Here are some Facebook status updates of Mohammad Shehzad, regular columnist of The Friday Times (TFT) blog (owner: Najam Sethi, editor: Raza Rumi). It’s the same writer who published a number of articles in TFT promoting and humanizing Deobandi takfiri terrorists of banned Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ). His recent interview with ASWJ Chief Ludhianvi was shamelessly defended and justified by Najam Sethi and Raza Rumi. Only in Pakistan, this bigot is a regular columnist of a “liberal” magazine. However, Shehaza is not alone. Talat Hussain too, a leading journalist, seemingly English speaking liberal, has similar views about Malala. This shows that in Pakistan, fake liberals and Deobandi right-wing fascists are not much different when it comes to typical Deobandi Salafi bigotry and narrowmindedness.

Promotion and defence by Raza Rumi, editor of The Friday Times blog

Lectured Deobandi students on importance of media, social media at a seminary in Rawalpindi. Friend Raza Rumi was supposed to be the speaker but he could not make it. I had to represent Rumi. I was amazed. The kinds of things I said – if I would have said in public, I would have been killed! The students heard me with patience. Such dialogue can make the two classes know each other viewpoint. Will be writing a report on this for The Friday Times.
