Islamabad: Public prosecutors in Pakistan have refused to proceed with cases involving suspected militants on the pretext that the banned terror outfits are threatening them with dire consequences if they appeared in court.
Media reports Saturday said the anti-terrorism court in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest metropolis, could not try cases against arrested suspects belonging to militant outfits because no public prosecutor was present.
“Judge Anand Ram was scheduled to hear a case against arrested suspects of Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, while Judge Hasan Bokhari was to hear a case against an accused linked with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan,” Aaj TV reported.
“We are receiving constant threats from accomplices of these terrorists and can’t risk our lives anymore,” a public prosecutor were quoted as saying.
“We requested the police to provide us adequate security but it has failed to do so,” he said.
The anti-terrorism court has issued notices to the Sindh home secretary and the chief secretary to appear before it on the next date of hearing and explain why the public prosecutors – Muhammad Khan Bararo and Mubashir Mirza – who were to appear on behalf of the government, did not come to the court.
At least 19 people were killed and over 140 injured in a suicide bombing targeting a police station in Karachi Thursday night, just a day after six Lashkar-i-Jhangvi militants were arrested carrying lethal weapons and other sensitive materials.
Last month, a shrine was attacked, while two Shia processions were targets of suicide bombings earlier this year.
“We have arrested 56 high-profile terrorists during the last couple of months and are being targeted for revenge,” Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza said after Thursday’s deadly attack on the police station where the arrested militants were being kept.
Taliban has claimed responsibility for all these attacks and is known to work in tandem with Lashkar-i-Jhangvi for terror strikes in urban areas.

A useful discussion on the role of extremist Deobandis:
http://criticalppp.com/forum/topic.php?id=504
Why the heck you have posted the non-voilent political party leader’s picture. Are you going to potray Maulama Ahmed Ludhianvi as extremists or what? If yes then you are unaware of what’s going on outside. He (picture above) is continuously rejecting all accusation of having any links to any killing……..terrorism is a far subject. I don’t know why you make serious mistakes or why do you do it knowingly???
I am in absolute agreement with this author, the best post on this web news page. Keep up the good work! I can’t believe ISI supports these radical Deobandis who are bent upon exterminating Islamic values in Pakistan. Still hard to believe for me because I have very much respect and love for the agency but sometimes even I doubt as the freehand that has been generously provided to Sipah-e-Sahaba(now in the garb of Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamat) by our top agency.

Any surrender to extremists Deobandis will endanger the very existence of Pakistan and brave people of Pakistan will never let it happen. Deobandi extremists were against creation of Pakistan and supporters of Indian Congress and they are still (the one currently living India). Now in Pakistan they want their narrow agenda implemented. I want to question the so called Deobandi Jihadis that your leaders in India openly talk against Jihad in Kashmir (Occupied territory) then how you can do the same thing in Pakistan, an independent Muslim state.

yeah right, you think Pakistan army is a solution? chck the above link. this is YET another proof of their ‘heroism’
Thats mean govt has no control on Amry and ISI, If this idiot government has no control on this sort of important organization. why are they still in power?? PPP govt should resign as they could not control in last 3 years
In an article “Now the whole world demands: repeal Pakistan’s blasphemy law” a reader writes
Pakistan should tell the world that these blasphemy laws were passed by a military dictator, with the stroke of his pen.
I am asking about banned outfits , who banned them?
A dictator or Parliament?
Govt has not so far proved any single case?
noting but govt failure!
@ Kashif Naseer
More than ten thousand innocent people have been killed by Deobandi extremists, is there still a need for anymore evidence and conviction? It’s time destroy Deobandi seminaries, constructed during Zia era, if we want to save Pakistan.
@Kashif, it seems you are spending days and nights in”Danialistan” or in Ideal world. Don’t you know and understand the dynamics of Pakistani politics. Pakistan has tried four Army dictatorships, one of them deeply extremist- and we are in transit phase, moving from authoritarian state to democratic state. And you are asking such a naive question, who actually controls our security, intelligence apparatus…?
By the way criticism for the sake of criticism is not good, it
after reading this articles and all comments, i reached to a conclusion that you people are real extremists. O bhai kisi evidence ke bagher kisi pe buhtan lagana islam ke asoolon ke srasar khilaf hai.. Allah ko jaan deni hai ya America ko, khuda ko khouf karo, Zulm ko support na karo…. Jab zulm barhta hai tou mit jata hai … rememb USSR
Jo america abbu kehte hen … tum log uss ko sach maan kar apne mujahedin bhaio ko badnaam karte hou… sharam karo hya karo doobb maro
I think you no more remember the dollars spent like water for well being of Deobandis when they were fighting America’s war in Afghanistan. That time you didn’t hate America. You are a typical extremist Deobandi and I know your psycho very well. Even a terrorist caught on CCTV footage blowing himself and killing innocents wouldn’t be any sort of evidence and you would call him an operative of ISI, CIA or Black Water but not a Jihadi.
The recent report of FIA on BB’s murder points Madrassah Haqqania’s connection. Is this an evidence.? This Madrassha is run by Maulvi Sami Ul Haq a great Deobandi leader. This reveals that even Deobandi leaders of Tier1 are directly involved in terrorist activities.

THE HUMBLE REQUEST TO ALL, PLEASE DO YOUR EFFERTS.
Worried… Pakistan’s condition economically is not really stable and every day the Government imposes new
Things, such activities may cause more damage…
Where is “Independent Judiciary”?
What Opposition’s roll in Government?
What our Media are doing?
What is Pak Army thinking?
You people known well that our Government took Foreign loans in 3-years are more than the previous Governments took in 60-years and nowadays State Bank of Pakistan are printing currency notes Rupee 2,000,000,000 daily to support the Government?
We are not bankrupt country but our Leaders made us. Ask them to bring their foreign assets and Bank accounts in to Pakistan and will see the change also en-force the following for everyone from top to bottom.
There are many steps but in my opinions, the first five simple steps to be followed without any delay.
1. A-Z Government’s officials are prohibited to keep account/assets in foreign countries. Those already having such, must transfer into Pakistan, otherwise resign.
2. A-Z Government’s officials are prohibited to establish/run any Industry and/or Trade otherwise resign.
3. No one can take part in Election, who having dual nationality, foreign residency, foreign assets, foreign Bank Account/s and/or any Industry/trade etc.
4. A undertaking from each participant of Election, Non having as stated in no.3, even Never thinks about, otherwise all National plus Foreign assets will be taken by Pakistan Government and no case will be lodged.
5. Pakistan Visa must be same requirements/condition and even Fee as the applicant’s Country.
6. Prohibited land/property to be sold other than Pakistan Nationals.
7. 1-Province to makes unity for all languages (Pakistanis) also to minimize the Government expense instead Of 4-provinces.
God Bless Pakistan…
