RIP Khudi Ali: Pakistan’s young rights activist against Shia Genocide killed by Deobandi militants
It’s with utmost pain and sorrow that we announce that LUBP’s team member and friend Irfan Khudi Ali from Quetta was among at least 80 Shia (including some Sunni) Muslims killed by Deobandi militants of the Sipah Sahaba (ASWJ) on 10 January 2013 in mutliple attacks on Quetta’s Alamdar Road.
Irfan was one of the prominent voices in Pakistan’s social media who was always active to highlight the plight of Pakistani Shias including Quetta’s Shia Hazara and non-Shia Hazara Muslims. He was equally active on other causes of human rights and was liked by all faith and ethnic groups.
Irfan who was currently trying to make arrangements for a poor kid’s medical treatment abroad. He also sent us a medical certificate and some other details to organize help for those poor Shia families who have lost their only bread-winner at the hands of Takfiri Deobandi militants in recent years.
The most apt tribute to Irfan is to support his mission, i.e., to highlight and put a stop to Shia genocide and Sunni Sufi genocide taking place at the hands of Deobandi militants under the watchful nod of certain pro-Takfiri elements in the establishment, Chief Justice Iftikhar Chauhdry and an incompetent government of Asif Zardari.
Those who are paying vague tribute to Irfan without explicitly mentioning and supporting his clear stance on Shia genocide by Pakistan army-sponsored Jihadist Deobandi mercenaries are insulting his memory.

To understand why Deobandi militants killed Irfan and other Shia Muslims in Pakistan, refer to this fatwa by Deobandi Muslims most eminent seminary Darul Uloom Deoband which declares Shia Muslims as infidel (Kafir) and apostate (Murtid), hence worthy to be killed (wajib-ul-qatl). It is the violent implementation of such fatwas by the Takfiri Deobandi militants in Pakistan which has enabled murder of more than 21,000 Shia Muslims in Pakistan in the last few decades.

2۔۔۔حتی الامکان ہم مسلمانوں کو ان کے ساتھ سماجی ومعاشرتی اور مذہبی تعلقات رکھنے سے احتیاط کرنی چاہیے۔ان کی تجہیز وتکفین میں شرکت کرنا درست نہیں۔مساجد میں ان کے لیے چندہ وغیرہ لینا بھی درست نہیں،انکا ذبیحہ بھی درست نہیں۔آج کل اہل کتاب بھی دہریہ ہوتے ہیں اس لیے ان کے ذبیحے سے بھی احتیاط برتی جائے۔”
Question (summary): In your previous fatwas, you have described Shias as infidels (Kafir), apostate (Murtid) and unbeliever (Zindeeq). How do you categorize them as compared to Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Qadianis etc? Are we allowed to haver social interaction with Shias?
Answer (Fatwa): “Followers of Shia Isna Ashari sect are not to be ranked amongst (infidel such as) Jews, Christians, Hindus and Sikhs (i.e. Shias are worse than infidels). Instead Shias should be ranked along with Qadianis (Ahmadis), i.e., Shias too, like Qadianis, are infidels (Kafir) and apostate (Murtid). Shia leaders present their demands as sit-in continues
After a day of tragedy in Quetta in which over 100 Shias were killed and more than 200 wounded, Shias have staged a sit-in protest for indefinite period. A big number of women and children are also participating in it. The protest was called after local Shia leaders decided not to bury the dead unless their demands are met.
Their demands are:
Take concrete action against LEJ-ASWJ in Balochistan
Carry out targeted operation against LEJ-ASWJ
Arrest all the culprits and punish
Stop allowing publication of threats to Shia community by LeJ-SSP in local newspapers
Financially compensate over 1000 Shia victims, and provide free medical facilities to the wounded
Provide jobs to every victim who lost their guardians
Provide protection to the Shia businessmen, transporters, vendors, officers, school, college and university students
Set up security check posts of police in areas where Shias have been regularly targeted
Set up permanent check posts in and around Alamdar Road and Hazara Town
Provision of scanners, training the volunteers
Permission of volunteers
End of apartheid in university and other institutions against the Shia Hazaras, and all Shias
Resettle the Shia Hazara families who were evicted from Khuzdar and Machh and protect them

Obviously I am furious as you are about the targeted and indiscriminate killing of Shiias. We’ve all seen these takfiri terrorists and their work. The funding of theirs is coming from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. I’m afraid the proxy war in Syria is taking on a sectarian twist. Even secular Turkey is seeing tensions between Sunnis and Allawis in some areas. We as Muslims must totally THRASH this concept of Sunni and Shiia. We are humans, Pakistanis FIRST. These terrorists are doing the work of the devil himself. Onus is on the masses to confront and destroy these enemies (within and outside – whoever funding and supporting these groups)
ISI and Army have nothing to do with these gruesome and cold-blooded killings/bombings. There are many threats, they have foiled many bomb attempts on Shiia majalis. But when facing so many threats they are also prone to failure. Providing security in these cities is the job of the POLICE. But they are busy getting appointed based on political connections and not competence. And if Army is called to Quetta, then the liberals cry and claim they are imposing martial law on the province and the people. Make up your minds! We need police, and the judiciary needs to be totally over-hauled.
