Altaf invites Army to save Pakistan
By Fasahat Mohiuddin
KARACHI: MQM founder Altaf Hussain on Monday said in a speech that he was inviting the Army to save Pakistan. He said he had never met the Army generals late night in the dark but was addressing them on a loudspeaker at a public meeting. He said those generals who will not support the feudal lords who had looted the national wealth will be declared patriotic generals.
Making a telephonic address from London at the 24th foundation day of the MQM Labour Division here on the Lal Qila grounds on Monday, the MQM founder called upon the “patriotic Army generals” to come on ground to save the oppressed people of this country, who are facing a severe economic crisis these days. He told the Army generals and policemen that time was running out, and they should support the masses and hold the feudal lords and those who had looted the national wealth accountable.
He said masses are at the moment looking towards the Army generals and that the Army will come forward to save them and the country.Stressing upon the Army generals, Altaf said if you can impose martial law in the country several times, then why these corrupt people cannot be held accountable. He further referred that all the time different people hold power from different political parties like a musical chair, now the Army generals should come forward and stop this game of musical chair of the PPP and PML-N for the sake of the masses.
He said the Army generals were fully aware that due to price hike people were committing suicide and selling their children, so the Army generals have to come forward to save the country. Altaf said he was seeking cooperation for the 98 percent people of Pakistan and said he would never accept those Army generals who would not support these 98 percent masses.
Altaf said he was not inviting the Army for martial law but urging them to come forward for the solidarity and integrity of Pakistan, and if they acted in a swift manner, then Pakistan will be saved. Altaf said the Army should think that poor people of this country got nothing in last 63 years except hunger, sky rocketing prices, suicides, thus, it was high time that Army generals came forward and did some practical work for the poor people of the country.
Altaf said he was today giving breaking news that the Boston Globe, USA, had published a story that the next mass upheaval will be in Pakistan after the masses protest started in Middle East. He said this report had also stated that the USA had always been pleased to support the elite class of Pakistan for its vested interests.
Referring to the revolution being witnessed these days in the Arab countries, he said this revolution had been only brought by armies, which extended support to the masses and defied the imperial rulers. He specially mentioned the situation of Karachi where petrol pumps were closed and masses took to the streets and said similar protests were seen all over the country, and these things could lead to revolution.
Altaf also asked the Army to see the situation in the Punjab where the PML-N had ousted the PPP. “This is not good for the country.” He further said that the PML-N leaders after getting the PPP ousted delivered speeches that gave colour of ethnic polarization.
He said at present, the country needs a political party that has brought middle class people to the corridors of the Parliament House. Referring to the World Cup, he said this was being held in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and not in Pakistan, and this is just because we (Pakistanis) are involved in wrongdoings. Altaf demanded of the government that general amnesty be announced in Baloshistan and said it was heading towards separation.

People, army should join hands to bring revolution: Altaf
Staff Report
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that generals should support the people for bringing about a revolution in the country.
He was addressing a huge gathering of workers and office-bearers of MQM’s Labour Division at Lal Qila ground Azizabad on the occasion of the 24th foundation day of the labour division.
He said he was ridiculed by all whenever he spoke about a revolution in the country and now everyone in the country was chanting slogans for a revolution.
“It had been more than 63 years since Pakistan came into being,” he said adding, “If we compare Pakistan with other countries, which gained independence at the same time, we will come to know that other countries have made significant economic progress and had considerable technological advancement.” “The economic condition in Pakistan has changed from bad to worse,” he added.
“It is being said that the prices of petroleum products will be raised once again. Everyone has heard that the government is printing currency notes worth Rs 2 billion every day and borrowing huge loans from the State Bank of Pakistan on daily basis.”
If countries could be run by printing currency notes alone, then no nation in the world would have been poor, he added. “There are some principles of the economy that must be adhered to while printing currency notes. The more currency notes you print, the higher the inflation, unemployment and economic degradation,” he said, quoting a report published in a US newspaper, which considered Pakistan to be next in line for a public uprising.”
He said, “The newspaper says that the United States had always been preoccupied with the power elite of Pakistan with utter disregard to the plight of the common people. The US continued to lend support to the power elite in the country and felt comfortable in working with the dictators ignoring the realities in Pakistan.”
Altaf said, “I want to tell the patriotic generals that the people of Pakistan need your help. They always ask what I mean by the term patriotic generals … if all the generals are patriotic then why do we hear about bringing some generals to trial? A patriotic general will be he, who supports the people of Pakistan and comes to their help.” He questioned, “Can the patriotic generals come forward to save the country and rescue it from the grip of looters and plunderers? They have ruled the country for a number of years so can’t they for once come forward for the people of Pakistan?”

Yaar inqalab ab aa hee jaye….aayat-e-kareema ka khatam karao!
When Altaf Bhai and his jiyalas put pressure on the Government to ease the pain of the masses by cutting back on spending, perhaps they should put their money where their mouth is. It is no secret, that “jiyalas” have to part with 10 percent of their income to feed the “Royal Guest of Edgeware Shareef.” How ironic, the poor and deprived have to feed the “party of the poor” and its chief. So that is an indirect taxation on the poor and penniless public from the “only sympathizer of such class.” How about giving them a break, so they can cope with a legitimate price hike, our dear Quaid?
inspiring I really like what you have to say it all just sounds right! I learned about the power of prayer through a membership my aunt gave me. this turned my life around http://prayerawakenings.com
We are very unfortunate people. We do not have main stream media. We do not have impartial judiciary. Our democracy is constantly jeopardized by groups having personal interests. Our military is not committed to our constitution. Our priests are devoid of religion. We have very small leaders with highly inflated big egos. This country is labeled as a democratic country but how unlucky, the democratic leaders of this country themselves trying to destabilize it. They are democratic but malign image of leaders elected democratically. They believe in mandate of people but they defy it. They talk to deter coupe de etate but themselves encourage military to intervene. How unlucky this country is?
