میں نے دیکھا، تیری آنکھوں میں،
تیری آنکھوں میں، میں نے دیکھا،
اداسی ہے، اداسی ہے، نہ جانے کیوں،
نہ جانے کیوں، تھوڑی بغاوت بھی،
نہ جانے کیوں؟
تو باغی لگے، تو باغی لگے،
تیری آنکھوں میں بغاوت ہے،
مگر ایسی کہ جو سب کو اچھی لگتی ہے،
مگر میرے پیارے، بغاوت تو پوپولسٹ (Populist) نہیں ہوتی،
تیری آنکھوں میں حالات کی تشویش جائز ہو گی،
مگر کس نے کہ دیا تم سے کہ ہمیں احساس نہیں،
اور میرے دوست!
بغاوت تو گمنان تاریکی سے شروع ہو کر وہاں ہی ختم ہوتی ہے،
ہاں کسی کسی بغاوت کو روشنی کا اک لمحہ نصیب ہوتا ہے،
پر اس کی بھی قیمت صدیوں تک دینی ہوتی ہے،
ہاں یہ میں نے بہت دیکھا.
