Those who are blaming Pakistan’s security agencies for Khurram Zaki’s murder are the apologists for Takfiri Deobandi terrorist outfits like Sipah-e-Sahaba. Why else are they trying to divert attention from these terror groups?

A certain lobby is working overtime trying to dump the blame of Khurram Zaki’s murder on the army. Just like they did when Sabeen Mahmud was murdered a year ago. In both instances, compelling evidence points to the contrary!

In Sabeen’s case, it has already emerged that Takfiri Deobandi radicals like Saad Aziz and Tahir Minhas, who were involved in similar crimes, had murdered Sabeen

Shaheed Khurram Zaki was a staunch nationalist and eschewed the tactics of those elites and lobbyists whose solutions for Pakistan involve the very destruction of the State as in the case of Iraq, Syria and Libya.

Khurram Zaki was critical of some aspects of the National Action Plan and the shortcomings of the federal and provincial governments as well as the Rangers. However, he was also in support of Operation Zarb-e-Azab against the radical Deobandi militia, the Taliban and openly advocated for the further expansion of the operation in Pakistan’s urban areas. He wanted this operation to include action against ASWJ-LeJ, the urban partners of the Taliban.

For his clear and bold advocacy (unlike the wishy washy obfuscations of his detractors), Khurram Zaki was being threatened by notorious Deobandi leaders like Aurangzeb Farooqi and Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa. LUBP and Zaki have also been facing a relentless hate campaign of incitement from pages linked to ASWJ. Zaki had acknowledged this in his lifetime and his will nominates Aurangzeb Farooqi and Abdul Aziz in the event of his murder. Then why is this dubious lobby trying to shift the blame of Zaki’s murder – and that too without ANY evidence? This is a clear case of malicious intent.
