statement that despite being considered as religious leader by millions of Brelvis. Establishment considers Qadri as Left wing ally of PPP. The underlined words are more important and even dangerous if you are not a right wing establishment stooge. It clearly states that establishment wants religious right wing to have a similar march so that they can tighten their grip on Pakistani politics.
The next part of the article is rather interesting because it provides us with insight into pro-Deobandi pro-Wahbhabi mindset of Pakistan’s military establishment. I will analyze this sentence by sentence:
“The Shia community in Pakistan remains part of the majority”,
(As you know Shia Muslims are in numerical minority but the establishment considers Shias as vast part of majority. This majority must have a different definition, maybe the moderate Sunni majority (most of them Sunni Barelvis but also including moderate Deobandis and moderate Ahle Hadith) that does not consider Taliban, ASWJ, LeJ, LeT terrorists as Muslim Heroes, Taliban as holy fighters, suicide bombing as a reaction to drone, or establishment right wing as sane group of individuals)
“yet with the emergence of Qadri’s phenomenon, the Shia representation in his movement,”
{Since MWM did not officially join the “Qadri’s phenomenon”. (They had their concerns regarding the outcome as a military coup). I am guessing, establishment was pissed at Agha Murtaza Poya seen on screen in discussions with politicians that came to negotiate.}
“the killing of Hazaras in Quetta by foreign agents, which caused countrywide agitation.”
Although I agree with Aslam Beg that the killers of Shia Hazara are paid by a foreign country (Saudi Arabia) backed by the only political and military superpower on earth right now, but these foreign agents (read Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, currently operating as ASWJ) has been used formed, trained, used and saved by the military establishment several times. The Sipah Sahaba was created and nurtured by none other than Gen Beg’s boss, General Zia ul Haq. In recent years, Pakistan army has used LeJ-ASWJ terrorists as negotiator with terrorists who seized GHQ and their leader Malik Ishaq was flown from jail in a military helicopter to GHQ for having negotiations with GHQ attackers. Since, those negotiations were not televised, most people don’t know about it. General Sahib should have applauded the nation for finally coming out and showing agitation towards terrorists that destroyed 150 families in 10 minutes of January 10.
“Thus, there was a visible design to create a Shia power-base in the country, which our enemies have failed to create, despite years of Shia-Sunni riots, killings and direct foreign intervention, such as in Parachinar”
Interestingly, General Beg refers to an imaginary Shia power-base in Pakistan but doesn’t mention Sunni Barelvi even once in his article!
Now this statement shows the exact mentality of the establishment that also reveals why Shia are being treated the way they are being treated in Pakistan. Despite of raising green and white flags on 14 of August, paying taxes, arguing when outsider abuses Pakistan, shouting and crying when Pakistan wins or lose a cricket match, The establishment considers us as enemies, He says Tahir ul Qadri scenario is a design to create “Shia power base”. Now this is complete crap, since Shias did not get any benefit out of the Qadri-Govt deal. Aslam Beg sounds like that Sipah Sahaba guy on Twitter who would claim that his new born is due to Shia kafir’s action of kufr.
I want to comment on last sentence of above statement first “Direct foreign intervention such as Parachinaar” is an old excuse that establishment uses for their son’s biggest defeat at the hands of few educated youth who refused to surrender to Taliban, gave away thousands of life and not an inch of land was lost to Taliban. Yes, the Taliban that are supposed to be Godly, the Taliban that are undefeated, The Taliban that were suppose to save military when an enemy attacks, The Taliban who kill own military people out of ego and this is ignored by this establishment. When this Almighty force was defeated at cost of thousands of martyrdoms, Establishment claimed that Parachinaar Shias were helped by Iran army, Hezbollah of Lebanon and Karzai forces. Trust me, they still stick to this claim. Also notice he uses Shia-Sunni riots, which is ultimate objective but Shias and Sunnis both refuse to fall for these terrorist plans.
He also talks about our enemy wanting a shia power base, I need to know that enemy, I need to get help from enemy since I am fed up of seeing crying friends over their brother’s dead body. I am fed up of seeing life less mothers gazing in skies after murder of their son. I am fed up of seeing a helpless old father looking for help in lifting his son’s coffin. I need action against these terrorists. Pakistan needs to get rid of this terrorist-sponsoring establishment and its ideology of doom. I want Pakistan to prosper and develop like other developed countries. It is not possible without countering and eliminating terrorists and their sponsors.

The name of the game
By: Mirza Aslam Beg | January 21, 2013 . 5
Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s long march started from Lahore on January 13, 2013, challenging “the most corrupt government and the equally corrupt opposition.” But unfortunately, it fell into the lap of the people, who Dr Qadri had been referring to as ‘Yazids’ during the five-day sit-in, after Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on January 17 signed the agreement reached between him and the government’s delegation in Islamabad. It was nothing short of a miracle. The way this drama has been enacted, demonstrates the brilliance of the mastermind and the mavericks of Dr Qadri that led to the signing of the accord, demands a careful examination – act by act:Act One. During his seven years of self-exile in Canada, Dr Qadri preached the concept of liberal and political Islam and having won the West’s acceptability returned to Pakistan for “the cleansing of corrupt politicians of the present and future governments.” He held the first rally at Lahore on December 23, 2012, which was attended by over a million devotees; it was a surprise, indeed! He was provided full protocol and the security that is normally reserved for heads of state.Act Two. Dr Qadri gave the government three weeks to remove all the ills and improve the situation. Otherwise, he would lead a protest march towards Islamabad. Needless to say, the government facilitated him to establish his camp opposite Aiwan-e-Sadr, where no other demonstration or rally has ever been held. For three days and nights, Dr Qadri kept pressurising the government for the acceptability of his demands of “termination of government and threat of takeover by the people’s parliament.” On the fourth day (January 17), Dr Qadri threatened the government to come to terms with his demands, or else face severe consequences. The government got nervous and established a high-level team to negotiate with him.Act Three. The negotiations started after dusk and within four hours succeeded in reaching an agreement that was also signed by the PM. It was read out by Dr Qadri to the utter joy of his devotees. Dr. Qadri and the members of the negotiation team also rejoiced at the deal as “a great victory for democracy and a befitting gift to the nation.” By midnight the drama ended, curtains were drawn and the weary devotees started returning homes, leaving behind a stinking Jinnah Avenue. In the past, there have been several political developments in Pakistan that were unique; some bordering on absurdity like in 1971, the majority in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) chose to separate from the minority in West Pakistan. The political movement of 1968 brought General Yahya Khan to power. In 1977, COAS General Ziaul Haq came into power after the overthrow of Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. In 1999, the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), led by the PPP produced General Musharraf, who ruled the country for over 10 years. But having said that, Dr Qadri’s phenomenon is quite different and demands a careful analysis:i Dr Qadri sought political asylum in Canada in 2005, but he is now politicking in Pakistan.i Dr Qadri drew a large crowed of over a million in Lahore, drawn mainly from Punjab, but he could not muster more than 35-40 thousand in Islamabad. There was no visible participation from other provinces either, yet he claimed to speak for the Pakistani nation. The government responded to his threat of revolution, at a time when he was totally isolated and his devotees were quietly slipping away. Why did the government boost-him-up, when his options were limited and he was almost in a blind alley.i Dr Qadri put up seven demands, five were rejected and only two were conceded with amendments. In the process the Prime Minister was made to sign the agreement relegating himself to the position of Dr Qadri, the head of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), who was also awarded the right to suggest the names of the care-taker Prime Minister and also to change the composition of the Election Commission.i The government also awarded sanctity to Qadri’s movement by calling it Long March Declaration. Thus for all political purposes, Dr Qadri was made part of the government.i Dr Qadri has been helped to create a new political power base of the left in Punjab, in support of the PPP, encouraging the religious right, to make similar demands for marches and jalsas in sensitive zones of Islamabad.i The Shia community in Pakistan remains part of the majority, yet with the emergence of Qadri’s phenomenon, the Shia representation in his movement, coincided with the killing of Hazaras in Quetta by foreign agents, which caused countrywide agitation. Thus, there was a visible design to create a Shia power-base in the country, which our enemies have failed to create, despite years of Shia-Sunni riots, killings and direct foreign intervention, such as in Parachinar.Who is the brain behind Dr Qadri’s movement? How it will impact the coming elections? Who is it to foretell peace and political stability in Pakistan? Thus, the enigma of Dr Qadri’s movement for change would linger on, leaving one wondering if change means tons of revolutionary garbage to be left behind on the clean and shining Jinnah Avenue of Islamabad? The writer is a former chief of army staff.Email: [email protected]

God Damn it, every body knew it was establishment, acting all the organized terrorist acts…but this proved that we were right! but, what is the solution????
Some Comments from Facebook, not a new phenomenon:
Arguably the single biggest tragedy, in two decades of Shia’s massacre in Pakistan, occurred in April 1988 in Gilgit. In April 1988, soon after Eid ul Fitr, a Lashkar consisting of thousands of people attacked Gilgit. Starting from Mansehra, it passed through Kohistan and was organized at Chilas. It travelled for over two days but the government made no attempt to stop it and also did not, at all, interfered as the killings and rapes went on. Afterwards the government put the blame on RAW, as is usual in Pakistan. It was under Zia’s rule and Pervez Musharraf was stationed as a Brigadier in Gilgit. All pleas to the army from Junejo’s administration were ignored. At one time both the Corps Commander and Pervez Musharraf refuse to take the calls from Junejo’s principal secretary.
In the mayhem that occurred more than 800 Shias were killed as per independent estimates. The locals put the toll at above 1,200. More than a thousand women were raped, as per independent reports. Scores of Shia villages were pillaged and burned. So much so that even livestock owned by Shias were slaughtered.
In 1986 the militants, connived at and abetted by the security forces, attacked Shias in Parachinar and Kurram Agency. Hundreds were killed. Since then Shias in Kurram Agency have constantly lived under threat and practically under siege for the past six years now. Thousands have died in Parachinar. At one time average of more than five Shias were being beheaded on a daily basis. The major incidents, with significant death tolls, have occurred in 1986, 1987, 1996, 2001, 2007, and 2012. Parachinar’s Shias have suffered the most in Pakistan. Sequestered from the world and besieged by inimical enemies on all sides they have become highly impoverished and lack even critical necessities such as medicines. It is a pity that the world has largely ignored Parachinar where a generation of Shias continues to be mowed down in utter impunity. The worlds, in general, and the government of Pakistan, in particular, seem to have abandoned the Shias of Kurram Agency to their fate.
Other major killing fields in Pakistan include Quetta, Hangu, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Karachi; which have now, for many years, witnessed a persistent and ruthless sectarian-cleansing of Shias. For example in 1998, in Hangu, over 70 Shias were slaughtered in one day. The massacre was led by Javed Ibrahim Paracha, the sitting member of National Assembly from the area on PMLN ticket, who has been instrumental in persecuting the Shias of Hangu and Kohat over the last 20 years and is also supposed to have played a role in Bari Imam’s suicidal bombing. However, there is no longer any safe place for Shias in Pakistan. For example 22 Shias were massacred in Lahore in one instance in January 1998.
Zia’s aide de camp (ADC), Majid Raza Gillani, was involved in the murder of Arif Hussain Hussaini in August 1988. He was thrown out of the army and is still under trial in Peshawar as Hussaini’s blood calls for justice
Pakistan’s then trusted allies and strategic assets Taliban conquered Mazar-e-Sharif in 1998, killed Ustad Abdul Ali Mazari, slaughtered the local population, razed houses, and raped women. Several thousand were killed and
thousands of women were raped. After the siege of Bamiyan in 2001, several thousand Hazara were slaughtered and their women were raped in abundance. Both SSP and LeJ were active cohorts in these massacres
General Beg Sahib is “famous” for his ridiculous themes, double-speak and double acts. During first US-Iraq war, he praised Saddam’s “Strategic Defiance” and at the same time sent soldiers to Saudi Arabia to defend the Holy Mamlikat. Then he went there to “visit” the troops and during ‘Yatra’ he sought audience with the King. The Saudi King (Fahd) was mad at his ‘strategic duality’; prior to granting him audience, the King made him to wait for hours in the waiting room showing him his true worth. After retirement he is enjoying ‘strategic rest’ in a villa built over extensive plot area in Rawalpindi.
a point to be noticed, the critical point website belongs to establishment i bet. the articles posted here must be once observed. a website who calls himself shia and acting against. a website who always posts the copy posts and editing in that. the man who is running the mentioned site is a man of establishment.
Another issue is that video games usually are serious anyway with the primary focus on understanding rather than amusement. Although, it comes with an entertainment facet to keep your kids engaged, every game is often designed to work on a specific skill set or course, such as instructional math or scientific disciplines. Thanks for your posting.
