Blood knows no religion – by H.A. Khan

Yesterday when I entered my room after a walk and switched on the TV to watch news, it was so tragic and sad to watch two most heinous attacks against the innocent people belonging to a minority sect in Lahore.

More than 90 innocent people have lost their lives. The very first reaction of mine is that we are still paying The price of the marde-momin marde-haq General Zia’s worst policies when he empowered religious fundamentalism in Pakistan. General Zia and his ISI made mullahs the all supreme and powerful; religious fanatics today believe that only what they believe in is the right path and all others are infidels or non-Muslims. Needless to say that time has come to eradicate this plant of fanaticism and extremism with all true intentions to safeguard our generations and all the people of Pakistan irrespective of their sect and religious recognition.

I remember that the first foreign minister who was elected by Mr Jinnah was an Ahmadi (Sir Zafarullah Khan), and Pakistan’s only Nobel laureate Dr Abdus Salam also belonged to the same sect.

I am shocked to see that even our middle class literate people’s minds are not thinking about the fact that religious fanaticism will not leave anyone live happily as fanatics only agenda is to impose their so called sharia law which will eradicate all the human liberties, and only people with beards and ammmas will be allowed to openly execute their wishes with all supreme power.

Our nation has always voted against mullahs and they never wish to be ruled by religious fanatics at all. Once again I will request all readers to voice against this dreadful act against our own brothers and sisters. I strongly hope that the present PPP government will be bold enough to undo the act in the Constitution which announced the Ahmadis as a non-Muslim which I firmly believe was the mistake of Mr. Z.A. Bhutto.

All my sympathies are with the affected families and I pray for the innocent souls of all the martyrs to be blessed by Allah.
