Terrorism strikes the US again with the fanaticism of the Wahhabi Salafi hate and intolerance. Shooter Omar Mir Seddique Mateen went on his religious purification in the early hours of June 12, 2016 as he shot down over 100 people murdering 49 at an Orlando nightclub called Pulse. 29 year old Mateen (aka Seddique Mateen) called 911 and pledged an allegiance to ISIS ( a form of religious sanctioning) before the killings in a similar way that Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik did in 2015 San Bernardino massacre.
“Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God [in Arabic]. I let you know, I’m in Orlando and I did the shootings,I pledge allegiance to [omitted] may God protect him [in Arabic], on behalf of [omitted],” Mateen told the dispatcher.
Mateen told a 911 dispatcher during a 50-second phone call at 2:35 a.m. on June 12. See Article
Like Farrok and Tashfeen, Mateen went to KSA visited Saudi Arabia. The terrorist visited Saudi Arabia in both 2011 and 2012 for weeks at a time. The FBI had flagged and interviewed Mateen in 2013 after his coworkers reported him for making “inflammatory” comments about radical Islamic propaganda.
During the 9-1-1 call, Mateen praised Wahhabi radicals Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bombers whose bombs maimed and killed over 264 civilians including children like Martin Richards also pictured next to a smiling Dzhokhar minutes before the terror attack in 2013.
Mateen also saluted his fellow Salafi Jihadi ‘bro’ Mo also a disciple of the mad Salafi hate preacher Abu Taubah aka Marcus Dwayne Robertson former associate of 1993 WTC bombing terrorist an Bin Laden associate ‘The Blind Sheikh’. See article.
‘A source familiar with the investigation tells CBS News gunman Omar Mateenreferenced the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in a Facebook message posted moments before the Orlando nightclub shooting.
“Y ou kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes..now taste the Islamic state vengeance [sic],” Mateen wrote, according to the source.
“In the next few days you will see attacks from the Islamic State [ISIS] in the usa,” the post said….
ISIS claimed responsibility for the shooting on the group’s official radio station, al-Bayan.
“We begin from America, where Allah has enabled brother Omar Mateen, one of the soldiers of the Caliphate in America, to carry out a raid where he was able to infiltrate a Crusaders’ gathering at a gay night club in Orlando, Florida,” the radio report said.
“Allah enabled him to inflict heavy casualties amongst the filthy Crusaders,” the ISIS statement said. “He killed and injured over a hundred of them. This is the biggest raid to be carried in America after the raid of Manhattan 16 years ago. All praise to Allah.”
Mateeen’s Salafist ‘bros’ love him mowing down infidel gays:
Our enemy in the West is not Islam, it’s a fifth column of Wahhabi Salafi hate preachers and their appeasers who allow the Wahhabi Salafi Takfiri Jihadi ideologyto proliferate and radicalize Muslim youth to commit atrocities here and abroad as foreign fighters. The West cannot allow the extremists to hide behind the skirts of religion, so called charities and misguided notions of free speech to facilitate radicalization and lone wolf terrorism in our homelands. ‘Omar Mateen graduated from community college with a criminal justice degree, worked as a security guard. St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said Mateen was removed from an assignment at the county’s courthouse in 2013 after he made inflammatory comments about women, Jews and a shooting at Fort Hood.’
Mateen planned this terror attack for months “Mateen’s wife, who is expected to be charged as an accessory in her husband’s attack, reportedly has told authorities Mateen began casing targets as early as April. He was regularly training with firearms well before April. Several weeks before he massacred 49 at an Orlando gay nightclub, Muslim terrorist Omar Seddique Mateen transferred over his interest in his Florida home to his older sister Sabrina Abasin and Afghan brother-in-law Mustafa Abasin, aka Mustafa Aurakzai. ateen clearly was prepared to die in a gun battle with police during the June 12 attack….Abasin is listed on state articles of incorporation papers as a founding director of The Durand Jirga Inc a pro-Taliban nonprofit group set up by Mateen’s father, Seddique Mir Mateen. Abasin’s wife, Sabrina Seddique Abasin, also sits on its board….
In a recent video posted on the Web, Mateen expresses gratitude toward the Afghan Taliban, who stone homosexuals to death and launch terrorist attacks on U.S. soldiers, calling them “our warrior brothers.” He has criticized U.S. actions in Afghanistan, and complained about American and other Western “foreigners” in his home country. Abasin, also active in Afghan politics, has echoed that criticism….In a paper he recently posted in Farsi, Abasin criticizes Afghans who have adopted American culture, according to an English translation by CounterJihad.com. He also rails against tribal chiefs who do not speak out against democracy in Afghanistan. ” See article
Deranged, or fanatical, ISIS sympathisers see it as their religious duty to kill for their God as a form or pious devotion to the path of righteousness.
When fanatics are on the warpath it’s no good
As long as religious fanatics funded by Saudi Arabia flood Muslim minds with Wahhabi hate and intolerance, we shall see religious based violence of this kind played out all over the world whether they pledge allegiance to a self-professed Caliph in some rat hole in Raqqa Syria in 2016 or some Mahdi demi God who takes over the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca as Juhayman al-Otaybi did in 1979.
Mateen didn’t grow up a madman, he was like so many radicals indoctrinated . However unlike many of the recent terrorists who converted to radical Wahhabi Islam after a life of drugs and crime, Mateen slowly got brainwashed from youth into extremism like the terrorists we see in Pakistan that get spewed out of the Madrassah https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/study-finds-madrassas-training-terrorists-pakistan-maha-hamdan?trk=hb_ntf_MEGAPHONE_ARTICLE_POST . ‘Mateen first attended The Islamic Center of Ft. In a statement made this afternoon, FBI Agent-in-charge Ron Hopper said Mateen had been interviewed by the FBI in 2014 because of alleged ties to the U.S. suicide bomber Moner Abusalha. Abusalha, son of a Palestinian father and American mother, also grew up in Florida, where his friends called him “Mo.” On May 25 2014, at the age of 22, Abusalha died while driving a truck packed with explosives into a government outpost in Syria and detonating the charge.http://abcnews.go.com/US/florida-muslims-express-despair-frustration-gay-nightclub-massacre/story?id=39802008
Here are two videos of the Imam:
“This is remarkably similar to the San Bernardino shootings. There’s a lot of overlap in the two networks. They tie together,” Department of Homeland Security whistleblower Philip Haney said.
The Islamic Center of Ft. Pierce has connections to Tablighi Jamaat which is directly linked to an organization called the Sharia Board of America who espouse radical Salafi views as exported by the Wahhabi’s from Saudi Arabia.
‘The Fort Pierce mosque’s website features a link that demonstrates its relationship to the Shariah Board of America, a division of the Rahmat-e-Alam Foundation, which operates the Darul Uloom Chicago madrassa. The madrassa is closely affiliated with the Institute of Islamic Education.’ [Article].
‘In France, as many as “80% percent of the Islamist extremists” have come from Tablighi ranks, prompting French intelligence officers to call Tablighi Jamaat the ‘antechamber of fundamentalism….[just this week Wahhabi Salafi assassination squads are forming in France. Islamist radical Larossi Abballa stabbed to death Jean-Baptiste Salvainga, a French police commander to death in front of his house outside Paris, then killed his partner who also worked for the police. Larossi claimed allegiance to ISIShttps://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jun/13/french-policeman-stabbed-death-paris ].
Former Department of Homeland Security employee Philip Haney described Tablighi Jamaat as part of a “trans-national Islamist network” that was also affiliated with the Dar Al Uloom al Islamiyah mosque in San Bernardino, which terrorist Syed Rizwan Farook attended frequently. Assistant FBI Director Michael Heimbach said “We have significant presence of Tablighi Jamaat in the United States and we have found that al Qaeda used them for recruiting.”‘ Unsurprisingly the women in the movement observe complete hijab for which the Tablighi Jamaat is accused of keeping women “strictly subservient and second string”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablighi_Jamaat
Wahhabi Salafi groups like Tablighi Jamaat, Hizb ut–Tahrir, Islam4UK (and its incarnations), Forsane Alizza (FA- The Knights of Pride) aka ‘Sharia4France’ , Sharia4Belgium and Dawa FFM and German extremist group Milatau Ibrahim, are Fifth column hate preachers in the West .
There ‘appears to be a monumental campaign to bulldoze the more moderate strains of Islam, and replace them with the theo-fascist Saudi variety…. the House of Saud to promote the intolerant and extremist Wahhabi creed just domestically. But, unfortunately, for decades the Saudis have also lavishly financed its propagation abroad. Exact numbers are not known, but it is thought that more than $100 billion have been spent on exporting fanatical Wahhabism to various much poorer Muslim nations worldwide over the past three decades. It might well be twice that number. By comparison, the Soviets spent about $7 billionspreading communism worldwide in the 70 years from 1921 and 1991…
How does Saudi Arabia go about spreading extremism? The extremist agenda is not always clearly government-sanctioned, but in monarchies where the government money is spread around to various princes, there is little accountability for what the royal family does with their government funds. Much of the funding is via charitable organizations and is not military-related.
The money goes to constructing and operating mosques and madrassas that preach radical Wahhabism. The money also goes to training imams; media outreach and publishing; distribution of Wahhabi textbooks, and endowments to universities and cultural centers.’ How Saudi Wahhabism Is the Fountainhead of Islamist Terrorism
Tablighi Jamaat is a Salafi Muslim fundamentalist group has been working to bring large numbers of Salafi Muslims into the United States on the visa waiver program. ‘The FBI estimates that nearly 50,000 members of Tablighi Jamaat are active in the United States.[ Burton, Fred; Scott Stewart (23 January 2008).“Tablighi Jamaat: An Indirect Line to Terrorism”. Stratfor Intelligence. Retrieved 10 August 2009]. As of 2008, according to one estimate the organization had a presence in nearly 213 countries and a total following of between 100 and 150 million people. By some measures this made Tablighi Jamaat the largest Muslim movement in the World.Tablighi Jamaat began as an offshoot of the Deobandi movement, and a response to perceived deteriorating moral values and a supposed negligence of aspects of Islam. It expanded from a local to a national to an international movement….Tablighi Jamaat attracted significant public and media attention when it announced plans for the largest mosque in Europe to be built in London, United Kingdom (worryingly Tablighi Jamaat members were situated at 600 of Britain’s 1,350 mosques)….Tablighi Jamaat focused on marginalized populations — “migrant workers deprived of any cultural access to European society, `lost` teens, drug addicts”. ‘ Unsurprisingly many ISIS and Al Qaeda operatives or lone wolves have found Wahhabi Salafi religious fanaticism after a life of crime and drugs. Its a religious form of salvation from escaping a shameful lifestyle. The blood of innocents is the way they follow their path of redemption. [see Tablighi Jamaat]
Obama is wrong to say terrorism of the ISIS kind has ‘nothing’ to do with ‘religion’. Clearly Wahhabi Salafi ideology drives every terror attack.
ISIS and Wahhabi Salafi hate preachers are clearly the inspiration for attacks such as Paris, San Bernardino, Orlando….going right back to the WTC Bombings inspired by the Blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman in the 1990’s. These Lone Wolf/Home Grown attacks will be common place unless the Wahhabi hate preachers are silenced and their Saudi funding stopped. The shape of terror to come. Wahhabi lone wolves on the warpath in the West.
Rather than being politically correct POTUS needs to defeat the Wahhabi Salafi snake in his own back yard as well as globally. How to defeat ISIS and other Wahhabi Salafi extremists. ISIS is a problem obviously but just as deadly is the Leaderless Salafi Jihad; it’s the security threat of our time.
Salafi Jihad starts with their religious fanaticism.
‘The Saudi-Wahhabi pact goes back to the eighteenth century when SheikhMuhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab (1703-1792), the founder of the Wahhabi-Salafi school of Islam traveled to Diriya, the stronghold of the Saudi tribe, and struck a deal with its chief. The pact served the interest of both parties by expanding their respective political and religious influence throughout the regions of Najd and Hijaz.
Basing his ideas on the writings of classical Salafi scholar Ibn Taymiyyah, al-Wahhab rejected shirk (idolatry, polytheism) and bid‘ah (heretical religious innovation), which he believed permeated the holy land of Islam. He believed in the return to the authentic ways of the salaf al-salih (pious ancestors) and advocated tawhid (oneness/unity of God) and transcendence of God. He called for unity and the purification of Islam. His puritanical movement became known as the Muwahhidun. Significantly, he justified levelling the charge of takfir (unbelief) on those he considered engaged in shirk. For example, the failure of Muslims to observe all the pillars of Islam or direct their exclusive worship toward God alone was tantamount to committing kufr (unbelief). ‘
Why America Needs to Beware of Saudi Wahhabism
Just like Al Qaeda was a hideous Frankenstein conceived in the bed of convenience when US was fighting the Russians in Afghanistan, so too Wahhabi Jihadism spawned in KSA because during the Cold War Egypt under Nasser leaned toward the Communist Russians. ‘uring that time Saudi Arabia welcomed many members of the Muslim Brotherhood when President of Egypt Gamal Abdel-Nasser clamped down on them for trying to assassinate him. The Saudis assumed that nobody was better suited to taunt and criticize nationalist Nasser than the pious members of the Muslim Brotherhood. As it turned out, their assumption proved deeply flawed and harmful to the security of the royal family. Once in the kingdom, the Brothers joined the burgeoning field of education, in particular the newly established universities. It was there in the universities of the kingdom that a theological cross-fertilization took place blending the political outlook of the Muslim Brotherhood with the dogmatic stance of Wahhabism…which manifested itself in the seizure of the Grand Mosque in 1979 by Juhayman al-Utaibi and his followers in the religious establishment. This episode in the history of the Kingdom has had tremendous impact on Saudi domestic and foreign policy. (basically the Wahhabi extremists were given free hand to propagate their puritanical brand of Islam overseas on the basis they did not stir up further trouble in KSA). It led to the favour of Sheikh Nasir al-Din al-Albani’s (1914-1999) scientific Salafi school, which is also known as the quietest Salafi school. (This schools eschewed reason and logic for literalist fundamentalism)…al-Albani premised the methodology (manhaj) of change inherent in his da‘wa on the concept of “al-tasfiyah wa al-tarbiyah(purification and education).” He believed that, in order to effect the exemplary Muslim, and by extension the Islamic State, Islam should be purified of everything that is alien and fraudulent. …al-Albani believed that only by instilling into the youthful generation the authentic Islamic creed, as outlined in the Qur’an and the Sunnah, could a pure Islamic society be formed as the basis of an Islamic state….Put in simple terms, according to al-Albani, it follows from this that unless religion is purified and rightly practiced, political action will lead to corruption and injustice in Muslim society. This explains al-Albani’s opposition to Islamism (political Islam) as adopted by the Muslim Brotherhood and otherHarakis (Muslim activists). Similarly, al-Albani perceived politics in its Western contemporary concept as a reprehensible innovation based ontakfiri(unbeliever) principles, reflected in deception, dishonesty and cunning. Al-Albani opposed Muslim participation in both elections and parliaments.
This is the fundamentalist, anti-Western, and anti-modern school of Islam representing the official religious orientation in the kingdom’s institutions.’
Creating an Islamic state governed in accordance with the Qur’an and the Sunnah preoccupied activist Salafists, whose theology can be traced to the hybrid ideology that was born out of the fusion of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political and cultural outlook and the creed of Wahhabism. Whereas the application of sharia has been a central tenet for the Muslim Brotherhood, purification of the creed has been a central tenet of Wahhabis…
Salafi jihadists embrace the obligation to apply Sharia universally oppose all who do not adopt Sharia including Muslim rulers and strive to:
1) propagate Islam,
2) prepare and wage jihad in the path of Allah,
3) work to recover the homeland and the authority that has been violated, and
4) appoint a caliph who will rule according to what God has sent down.
Osama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda and Abu Bakr al-Qurayshi al-Baghdadi’s Islamic State embrace this Salafi-jihadi ideology. Significantly, what Bin Laden failed to accomplish, al-Baghdadi achieved with the creation of the Islamic State. He confirmed to Islamists and Salafists of all stripes that only through jihad can the Islamic State be realized, and that quietist Salafis are wasting their time. It should come, therefore, as no surprise that many Islamists and Salafis have joined the Islamic State.
Salafism has now emerged as a prominent ideological and political driver to a Sunni community.
Herein lies the problem and the challenge for United States in its relationship with Saudi Arabia. True, Saudi Arabia opposes and battles Salafi-Jihadism; nevertheless its support of the quietest school of Salafism within and beyond the border of the Kingdom breathes life into the lungs of Muslim extremists Harakis and Salafi jihadists to pursue their core mission. ‘ http://nationalinterest.org/feature/why-america-needs-beware-saudi-wahhabism-12906?page=3
How can we defeat Terror?
First you have to name it, know what it is or else you’ll do more harm than good by attacking everything Islamic.
Prime Minister David Cameron has done (20th July 2015) in his speech what President Obama refuses to do; state that the root of today’s terrorist problem is extremist Islamist ideology.
In what will go down as the seminal speech to unmask the ideological drivers of modern terrorism and social unrest in the West, David Cameron spoke boldly and incisively at the Nonestiles School in Birmingham about the scourge of extremism sweeping the UK’s Muslim communities.
It’s no accident that he chose this school in this are to deliver his speech. It is here where there has been a vipers nest of Wahhabi Salafi extremists that have been the engine room of hate preachers and extremism in the UK including those involved in the: Birminham 6 Terror plot and the Trojan Horse affair.
The UK government is now going to actively encourage the reforming and moderate Muslim voices in its strategy to wipe out extremism in the UK homeland. The PM understands that in the past, governments have been too caught up with political correctness and cries of Islamophobia to challenge the extremist religious ideology and were too quick to dismiss the religious aspect of Islamist extremism. It is undeniable the PM said that there is a religious justification for terrorism of recent times not just in the UK but globally because these extremists are
“self-identifying as Muslims. The fact is from Woolwich to Tunisia, from Ottawa to Bali, these murderers all spout the same twisted narrative, one that claims to be based on a particular faith.”
Because the Wahhabi Salafi ideology leads to violence, social unrest and discrimination and hatred is enough to clamp down on those who spread it in our homelands. This is a mega-leap in honesty and the right direction to stop the barbarism of Syria and Iraq continuing to appear on the streets of our Homelands.
Mustafa Kail aka Abu Hamzah al-Masri when he was head of a Wahhabi Salafi front called the Partisans of the Sharia Organization, wrote a book calledTerrorism is the Solution and preached in his Salafi mosques in London and the US that terrorism against the West was a religious imperative for all Muslims because of the false narrative that the West was oppressing Muslims and seeking to humiliate then destroy Islam. (He is now serving life in a US prison for terrorism).
We can detonate their false narratives by and through the majority of moderate Muslims and their intelligentsia/scholars and rational leadership in our homelands and globally who are under attack by the extremists as much as we are. We can give them a voice, protect them from reprisals by Salafi thugs and protect their mosques from the poison pill of Saudi charitable funds by donating money to Islamic Universities and Muslim schools of learning based on moderate Islam.
The war actually is within Islam itself and we are the collateral damage (if you look at total numbers of terrorist incidents, you will see that most are Wahhabi Salafi against other Muslims). Read ‘Khaled Abou El Fadl and Moderate Islam’. https://lnkd.in/bMkn6Hi
One strategy to consider is to ally and support the moderate Muslims against the puritanical Wahhabi Salafi. We have a common interest. Our only hurdle is prejudice, KSA and politicians aligned with oil.
Unless we help the Muslims resist this Wahhabi Salafi attempt to take over Islam globally, radicalization of 1.5 billion Muslim people spells doom for humanity.
Egypt’s President al Sisi recognizes the “queen bees” are the root cause of terrorism, and joins PM Lee in calling for a ‘religious revolution’ in Islam at Cairo’s Al Azhar University back in January 2015.
David Cameron UK PM thinks the attraction of the ‘caliphate’ can be tackled with counter-narratives that debunk al-Baghdadi’s Islamist interpretation of Islam. The gulf between the brutal reality on the ground and the propagandised fantasy Isil spin on social media can be exposed. The positive things the UK provides for all its citizens can be promoted, in order to show the alternatives to living in a fascistic theocracy.http://blogs.new.spectator.co.uk/…/david-cameron-must-ally…/
In a 2003 interview with Fareed Zakaria of Newsweek, Singapore’s formerPrime Minister Lee Kuan Yew warned that Americans are mistaken in seeking a largely military solution to combat Islamic terrorism.
“In killing terrorists, you will only kill the worker bees. The queen bees are the (hate) preachers, who teach a deviant form of Islam in schools and Islamic centers, who capture and twist the minds of the young.”
Retired Malaysian diplomat Dennis Ignatius made the following observations :
“Even if ISIS is degraded, Saudi export of Wahhabism will continue to spawn new ISIS type jihadists in Asia, Africa, South America and elsewhere… it is Saudi-exported Islamic extremism. …Young Southeast Asian Muslims from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and elsewhere are radicalizing and joining jihad in Syria and Iraq, with ISIS even forming a military unitfor Malay-speaking fighters—Katibah Nusantara Lid Daulah Islamiyyah (Malay Archipelago Unit for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria)….
He attributes the sole cause of extremism in South-East Asia to Saudi Arabia’s aggressive export of Wahhabi ideology, spending more than US$100,00 billion the past few decades to export a culture of “intolerance, hate and violence” to all corners of the globe….”
Ignatius echoes Singapore’s former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew who also pointed to puritan fanatics in ‘Saudi Arabia as the “queen bee” spawning terrorism in Asia’.
According to Lee, ‘Muslims in Southeast Asia were traditionally moderate and tolerant. But beginning in the 1970s, awash with petrodollars, Saudi Wahhabis began to export this “venomous religion” via thousands of mosques and madrasas that has radicalized Muslims in South and Southeast Asia. As a result of Saudi proliferation of WMDs—or Wahhabis of Mass Destruction—Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines have fallen victim to Wahhabi-driven extremists groups such as Jemaah Islamiah, Abu Sayyaf, MILF, ISIS, Taliban, and others.’
Ignatius views the Saudi-Wahhabi nexus has such a stranglehold on Sunni religious discourse, having polluted thousands of mosques, seminaries, universities, schools and community centers that “unquestionably, the Saudi-Wahhabi nexus has become the greatest single threat to peace and stability in the world today.”
In a September 2014 Indian Defence Review article, retired Indian general Afsir Karim shares Lee Kuan Yew’s concerns that Saudi Wahhabis are trying to exert domination over other strands of Islam (e.g., Sufi, Shia, etc.) and proclaim themselves as the gold standard for what it means to be a “good” Muslim…General Karim exposes how Saudis are using the Wahhabism weapon to dominate India, pumping millions of petrodollars into madrasas and mosques to propagate Wahhabi theology and that “anyone outside the Wahhabi sect is a heretic and will burn in hell.”
This doctrine of intolerance and violence is now polarizing Indian society and radicalizing its Muslims, projected by Pew Research to be the largest Muslim population in the world by 2050, even surpassing Indonesia.
Thus with the double onslaught of potential ISIS bases and Saudi-sponsored radicalization of Asian Muslims casting a long shadow…The growing conflict between the Shia and Sunni sects across the world is a direct result of the increasing influence of Wahhabism.

Many Muslims, the great majority (over 75%) in fact, disavow these terrorists are true Muslims because terrorism is against that religion’s precepts. So who would use Islamic words of the Sunni side of that great faith but not be true Muslims? Read Muslim scholars who go into the arabic language, culture and ancient Islamic texts. For example In The Great Theft, Khaled Abou El Fadl, one of the world’s preeminent Islamic scholars, argues that Islam is currently passing through a transformative period no less dramatic than the movements that swept through Europe during the Reformation. At this critical juncture there are two completely opposed worldviews within Islam competing to define this great world religion. The stakes have never been higher, and the future of the Muslim world hangs in the balance…Abou El Fadl builds a vital vision for a moderate Islam. At long last, the great majority of Muslims who oppose extremism have a desperately needed voice to help reclaim Islam’s great moral tradition…This explains why despite President George W. Bush’s assurances that Islam is a peaceful religion and that all good Muslims hunger for democracy, confusion persists and far too many Westerners remain convinced that Muslims and terrorists are synonymous…As the second-largest and fastest-growing religion in the world, Islam is deemed by more than a billion Muslims to be a source of serenity and spiritual peace, and a touchstone for moral and ethical guidance. While extremists have an impact upon the religion that is wildly disproportionate to their numbers, moderates constitute the majority of Muslims worldwide. It is this rift between the quiet voice of the moderates and the deafening statements of the extremists that threatens the future of the faith.” The Great Theft: Wrestling Islam from the ExtremistsPaperback – January 23, 2007 by Khaled M. Here is a selected list of orthodox Sunni scholars who have refuted Wahhabism and warned Muslims of its poisonous ideology. I can only hope that young Muslim men heed his advice and do not drink from the poison Wahhabi well.
Here is the link to the list.
President Obama says there’s no magic in the phrase ‘Radical Islamic terrorism’ but there is ‘magic’ in the phrase Wahhabi Salafi Takfiri Jihadi; it unlocks like a key all paths to policy to wipe out 99% of global and domestic terror. It also builds bridges to 85% of Muslims globally who eschew extremism. It’s not a redneck Islamophobic exercise to call the genesis of our security problem religious extremism from a small puritanical sect within Islam. President Obama needs to listen to ordinary Muslims if he doesn’t want to research the ideology inspiring terror. We must help Saudi’s steer away from the intolerant and puritanical Wahhabi by encouraging tolerance and in KSA and reason in Islamic jurisprudence. As a litmus test, the moment Christians can build churches in KSA is the moment the world will be free from this level of global terror.
