Pakistan’s ISI-backed Punjabi judiciary once again demonstrated its institutional hatred of Shia Muslims today by releasing the notorious leader of Jihadi-sectarian organization, the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (also known as the Punjabi Taliban or Sipah-e-Sahaba). Punjabi judges, backed by Punjabi PMLN and Punjabi generals, released a Punjabi terrorist to enable further massacres of Shias, Ahmadis, Christians and other target killed communities.
Malik Ishaq is released less than a week after his followers killed at least 34 Shia Muslims in his home town Rahim Yar Khan. According to a news report (Tribune, 20 Jan 2012):
A review board of the Lahore High Court (LHC), on Friday 20 Jan 2012, denied an extension for the detention of Malik Ishaq, former leader of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, for one more month and issued orders for his release. The Punjab government had requested that the detention, which is ending on January 25, be extended for 30 more days saying that his release would be a threat to peace.
Ishaq’s detention had earlier been extended by the review board on December 16 after the DPOs of Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar had said his release could result in a law and order ‘situation’.
The review board asked the government if they had filed any cases against Ishaq if he was a threat to peace, to which they had nothing to show to the court.
Ishaq had prayed that he had the right to be free according to the constitution if there were no more cases against him as he had been awarded bail in the previous ones.
Ishaq, accused in 44 cases involving 70 killings, has been acquitted in 34 cases and granted bail in 10.
He was released from Kot Lakhpat jail on July 14, 2011 after 14 years of imprisonment when the Supreme Court (SC) granted him bail in the case involving a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team.
Ishaq was then detained in Rahim Yar Khan jail for 10 days under the Maintenance of Public Order Act. The detention was extended for 60 days on October 25.
While right-wing proxies of Pakistan’s military establishment are legitimately celebrating Malik Ishaq’s release, ISI’s liberal proxies in the English speaking class are busy in blaming the prosecution, ignoring the important links between ISI and LeJ and ISI and judiciary. For example, Pakistan’s English media routinely presents Malik Ishaq as “Sri Lankan team attack suspect”. Murder of 70 Shias doesn’t mean much to this class.
Last time when Malik Ishaq was released from jail, he killed many Shia Muslims in various parts of the country, and the news items were either ignored or misrepresented in Pakistan’s mainstream media. He is now on next bloody mission.

لاہور ہائی کورٹ نے ہزاروں شیعہ مسلمانوں کا قاتل کالعدم تنظیم لشکر جھنگوی کے رہنما ملک اسحاق کی نظر بندی ختم کر کے رہا کرنے کا حکم دیدیا۔ لاہور میں سری لنکن ٹیم پر حملے اور دیگر مقدمات میں ملوث ہونے کے الزام میں کالعدم تنظیم لشکر جھنگوی کے رہنما ملک اسحاق کو گرفتار کرنے کے بعد ضمانت پر رہا کر دیا گیا تھا جس کے بعد پنجاب حکومت نے (ایم پی او) کے تحت آئین ایک ماہ کیلئے نظر بند کر دیا تھا ایک ماہ کی نظر بندی کے خاتمے کے بعد انہیں جمعہ کو لاہور ہائی کورٹ کے تین رکنی ریویو بورڈ کے سامنے پیش کیا گیا۔ ریویو بورڈ نے ملک اسحاق کی نظر بندی میں مزید توسیع دینے سے انکار کرتے ہوئے فوری طور پر رہا کرنے کا حکم دے دیا ہے۔
عوامی حلقوں نے ملک اسحق کی رہائی کو دہشت گردی کے فروغ سے تعبیر کرتے ہوئے حکومت سے ان کی دوبارہ گرفتاری کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ انسانی حقوق کی ایک تنظیم کے رہنما سلمان رشید کا کہنا ہے کہ ملک اسحاق کی رہائی سے مذہبی منافرت میں شروع ہو گئی تھی اور ملک ریاض نے علی پور میں جا کر مخالف فرقہ کے خلاف نعرے بازی کی تھی جس پر شہر کے حالات کشیدہ ہو گئے تھے۔ فائرنگ کا بھی تبادلہ ہوا تھا جس پر دونوں جانب سے متعدد افراد زخمی ہو گئے تھے۔ سلمان رشید کا کہنا ہے کہ ملک اسحق کی رہائی سے ایک بار پھر دہشت گردی کو فروغ ملے گا اور فرقہ واریت کو ہوا ملنے سے صوبے کا امن خراب ہو گا۔

Khanpur blast: FIR lodged against Malik Ishaq

BAHALWALPUR: A first information report has been lodged against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi founder Malik Ishaq in the Khanpur blast case.
The FIR names six people as responsible for the attack on a Shia chehlum procession in Khanpur on January 14, which killed 21 and injured scores of others.
According to SHO Jam Manzoor Ahmed, FIR no. 302-324-109 was lodged on Friday under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.
The FIR names Ishaq, his son Malik Usman, Ghulam Quraishi, Shafiq Dahir, Malik Yaqub and Ghulam Rasool Shah. The complainant is Irshad Galkala.
The SHO said all of those named are from the LeJ.

This is one of many shameful decsions by LHC.
But, in all fairness, Punjab gov’t did ask for an extension of his detention which was denied by the court.
Now, I am not sure if it was just a face saving by Khdim Aala so that he can defend himself by saying we asked for an extension but judiciary denied us and Judiciary is independent.
PMLN sure is a “Nasoor” of Pakistan and PPP isn’t much better!
I am a Sunni and my heart cries for my Shia brothers. They are a mazloom community, nobody is helping them. Army, judiciary, government, media, all are watching silently.
