Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman, owner of Geo TV, had a secret meeting with the leaders of Sipah-e-Sahaba last week.

Secret meeting
Only last week, a secret meeting took place between the owner and CEO of the Jang Group (Geo TV / The News / Jang / Awam) Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman and some important religious scholars who were escorted by none other than a serving Colonel of the ISI.
This was a high level delegation of Sipah-e-Sahaba (under the leadership of Mufti Muhammad Naeem, Mufti Muhammad Hanif Jallandhari and Mufti Rafi Usmani) who appreciated Geo TV and Jang Group for it services to Islam and ‘Islamic forces’ in Pakistan.
The terrorist mullahs assured Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman of their full support to Geo TV and Jang Group of Newspapers. In return, Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman assured them that their strategic and operational interests will be safeguarded by Geo TV / Jang / The News.
Payback time
Less than a week after that meeting, here is the latest revelation (scoop/ breaking news) by Geo TV / The News / Jang.
In March 2010, a notorious terrorist, Hafiz Abdullah of Choti Zerin, D.G.Khan, who was activist of a local chapter of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi / Sipah-e-Sahaba, killed a Shia man and critically injured two more men (a Shia and a Barelvi). The furious crowd, mostly comprising Shias and Sunnis of the local town, then in riot fury took the murderer to the task (of course illegally) and provided urgent justice to him by killing him. (This mob action can be understood in view of the fact that Justice Sharif and Justice Iftikhar courts are hell bent on protecting and releasing the arrested terrorists of the Taliban and Sipah-e-Sahaba).
Geo TV hero or a sectarian terrorist?
It may be noted that in March 2010, the same newspaper, The News had reported that “Hafiz Abdullah, the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) district secretary general, killed local leader Naseem Abbas, injured his father Haji Ghulam Rasool and Matloob Hussain, a Post Office official, with a dagger and firing.”
Previously the same terrorist, Mullah Abdullah terrorist, was the mastermind of a terrorist attack on a Shia majlis in Pakistan in February 2009 killing more than 40 persons.

Almost 6 months after the killing of the terrorist mullah, Geo TV / Jang Group has started projecting that criminal (Abdullah Munafiq) as a hero, as an aggrieved party. Quite the opposite. Abdullah Munafiq was a terrorist of Sipah-e-Sahaba / Taliban / Lahskar-e-Jhangvi who was a notorious murderer. Instead of supporting and projecting terrorist, Geo TV must think about ways to protect and support those Shias, Barelvis, Ahmadis, Christians etc who have been mercilessly killed by terrorists of Taliban and Sipah-e-Sahaba.
Or should we expect that, soon, Geo TV and Jang will be running another video, this time in support of notorious murderer Riaz Basra, killer of hundreds of Shias and Barelvis.
By aligning itself with Sipah-e-Sahaba and Taliban, Geo TV and Jang Group is taking a very dangerous path. It it the part of sectarian and jihadi terrorists. Mir Shakil and his team at Geo TV, Jang, The News must reconsider their strategy and priorities.
Police supervises another brutal murder in D G Khan

DG KHAN: Geo News has received another video of a brutal torture in front of area police on an accused by a group, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Police shot the alleged killer in police station and handed over him to the family of the deceased who later stoned him to death and dragged the body to a place where they burn it.
Hafiz Abdullah, father of 13, killed a person during a spat.
A large number of people gathered to watch these atrocious scenes and markets of the area were shut. Area police remained a spectator. DSP Chandio, who supervised this horrific activity, was still working.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: An angry mob burnt alive a banned outfit leader, who murdered a leader and his father while injuring another, after storming the Choti Zirin police station on Thursday.
Hafiz Abdullah, the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) district secretary general, killed local leader Naseem Abbas, injured his father Haji Ghulam Rasool and Matloob Hussain, a Post Office official, with a dagger and firing.
Haji Ghulam Rasool was shifted to the DHQ Hospital. He was referred to the Nishtar Hospital Multan due to his critical condition where he died. After the incident, Hafiz Abdullah courted arrest at the police station.
Later, dozens of protestors gathered at the Traffic Chowk, stormed the police station and dragged him out by tying a rope to his neck and foot. They burnt him alive and refused to hand over his body to the police. The protestors also damaged the police station and two vehicles while the record was also burnt.
Tension gripped the town while a heavy contingent of police was called from other districts to control the situation. Meanwhile, traders observed a complete shutdown in protest against the incident.
Locals told The News that the police seemed helpless in controlling the violence. Commissioner Hassan Iqbal, PRO Ahmad Mubarik and other police officers reached the spot. A heavy contingent of police was called from other districts which sealed the city and no one was allowed to enter or leave the city. The autopsy could not be carried out on the two bodies till the filing of this report. The police said that the case would be registered after the autopsy.

DERA GHAZI KHAN – While protesting the murder of Shia leader, Naseem Abbas, an unruly crowd allegedly burnt alive the accused at Chotti Zirin on Thursday.
The sources concerned said that tension gripped the city after Hafiz Abdullah, a member of a banned organisation, had allegedly killed Naseem Abbas, at his cloth shop besides injuring two persons including the father of the deceased, Ghulam Rasool, and postmaster Matloob Hussain.
Later when Hafiz surrendered himself to police, the relatives of deceased attacked the police station and took him away from custody. In retribution, they set him on fire at the main chowk, killing him on the spot. They also damaged the police vehicles and other official record.
However, the law enforcement agencies reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

I often find myself defending Pakistan against the unbidden prejudices of the outside world. No, Islam is not the cause of terrorism. Yes, the Taliban is a complex phenomenon. No, Imran Khan is not a major political figure.
This past week, though, I am silent. The massacre of 94 members of the minority Ahmadiyya community on May 28 has exposed something ugly at the heart of Pakistan – its laws, its rulers, its society.
It’s not the violence that disturbs most, gut-churning as it was. During Friday prayers two teams of attackers stormed Ahmadiyya mosques in the eastern city of Lahore. They fired Kalashnikovs from minarets, chucked grenades into the crowds, exploded their suicide vests.
As the massacre unfolded, a friend called – his father-in-law, a devout Ahmadi, was inside one of the besieged mosques. The family, glued to live television coverage, were sick with worry.
Two hours later, my friend’s relative emerged alive. But many of his friends – old men, including a retired general and former judge – were dead.
The killers were quickly identified as “Punjabi Taliban” – a loose collective of local extremists with ties to the tribal belt. This was unsurprising. More dispiriting, however, was the wider reaction.
Human rights groups reacted with pre-programmed outrage; otherwise there was a virtual conspiracy of silence. A dribble of protesters attended street protests against the attack in Lahore and Karachi; eleven people showed up in Islamabad.
The normally vociferous media were unusually reticent. Commentators expressed dismay at the violence, but few dared voice support for the Ahmadiyya community itself. Politicians turned yellow.
Few visited the bereaved; still today, the chief minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, has not visited the bullet-pocked mosques or offered compensation to the injured.
In the national parliament, three brave female MPs crossed party lines to propose a resolution condemning the attacks, in the face of massive indifference. The motion passed, just.
The reticence is rooted in law and history. Ahmadis believe that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, a 19th century Punjabi cleric, was the messiah sent by God – a notion that deeply offends orthodox Muslims for whom Muhammad, who lived in 7th-century Arabia, is the final prophet.
The problem is that the state has taken sides in this religious argument. Since the 1970s, civilian and military governments have passed laws enshrining the discrimination against Ahmadis, today thought to number about 4 million in Pakistan.
And so they live in the shadows of society. Under the law, Ahmadis may not call themselves Muslims and may not refer to their places of worship as “mosques”. Orthodox Muslims applying for a passport must sign a statement deriding Ahmad as an “imposter”.
Any Ahmadi who defies these edicts can be sentenced to death; in 2009, 37 were charged under the blasphemy laws and 57 under Ahmadi-specific laws.
This state-directed discrimination has caused prejudice to soak into the bones of even well-educated Pakistanis. It is acceptable to denigrate Ahmadis as “agents of foreign powers” such as the CIA and Raw, India’s intelligence service.
In 2008 a prominent preacher on Geo, the country’s largest channel, suggested that right-minded Muslims should kill Ahmadis. Within 48 hours two Ahmadis had been lynched. Last year a banner appeared outside the high court in Lahore, declaring “Jews, Christians and Ahmadis are enemies of Islam”. Few complained.
The silence that followed the Ahmadi killings was broken last week by a tsunami of outrage at the Israeli commando raids on boats headed for Gaza. Commentators and politicians fulminated at the treatment of the Palestinians – a minority that suffers state-sanctioned, religiously driven discrimination. Nobody got the irony.
It makes one realise how small the constituency of true liberals is in Pakistan – not Pervez Musharraf-style liberals, who drink whisky and attend fashion shows, but people who believe the state should cherish all citizens equally. That, after all, was the publicly expressed desire of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, 63 years ago. Today it lies in tatters.

یہ واقعہ چند ماہ پہلے ہوا تاہم اس واقعے کی ویڈیو حال ہی میں ٹی وی چینلوں پر نشر کیے جانے کے بعد لاہور ہائی کورٹ کے چیف جسٹس نے اس واقعے کا از خود نوٹس لیا ہے۔
اس واقعے میں ڈیرہ غازی خان کے علاقے چوٹی زیریں میں ایک زیر حراست قتل کے ملزم حافظ عبیداللہ کو تھانے میں گولی مار کر زخمی حالت میں مقتول کے ورثا کے سپرد کیا گیا تھا۔ بعد ان افراد نے تشدد کر کے ملزم کو ہلاک کر دیا اور اس کی لاش کو آگ لگا دی۔ لاش کو موٹر سائیکل سے باندھ کر گھسیٹا بھی گیا تھا۔
اس سے پہلے سیالکوٹ میں د وبھائیوں بھی بھی تشدد کرکے قتل کردیا گیا تھا
ویڈیو فوٹیج میں دیکھایا گیا ہے کہ جس وقت یہ واقعہ ہوا تو علاقے کے لوگوں نے دکانیں بند کر دیں اور چھتوں پر کھڑے ہو کر اس ہولناک منظر کو دیکھا۔ واقعے کے وقت پولیس افسران وہاں موجود تھے اور لوگ پولیس والوں کو کاندھوں پر اٹھاتے رہے اور شاباش دیتے رہے۔
پاکستان میں پولیس کی موجودگی میں کسی شخص کو تشدد سے ہلاک کرنے اور اس کی لاش کی بے حرمتی کرنے کا یہ واحد واقعہ نہیں ہے کچھ عرصہ پہلے سیالکوٹ میں بھی مشتعل ہجوم نے دو سگے بھائیوں کو ہلاک کر دیا تھا۔

LAHORE: The Chief Justice (CJ) of Lahore High Court (LHC) has taken suo moto notice of burning a murderer accused overtly in the presence of police in Dera Ghazi Khan.
LHC’s CJ Khwaja Sharif has summoned DPO Dera Ghazi Khan and SHO of Choti Zairin Police Station to appear before court on Friday.
A few days ago, a banned outfit’s activist, Hafiz Abdullah, had been arrested by police for an alleged murder.
Later on, angry people of the area killed him in police custody before burning his corpse publicly.
A few days later, a video of the brutal burning surfaced in the public; LHC took suo moto notice after the media gave it coverage. SAMAA

ملتان میں مبینہ طور پر حساس ادارےکلِک آئی ایس آئی کے ہیڈ کواٹر پر حملے اور دہشت گردی کی دیگر وارداتوں میں ملوث سات شدت پسندوں کو بہاولپور پولیس نے بدھ اور جمعرات کی درمیانی شب گرفتار کیا ہے۔
پولیس کے مطابق گرفتار ہونے والے ان افراد کا تعلق لشکر جھنگوی گروپ تحریک طالبان سے ہے اور یہ ملتان میں وزیر اعظم یوسف رضا گیلانی کی رہائش گاہ پر حملے کی منصوبے بندی بھی کر رہے تھے۔
دوران تفتیش ان افراد نے انکشاف کیا کہ ان کا اگلا ہدف ملتان میں وزیر اعظم یوسف رضا گیلانی کی رہائش گاہ ہونی تھی۔اس کے علاوہ وزیر خارجہ شاہ محمود قریشی اور وفاقی وزیر مذہبی امور احمد سعید کاظمی بھی ان کا نشانہ تھے
بی بی سی کی مناء رانا سے بات کرتے ہوئے ڈسٹرکٹ پولیس آفیسر (ڈی پی او) بہاولپور بابر بخت قریشی نے بتایا کہ گرفتار مبینہ شدت پسندوں کی عمریں پندرہ سے سینتیس برس کے درمیان ہیں اور انہیں پولیس مقابلے کے بعد بہاولپور کے نواحی علاقے احمد پور شرقیہ سے گرفتار کیا گیا۔
گرفتار ہونے والے ان سات افراد کے سربراہ کا نام عبدالرحیم طلحہ جبکہ دیگر افراد میں حافظ سلیمان، محمد افضل، مفتی حسین،سجاد احمد، محمد سلیم اور بلال شامل ہیں۔ان میں سے ایک مفتی حسین کے بارے میں ان کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ پی ایچ ڈی کی ڈگری رکھتے ہیں۔
ڈی پی او بہاولپور بابر بخت قریشی نے بتایا کہ ان افراد سے بھاری اسلحہ بھی برآمد ہوا جس میں کلاشنکوف، پسٹلز اور ہینڈ گرینیڈ شامل ہیں۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ گرفتار ہونے والے ان افراد سے جب تفتیش کی گئی تو انہوں نے انتہائی اہم انکشافات کیے جس میں پچھلے سال دسمبر میں ملتان میں آئی ایس آئی کی عمارت پر ہونے والے خود کش حملہ شامل ہے جس میں متعدد افراد ہلاک اور زخمی ہوئے تھے۔
ان مبینہ دہشت گردوں نے دوران تفتیش پولیس کو بتایا کہ ایک ڈکیتی کے دوران انہوں نے ایک ہی خاندان کے پانچ افراد کو ہلاک کیا اور ملتان کے نواحی علاقے جلال پور پیر والا میں میورات کی ایک دکان کو لوٹا اور اس کے گارڈ کو ہلاک کیا تھا۔

بابر بخت قریشی کے مطابق دوران تفتیش ان مبینہ شدت پسندوں سے معلوم ہوا کہ ان کا سرغنہ قاری عبید اللہ عرف قاری عمران ہے جو اس وقت پاکستان کے شمالی علاقے میران شاہ میں موجود ہے۔ان کی شدت پسندانہ کارروائیوں کو میران شاہ سے مدد دی جا رہی ہے جبکہ یہ تمام افراد علاقہ غیر سے تربیت حاصل کر کے آئے ہیں اور ان سات افراد میں سے دو کم عمر لڑکوں کو خود کش حملوں کے لیے تیار کیا گیا ہے۔
ڈی پی او کے مطابق پولیس نے کئی ہفتوں کی کوششوں کے بعد انہیں گرفتار کیا اور جب پولیس نے ان پر حملہ کیا تو یہ تیار نہیں تھے اس لیے وہ زیادہ مزاحمت نہ کر سکے۔ اس کارروائی میں نہ تو کوئی پولیس اہلکار اور نہ ہی کوئی شدت پسند زخمی ہوا۔

MULTAN: Police said Thursday they have foiled a plot to kill the country’s prime minister, foreign minister and other senior police, army and government officials by arresting a group of seven militants in central Pakistan’s Bahawalpur district.
Senior police official Abid Qadri said authorities learned about the plot during an initial interrogation of militants, who were arrested late Wednesday after a shootout near a village in the district.
The militants opened fire when police tried to pull the suspects’ car over for a routine check, Qadri said. Nobody was wounded or killed in the shooting, but two men managed to escape, he said.
”We have averted several high-profile attacks by arresting these terrorists,” he told The Associated Press.
The men are all part of Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, which is a banned militant group linked to both the Taliban and al-Qaeda, Qadri said. The group has been blamed for attacking minority Shia worship places and killing Shias across Pakistan.
Some of the suspects arrested Wednesday are believed to have taken part in last year’s attack on the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in Multan that killed 12 people, Qadri said.
He did not say how far along the men were in their alleged plot to kill Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the others.
Qadri said the suspects also had plans to attack a key dam, a bridge and military installations. — AP

M Zulqernain Lahore, Oct 14 (PTI) Pakistani police today claimed to have arrested seven members of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan who had plans to attack Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and senior security officials.The arrested men were involved in an attack on the Inter-Services Intelligence agency”s office in Multan and the murder of members of the minority Shia sect, police officials said.Regional police chief Abid Qadri of Bahawalpur district in Punjab province told reporters that a police team had arrested Mufti Munawar Hussain, Abdur Rahim alias Talha, Muhammad Afzal, Hafiz Suleman, Muhammad Bilal, Sajjad Ahmed and Muhammad Salim from a village in Ahmadpur Sharikia for their links with the Taliban.”The accused had plans to target Prime Minister Gilani at his camp office in Multan. They were also planning to destroy the Taunsa Barrage,” he said.Multan is the hometown of Gilani and Foreign Minister Qureshi.Qadri said the terror suspects were active members of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and had subsequently joined hands with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.He said they were behind an attack on the ISI office in Multan last year that killed 12 people and the recent murder of five Shias.Officials said the accused were being interrogated by security agencies at an undisclosed location.

LAWLESSNESS: It has become a matter of routine, that the people do take the law into their own hands. Even prior to it, many incident had already taken place but due to lack of coverage in media, the same could not be taken notice of the same. The act of barbarism and brutality of killing of two youth brothers in Sialkot in presence of police by the mob is an example. Now extra judicial killing of Hafiz Abdullah in presence of police is an other act of barbarism which speaks volume against the present government and lawlessness. Although the courts are taking judicial notice of such incidents, yet in how much cases the courts will take judicial notice. It is the government which is duty bound to protect the lives and liberties of its citizens. Even for the sake of argument, it is assumed that Hafiz Abdullah was murderer, even then his extra judicial killing and then burning of his dead body cannot be endorsed, rather deserves to be severely condemned.

INCIDENT OF VIOLENCE AND ARREST OF ACCUSED MAJOR ® PERVAIZ IQBAL IN SESSIONS COURT PREMISES, SIALKOT.
Sir,
With all due reverence, I submit as under:-
1. That on 4.1.2012 one person namely Major (R) Pervaiz Iqbal accused of case FIR No.435/11 of P.S. Civil Line Sialkot appeared before the court of Mr.Asmat Ullah Niazi, Additional Sessions Judge, Sialkot in connection with his pre-arrest bail petition and his interim bail was extended till 16th January, 2012. When I alongwith the said accused/petitioner was coming out of the court, he was way laid by the police officials and when asked as to why the police officials were doing so, not only Pervaiz Iqbal but I was also pushed away and in this process other lawyers were also manhandled. It is shocking to note that the police officials who were being supervised by Malik Mobashar SHO and a number of persons without uniform out of whom some were having shoes, gave merciless beating to Pervaiz Iqbal in court premises and caused terror and panic amongst public in general. Pervaiz Iqbal was dragged and put in police vehicle and was taken to police station Civil Lines, Sialkot.
2. That fortunately by that time, the Worthy District and Sessions Judge, Sialkot was present in the court and he witnessed through court windows the aforesaid unruly mob and noise of violence by a large number of persons. There and then large number of lawyers also approached the learned District and Sessions Judge, Sialkot and complained against the aforesaid act.
3. That the Worth District and Sessions Judge, Sialkot wrote a letter to the District Police Officer, Sialkot on the subject bearing No.14 dated:4.1.2012 with the following observations:
“The matter is reported to you for obvious reason that the police party was supposed to restrain from arresting any accused within the premises of Sessions Court in keeping with the sanctity of courts. In case police is given free hand to arrest accused persons jwithin the premises of court in a coercive/aggressive manner, it is likely to encourage private parties to take the law into their own hands. If such practice is continued the public at large would be scared to approach the courts for vindication of their rights. It is, therefore, requested that an appropriate action must be taken at your end to redress the grievance of not only the parties but the respected members of Sialkot District Bar.”
4. That subsequently the learned District and Sessions Judge, Sialkot was also pleased to constitute a committee consisting of one Additonal District and Sessions Judge and one Senior Civil Judge, Sialkot including senior members of Bar and the said committee also condemned the aforesaid act and also made certain recommendations for security in future within court premises.
5. That it is pertinent to mention here that prior to the aforesaid incident, vide an order dated;19.12.2011 passed by W.P.No.28513/2011 titled Maj ® Pervaiz Iqbal Vs. The State etc. wherein DPO,Sialkot/SHO, Civil Line, Sialkot etc. were also respondents, the Hon’ble Lahore High Court has passed a direction that no illegal harassment shall be caused to the petitioner.
6. That prior to the orders of the Hon’ble High Court, the aforesaid alleged accused also filed a petition under section 22-A/22-B Cr.P.C against the conduct of the police and showing apprehensions qua the illegal acts of the police, and the court of Mr.Asmat Ullah Khan Niazi, learned Addl;Sessions Judge, Sialkot passed an order datd:16.112.2011 specifically observed that the contention of the petitioner is also sound plausible that he should not be harassed or teased otherwise without due course of law by the respondents i.e DPO, SHO etc. Sialkot.
7. That despite clear cut directions of the superior courts, the police while in league with private persons had taken the law into their own hands and floated the orders of the court.
8. That I am not concerned with the merits of the case, I am only concerned with the sanctity of the courts and the manner, mode and registration of cases in which the police has acted and despite the fact the matter was brought into the notice of the DPO, Sialkot, no positive action seems to have been taken by the DPO, Sialkot and the matter has been taken in a very casual and perfunctory manner.
9. That I am conscious of the fact that I am no body to write down this letter but intends to place my feelings before all the concerned with the ray hope that some positive action may be taken against the delinquent police officers/officials.
It is also pointed out here that primafacie it appears that the Districtk Police Officer, Sialkot is playing in the hands of some influential persons of Sialkot and thus he is also after the aforesaid Retired major.
FUNNY AND FANTASTIC: After the August court of Pakistan has already made a decision against NRO and ordered for implementations of court orders and disobedience of order and contempt proceedings are pending against Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gallani, today P.M has said on a TV channel that he will resign if he is convicted by the court. This statement appears to be very funny and fantastic, if Prime Minister will be convicted, then how he could retain the office of P.M. It is the time that he should resign even prior to his conviction or otherwise as a charge is likely to be framed against him. If P.M is wise and has the courage, there is clear cut allegation against him that primafacie he is guilty of contempt of court and thus he should have resigned from the office of Prime Minister. It is also pointed out here that Prime Minister has declared in his speech today that there is exemplary development in the country. I want to weep over this statement. What kind of development this government has made???????????????Shame Shame.
AERIAL FIRING IN PRESENCE OF ALI MUSA, THE SON OF YOUSAF RAZA GALLANI PRIME MINISTER. Today I have seen on TV that today on election day, in presence of Ali Musa, the son of prime minster, one person was making aerial firing and no body was restraining him, rather all were enjoying. Moreso, many other people were also seen while making aerial firing at different places and even in presence of their leaders. It is also noted that many people had met death previously due to aerial firing. When all the highups and the police has witnessed these illegal acts, it is incumbant upon them to register cases against all those who are involved in this act. The provisons of section 337-H(ii) PPC are there, besides section 148/149 PPC.
