Please watch the following two programs on Parachinar and Kurram Agency.
The people in Parachinar are desperately begging the Pakistan Government to send its security forces to save them from the genocide they face at the hands of Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
Their ordeal has continued for more than a year now.
Question: Why is not the Government of Pakistan intervening to end the blockade of innocent people of Parachinar by the Taliban / Sipah Sahaba / Al-Qaeda terrorists?
Answer: Because pro-Taliban rogue establishment is the mastermind behind this siege. It wants to punish the innocent Shias of Parachinar because they have refused to provide safe havens to Taliban to conduct their terrorist operations in Afghanistan.
Tanzeemul Momineen demands military operation in Kurram
* Organisation’s head says Malik’s statement that Afghan government is helping Toori tribe ‘baseless’
By Akhtar Amin
PESHAWAR: The NWFP Tanzeemul Momineen and the Tribal Areas on Thursday demanded launch of a military operation against militants in Kurram Agency to end the unrest in the area.
“The government is not taking any practical step and is only setting deadlines for launching of the operation against the militants,” Tanzeemul Momineen Central President Ishaq Bangash said.
“Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik had earlier set a 72-hour deadline for initiating action but none had been taken, which has proved that the government is not interested in ending the unrest and the militant activities in the agency,” he added. He condemned Malik’s statement that the Afghan government was helping the Toori tribe and had provided 10,000 Afghan forces to it in the ongoing clashes with the Bangash tribe.
Bangash said the statement was ‘baseless’ and Malik wanted to prolong the clashes by issuing such statements. He criticised the government for acting “as a silent spectator over the killing of hundreds of tribesmen”.
“On one hand, the Upper Kurram assistant political agent (APA) is saying that Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan is completely sealed and there is no incursion from the Afghan side, while, on the other hand, Malik is issuing false statements that Afghan government is helping the Toori tribe,” the Tanzeemul Momineen president said. Flanked by other members of the organisation, including Haji Iqbal Hussain and Zakir Hussain, he said, Malik had promised to launch an operation against the militants but no such action was taken.
He added that during the protest demonstration of both the tribes in Islamabad on June 23, 2008, Malik had pledged that the Kurram Militia would be withdrawn from the area, PIA flights to Parachinar would be resumed and supply of edibles to the agency restored but no action was taken in that respect.
He said that Toori tribe was fighting for their survival in the area as the Taliban and their supporters wanted to seize their areas.
Bangash revealed that they had seen foreign fighters including Arabs, Uzbeks and local Taliban from Waziristan, Orakzai, Darra Adam Khel, and Bara (Khyber Agency) in the Kurram Agency clashes.
The Tanzeemul Momineen welcomed the supply of medicines to the agency by the government and said that they wanted the Pakistan International Airline flights for Parachinar to resume, the Tal-Parachinar Road to open and its control given to the military.
‘Taliban killing 30 Shias a day’
By Fareed Farooqui
KARACHI: The Jafferia Alliance of Pakistan (JAP) held protests outside different imambargahs and mosques after Jumma prayers against the killings of Shia Muslims in Kurram Agency and Parachinar.
“The government and democratic forces in the country should take immediate notice of the killings of innocent Shia Muslims in Kurram Agency and Parachinar where the Taliban are regularly killing 20 to 30 people every day,” said Senator Allama Abbas Kumeli, the JAP president, while addressing the main protest outside Masjid Shah-e-Najaf, Martin Quarters, Jamshed Town.
“Leaving more than 500,000 Shias at the mercy of the Taliban is a conspiracy against the country.
We will have a worse situation than Afghanistan if the government, the Pakistan Army and political and religious parties fail to stop the Taliban from spreading terrorism in the area.”
Kumeli said that the Taliban have no concern with Islam or its preaching but are working in the interest of America. They are creating a weak image of Pakistan and, he added, spreading a false image of Islam in the world.
“The government should not give a free hand to the Taliban in the name of a peace agreement but should create a balance, and ensure the rights of people according to the constitution of Pakistan,” he demanded.
Allama Furqan Hyder Abidi warned that the ‘Millat-e-Jafferia’ will call a long march to Parachinar if the government fails to stop the Taliban. Maulana Hussain Masoodi, Allama Aftab Jafferi and others also addressed the protest demonstrations.
