Don’t kill Quaid-e-Azam: MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s commendable statement on Shia genocide
Editor’s note: LUBP appreciates Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s unambiguous condemnation of Shia genocide in Pakistan at the hands of Taliban and ASWJ-SSP. We also appreciate the fact that in departure from false propaganda by the Ziaist and Jamaatia researchers such as Dr. Safdar Mehmood and sectarian preachers such as Dr. Israr Ahmed and Shabbir Ahmed Usmani, Altaf Hussain clearly acknowledged that the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah himself was a Shia Muslim and that his first private funeral was held as per Shia fiqh at the insistence of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah.

LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain says elements killing Shia Muslims, after taking them out of buses and verifying their identity, are in fact conspiring to disintegrate Pakistan.
All patriotic Pakistanis must boycott such ruthless elements, he said while speaking to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on telephone, a MQM press release said on Wednesday.
Hussain said Pakistan was being encircled by threats from all sides and people belonging to Shia community were being killed. He said it was gross injustice and termed it as act of enmity against the country.
He said it was a historical reality that founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah belonged to Khoja Twelver Shia sect and when he died, two separate funeral prayers were offered.
One funeral prayers was offered by Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani, and other funeral prayer offered by a Shia cleric. No one could possibly deny these historical facts. Anyone challenging this would be lying, he stated.
The MQM chief said Shias are also Pakistanis. Even Hindus, Sikhs and Christians living in Pakistan were citizens of equal stature. Elements compelling Hindus, Sikhs or other non-Muslims to leave Pakistan were, in fact, doing injustice to Pakistan, and brushing aside teachings of Quaid-i-Azam with contempt.
He said country would be lost in darkness if patriotic Pakistanis did not come forward to put an end to this injustice. All educated, enlightened, moderate Pakistanis should boycott heartless elements killing innocent people.
The press release said agreeing to assertions of Hussain, Prime Minister Ashraf said killing of innocent people on basis of their religious beliefs, whether Shia or any other sect or religion, was height of injustice, utter bestiality.

Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was the undisputed leader of the Pakistani nation and he never presented himself as a Shia leader, so MQM chief Altaf Hussain should refrain from doing so, said Jamaat-i-Islami Deputy Secretary General Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha on Thursday.
Piracha was responding to comments made by Hussain on Wednesday. “Aftaf Hussain should spare the Quaid-i-Azam and try not to project him as a disputed personality by terming him Shia,” he said in a press statement.
Piracha said that the killing of any human being, whether a Shia or a Sunni or anyone else, on ethnic grounds or for extortion was inhuman and must be condemned. He said Pakistan’s enemies wanted to divide the country along sectarian lines and Pakistani politicians should avoid playing into their hands.

Dear Pakistani Shias: Instead of being cynical, encourage those leaders who are stepping up to condemn #ShiaGenocide. Show maturity & grace!
Of course, nobody is asking them to completely trust political parties or leaders, however, keep your doors of dialogue open in order to encourage political parties to have more durable, principled approach against religious extremis and terrorism.
Being reactionary and cynical won’t help any one.
Well, i don’t think, Altaf Hussain has played any Vote earning tactics, he just spoken out the truth, by the way, If any ways some nuts thing like this, they should better understand that by supporting Shias, he is also losing votes of ASWJ-SSP sympathiser supporting MQM.
MWM and other Shia (emerging political groups) are no use, and i can not vote to them as we have already seen TJP / TNFJ in the past how Sajid Naqvi supported and made alise with MMA.

Allama Mashhadi told Altaf Hussain that his fearless statements, issued recently after the killings of the Shia people, were a source of consolation for the oppressed people. He said that Altaf Hussain was on the path of truth and justice. Talking to the Ulema, Altaf Hussain said that he valued their sentiments and thoughts. He asserted that he had always supported the truth without giving any considerations to the fall-out. “My parents had taught me to speak the truth instead of going after the majority.” The Ulema assured their cooperation to Altaf Hussain in his quest for bringing religious tolerance and sectarian harmony.

Mohammed ali jeena bhai was born as Ismaili khoja muslim.
In 1916(or 1914) when his Parsi wife died w/o accepting Islam,some political rivals in Bombay opposed allowing to bury her in Khoja funeral home. Ishna ashari allowed and he accepted that sister faith.
Born in any faith is not ones choice. Agakhan 3rd who made great cotribution was also Shia.When he reached Lahore Rail station his Buggy was carried(removing horses)by Allama iqbal and Maulana Zafarali khan(civil military gazzette)and said they are proud to do so for Prince of Islam…(no faith distinction).
Jinnah, in 1948 said he is first Pakistani and then faith.
When Mullah opposed him(called non muslim)he said i am advocate of peoples cause…no matter what is my faith.When u go to Doctor/lawyer u dont ask faith.

All sects faith isIslam aand the people belonging to different sectsare brothers. We should not discriminate on the basis of reigionm color, race, caste , or food.
