Geo TV correspondent, Dr Javed Kanwal, has recently filed a story in Geo TV and The News in which he claimed that the Pakistan government has succeeded in removing from a lawyer’s office evidence of the cases against influential personalities filed in the Swiss courts and withdrawn by the Musharraf regime under the NRO.

First of all, who is Javed Kanwal? Dr Javed Kanwal is a brother-in-law (sala) of Ansar Abbasi. He, not unlike Abbasi, is a member of the Hizb-ut-Tahrir and the Taliban Union of Journalists (TUJ) and a member of a sleeping cell of Al Qaeda in Europe.

Dr Javed Kanwal has been previously arrested on a number of times in Pakistan and abroad because of his pro-terrorism and pro-sectarian tendencies.

BARCELONA, Spain: The Barcelona police arrests Dr Javed Kanwal

BARCELONA, Spain: The Barcelona police kept the correspondent of Geo TV, Dr Javed Kanwal, in custody/detention here on Wednesday and released him after more than two hours. Dr Javed had gone to Spain three days earlier from Italy for preparing a report about the 10 Pakistanis, who were arrested there on suspicion of terrorism.

The police intercepted Javed when he was about to enter the underground railway station to travel to his place after interviewing the caretaker of the Masjid Abu Ayub Ansari. The cops grabbed him, tied his hands behind his back and took him to a police station, where he was questioned on different matters. They also checked him with the help of sniffer dogs. The police also obtained a copy of the two audio-video cassettes on which Dr Javed had recorded the interview.

Immediately after receiving information about the police mistreatment to Dr Javed, the journalist community in Barcelona held an emergency meeting and demanded of the Pakistan government to seek explanation from the Spanish government over the matter.

Sectarian hate speech against the Ahmadi community

The present day Pakistani mullah and vernacular pressman may follow the edicts of their forebears or not, but some of them do cherish and avail of the convenient tool provided to them by some of their controversial and misguided clerics who decreed that falsehood in support of religion is permitted, indeed essential at times. …The most recent fabrication of their acolytes is the story that it is Ahmadis who devised and implemented the blasphemous caricatures in Denmark. How is that!

The story was initiated in London by someone called Dr Javed Kanwal, and was published in the daily Jang on its internet edition of March 3, 2006. This bogus doctor is not even a qualified dispenser. Reportedly Kanwal was in Italy from where he intimated what was happening in Denmark. In order to follow up the conspiracy, Kanwal came over to Pakistan. Here the mullahs loved his lie and started repeating it in their conferences which they were holding in the name of ‘honour of the Prophet’. Their statements were published in the vernacular press of Lahore without verification. The mullah built up a sand castle on the foundation provided by Kanwal. For example, mullah Allah Yar Arshad and his gang from Chiniot issued a statement that Qadianis declared at the Royal Hotel in Denmark that the prophetic era of Muhammad is over and has been replaced by that of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani… the real instigators of blasphemous caricatures are Qadianis; Mirza Masroor directed the event… Mirza Masroor should be arrested by Interpol and brought back to Pakistan, etc. etc. (The daily Aman, Faisalabad; March 8, 2006)

A few weeks later, this fabrication is on the wane. However, the mullah cannot be blamed for lack of effort. The present day Islam needs no enemies in the presence of friends like these (such as Javed Kanwal) who live on falsehood and trickery.

The Nation’s Report on Javed Kanwal’s Story

Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said he is absolutely ignorant of any such operation (in Geneva as reported by Javed Kanwal). He, however, asserted that a section of the media (Geo TV/ Jang Group) is victimising President Asif Ali Zardari with its heinous campaign. The high-ups in Interior Ministry also said they are not abreast of any such report, adding that the matter related to the NAB and the Law Ministry.

So, why did Javed Kanwal fabricate a false story against President Zardari:

1.  Javed Kanwal has been persuading the Pakistan High Commission in the UK for the last few months in order to get a diplomatic passport for his family to avoid the insult of body search and embarrassment that he has to face at airports and immigration checkpoints because of his tarnished, criminal track record.

2. Javed Kanwal is obviously upset with the democratic government of Pakistan because according to Javed Kanwal, secular parties (e.g. PPP, ANP, MQM) are  la-deen (faithless); he believes in the restoration of the Taliban style khilafah in Pakistan instead of the infidel model of democracy.

3. Javed Kanwal, along with Dr Shahid Masood, Ansar Abbasi, Muhammad Saaleh Zafir, is a member of the Taliban Union of Journalists.

4. In filing this story, Javed Kanwal had the full support of the owner and CEO of Geo TV/ Jang Group, Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman, who is blackmailing President Zardari in order to gain 400 crore rupees .

We appeal to the governments of Switzerland, UK and Italy to arrest this man, Javed Kanwal, and investigate his pro-Taliban activities. This man is a threat to peace where ever he is. He must be monitored.

، اس میں ویسے تو بہت سے پہلوؤں کا احاطہ کیا گیا تھا لیکن ایک چیز جس کا مجھے تھوڑا شک تھا اور میری اپنی راۓ بھی تھی کو اس مقالے نے استحکام بخشا . اس مقالے میں اس بات کی طرف اشارہ کیا گیا تھا کہ فلاحی تنظیمیں بھی انسانی مصائب و مشکلات کا سبب ہیں . وجہ صاف ظاہر ہے کہ اگر انسانیت مشکلات اور مصائب کا شکار نہ ہو تو ان تنظیموں کا اپنا وجود خطرے میں پڑ جاتا ہے. یہ تنظیمیں کبھی بھی مرض کو جڑ سے اکھاڑنے کی بات نہیں کرتیں بلکہ وقتی حل کی بات کرتی ہیں اور ان کا وجود اور حثیت ایک طفیلیے کی طرح ہے .اگر مصائب ہیں تو یہ ہیں اگر نہیں تو ان کی بھی کوئی ضرورت نہیں .

یہ ساری تمہید اس لئے باندھی گئی ہے کہ ہمارے الیکٹرونک میڈیا کا کردار ( چند استثنائی مثالوں کو چھوڑ کر جیسےآج ٹی وی اور طلعت حسین وغیرہم ) بھی بعینی فلاحی تنظیموں والا ہے. ان لوگوں کی روٹی روزی کا انحصار ہی مار دھاڑ سے بھر پور شاہکار پر ہے. ان کو سنسنی خیزی پھیلاۓ اور بلا تحقیق خبریں دئے بغیر شاید نیند نہیں آتی . بغیر کسی ٹھوس ثبوت کے محض شک کی بنیاد پر خبریں چلا دینا نا صرف صحافتی اقدار کے خلاف ہے بلکہ سریحاً بددیانتی بھی ہے. الله جل تعالیٰ نے قرآن پاک میں مسلمانوں کو گمان سے منع کیا ہے اور اس کو گناہ قرار دیا ہے.

مان لیا کہ زرداری وعدہ خلاف ہے ، جھوٹا ہے ، راشی ہے، اس نے ملک کو لوٹا ہے ، اس نے مال بنایا ہے ، لیکن کیا وہ پرویزمشرّف جیسے زانی شرابی، خائن اور ہزاروں مسلمانوں کے قاتل سے بھی گیا گزرا ہے . میں زرداری کی صفائی نہیں دے رہا اور نا مجھے اس کا کوئی شوق ہے بلکہ میں اس کے سخت نقادوں میں شامل ہوں اور اس کو بطور صدر اپنی اور ملک کی بے عزتی سمجھتا ہوں لیکن

کیا جرنیلوں اور ان کے بچوں کے کارناموں پر کوئی صحافتی سکوپ یا خبر عاجل آتی ہے

یہ بات یاد رکھیں کہ مریض کے مرنےکے ساتھ سرطان کی بھی موت واقع ہو جاتی ہے . اور زرداری کے جانے کے بعد صحافتی سرطان بھی مر جاے گا یا کوئی نیا میزبان ڈھونڈنا پڑے گا.
