LAHORE
PAKISTAN Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Monday demanded immediate justice for the Pakistanis who had lost their lives at the hands of Americans and predicted a massive revolution in the country if the rulers did not mend their ways.
Addressing a big gathering outside the Data Darbar Complex at the Bhati Chowk, Imran said the PTI was the name of a ‘revolution’ which could not be stopped. He slated the ‘puppet’ rulers of Islamabad and Raiwind for their constant loyalty to the US rather than their own people. Expressing profound grief over the suicide of Shumaila, widow of Faheem, a Pakistani murdered by Raymond Davis, said now four dead bodies were awaiting justice which must be done. He said all the four Pakistanis as well as all those who had been killed mercilessly in drone strikes should be given justice by the rulers.
The PTI chief said people of Pakistan wanted to see their country free from all the evils and it was possible only if all were treated equally as per law, adding that if dacoits were given protection under the NRO, no good could be expected.
Urging people to rise up against the corrupt rulers and the US slaves, Imran said that the situation in the country could be controlled if the public was united and come out of their houses.Hailing the Lahorites for making the PTI gathering a big success, Imran said a revolution had started from the Walled City, the historic part of Lahore, and like the past, people of the City would play their due role to save their country from the clutches of corrupt rulers.
Mazhar Iqbal Butt, known as Bhalli Butt, who got elected councillor of the Municipal Corporation Lahore (MACL) in 1987, 1991 and 2001 on a PPP ticket announced joining the PTI. He said Imran Khan was the only leader who could steer the country out of crisis. He said that he remained a committed worker of the PPP because it was led by sincere and bold leadership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. However, he said, now a corrupt mafia was ruling the PPP.

ISLAMABAD: Scores of civil society members staged a protest demonstration against the killing of Pakistan national by Raymond Davis and demand death penalty for US official Raymond Davis here on Wednesday.
They were assembled here in front of Parliament House and were chanted slogans against the government and American High-ups.
Protestors on the occasion said that government will have to clear the public that whether the America is our alliance in war against terror or it was doing war against us.
They said that if the political parties support the Davis release then the whole nation would sabotage all the parties.
They alleged that the High-ups of our country were just saving their accounts due to which they didn’t want to punish Davis and finding different pretext to release him.
They were of the view that it will be the great injustice if the government hand over the Davis to America adding that it would harm our sovereignty.
They demand of the Prime minister, President and Chief justice not to hand over American national to US and award him death sentence.

Youths protest against democracy

LAHORE: Some 150 youths gathered at the Liberty roundabout on Sunday in a protest organised via social networking site Facebook, to demand that Pakistan scrap its democratic political system and replace it with an “Islamic” system of governance.
It was the third consecutive week that Youth 4 Change had organised a protest “against the democratic system and the American hegemony in Pakistan”. The protesters chanted slogans in support of Islam. They held placards and banners denouncing America and in support of Dr Afia Siddiqui, and in support for the protests in Cairo at Tahrir (Liberty) Square.
The protesters demanded the closure of all US embassies and consulates in Pakistan, an end to the war in Afghanistan, that Raymond Davis to be tried under Islamic law, that Dr Siddiqui be released, and that the armed forces of Pakistan obey Allah and the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and unite the Muslim Ummah under one caliph.
Junaid Khan, an engineering student at the National University of Science and Technology, said the protest was meant to push for change. “In Pakistan, democracy and dictatorship have been tried and failed. Now it is time to bring in an Islamic system. That is the only way for Pakistan to progress,” he said.
Farooq Qazi, who works in advertising, said it was time for Pakistan to stand up to America and protect its sovereignty.
He said that Raymond Davis case was not the core issue between the two countries, but that Pakistan was dependent on the US for aid.
He said that the Islamic system had been shown to work over the last 1,300 years. “Islam provides policies for all kinds of business. It cares for the rich and the poor,” he said.
Qazi added that there were a lot of misconceptions about Islam as a violent religion, but it was actually quite caring. “We should try an Islamic system,” he said.
