Rigi’s execution in Iran: Why can’t Pakistan do this to Malik Ishaq and other terrorists?
Abdolmalek Rigi, head of Jundullah, a sectarian terrorist group (Iranian version of the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan) was today executed in Iran for his involvement in terrorist acts against the state and people of Iran.
He was hanged at dawn at Tehran’s Evin prison in the presence of the families of his victims.
While this news has been widely reported in the international press, I could not help but notice three facts which are either ignored or distorted by the international media:
1. Jundullah, a terrorist organisation, is being presented as Sunni militancy. Far from truth, the group, Jundullah, does not represent Sunnis. Not unlike other terrorist organisations in the region, Al Qaeda, Taliban and Sipah-e-Sahaba, Jundullah recruits extremist (not moderate) Deobandi and Wahhabi Muslims. However, it would be naive as well as misleading to categorise Jundullah as a Sunni militant organisation. Jundullah is a terrorist organisation, and must be labelled as such.
2. The Iranian authorities’ quick hearing and execution of Rigi also points to another fact, i.e., the willingness and the resolve of Iran to track down and punish those beasts who kill in the name of religion or ethnicity. Now compare the Iranian response to terrorism with the Pakistani response to terrorism.
Why can’t Pakistan convict any terrorists?
The difference is clear. Whereas in Iran, the state and its various institutions are firmly committed to protect the state and the nation from acts of terrorism, in Pakistan, certain influential institutions (ISI in particular) are in fact creator, mentor and protector of terrorist organisations (such as Taliban, Al Qaeda, Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Taiba).
In Pakistan, Jundullah is known for carrying out acts of terrorism not only against Shias in Quetta and Karachi (in collaboration with the Sipah-e-Sahaba) but also against other civilian and military targets. Only yesterday, 19 June 2010, four Junduallh terrorists were able to flee from police custody in Karachi.
The outcome is visible. In Iran, acts of terrorism are few and far between, but in Pakistan, they are an everyday affair.
3. The international media also largely ignored the confession of Rigi in which he acknowledged that the holy father of the ISI, i.e., American CIA, was involved in abetting and facilitating Jundullah’s terrorism against Iran.
Here is the transcript of Rigi’s confession broadcasted live on Press TV on February 25.
’After Obama was elected, the Americans contacted us and they met me in Pakistan. They met us after clashes with my group around March 17 in (the southeastern city of) Zahedan, and he (the US operative) said that Americans had requested a meeting.
I said we didn’t have any time for a meeting and if we do help them they should promise to give us aid. They said they would cooperate with us and will give me military equipment, arms and machine guns. They also promised to give us a base along the border with Afghanistan next to Iran.
They asked to meet me and we said where should we meet you and he said in Dubai. We sent someone to Dubai and we told a person to ask a place for myself in Afghanistan from the area near the operations and they complied that they would sort out the problem for us and they will find Mr. Rigi a base and guarantee his own security in Afghanistan or in any of the countries adjacent to Iran so that he can carry on his operations.
They told me that in Kyrgyzstan they have a base called Manas near Bishkek, and that a high-ranking person was coming to meet me and that if such high-ranking people come to the United Arab Emirates, they may be observed by intelligence people but in a place like Bishkek this high-ranking American person could come and we could reach an agreement on making personal contacts. But after the last major operation we took part in, they said that they wanted to meet with us.
The Americans said Iran was going its own way and they said our problem at the present is Iran… not al-Qaeda and not the Taliban, but the main problem is Iran. We don’t have a military plan against Iran. Attacking Iran is very difficult for us (the US). The CIA is very particular about you and is prepared to do anything for you because our government has reached the conclusion that there was nothing Americans could do about Iran and only I could take care of the operations for them.
One of the CIA officers said that it was too difficult for us to attack Iran militarily, but we plan to give aid and support to all anti-Iran groups that have the capability to wage war and create difficulty for the Iranian (Islamic) system. They reached the conclusion that your organization has the power to create difficulties for the Islamic Republic and they are prepared to give you training and/or any assistance that you would require, in terms of telecommunications security and procedures as well as other support, the Americans said they would be willing to provide it at an extensive level.’ (Source)
Charges against Rigi
Source: BBC
Four months after being captured by Iranian security forces when he was flying over the Persian Gulf en route to Kyrgyzstan, Mr Rigi was hanged on Sunday morning in accordance with a decision by the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
“The head of the armed counter-revolutionary group in the east of the country… was responsible for armed robbery, assassination attempts, armed attacks on the army and police and on ordinary people, and murder,” a court statement said.
Jundallah was “responsible for the killing of 154 members of security forces and other innocent people and wounding of 320 people since 2003” and was “linked to members of foreign intelligence services”, it added.
Mr Rigi had allegedly pleaded guilty to forming the “terrorist group Jundallah which was fighting the Islamic republic” and a number of other charges.
“He collaborated and ordered 15 armed abductions, confessed to three murders, and ordered the murders of tens of citizens, police and military personnel through bombings and armed actions,” the court statement added.
Jundullah has said it was responsible for a string of high-profile attacks in Sistan-Baluchistan, including a suicide bombing near the Pakistani border that killed 42 people, including six senior Revolutionary Guards commanders, and a bombing in a Shia mosque in Zahedan that killed 25 people.
Evidence of US support for Junduallh (for references visit the Wikipedia link provided below):
A report by Brian Ross and Christopher Isham of ABC News in April 2007 alleged that Jundallah “has been secretly encouraged and advised by American officials” to destabilize the government in Iran,[24] citing U.S. and Pakistani tribal and intelligence sources.[13] The report alleges that U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney discussed the activity of the group against Iran during his visit to Pakistan.[13] In a blog, the network stated that the support was believed to have started in 2005 and been arranged so that the U.S. provided no direct funding to the group, which would require congressional oversight and attract media attention, drawing parallels between American support for Jundallah and U.S. involvement in Nicaragua in the Iran-Contra Affair.[25]
The report was denied by Pakistan official sources.[26] But despite their denial ABC stood by their claim.[27] Alexis Debat, one of the sources quoted by Ross and Isham in their report alleging US support for the Jundullah, resigned from ABC News in June 2007, after ABC officials claimed that he faked several interviews while working for the company.[28] Ross went on to say the Jundullah story had many sources, adding, “We’re only worried about the things Debat supplied, not about the substance of that story.” According to Ross, ABC had found nothing that would undermine the stories Mr. Debat worked on. However, he acknowledged that as the stories of fabrications continue to roll in, the network “at some point has to question whether anything he said can be believed.”[29] This caused the network in 2007 to send a second team of producers to Pakistan investigating the original reports.[27]
Fars News Agency, an Iranian state run news agency, reported that the United States government is involved in PRMI’s terrorists acts.[30]
Gholamali Haddadadel, Iranian parliament speaker in 2007, speaking to reporters said, Jundallah is part of pressure tactics used by United States to subdue Iran and hoped with Pakistani help, Iran would be able to defeat Jundallah.[31]
On April 2, 2007, Abdolmalek Rigi appeared on the Persian service of Voice of America, the official broadcasting service of the United States government, which identified Rigi as “the leader of popular Iranian resistance movement” and used the title of “Doctor” with his name. This incidence resulted in public condemnation by the Iranian-American community in the U.S, many of whom are opponents of the Iranian government, as well as the Iranian government.[32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39]
Investigative journalist Seymour Hersh revealed another report in July 2008 that US congressional leaders had secretly agreed to former president George W. Bush’s USD 400 million funding request, which gives the US a free hand in arming and funding terrorist groups such as Jundullah militants.[24]
Iranian speaker of parliament Ali Larijani, three days after the 2009 terror attack against Zahidan mosque revealed, that Iran had intelligence reports regarding the United States links with certain terrorist groups operating against Iran and accused the United States, of commanding them. He implicated the United States in trying to start a civil war between Shia and Sunni segments of Iranian society.[40][40] Regarding the investigation of the terrorist act he added that Iran would want Pakistan to cooperate fully and not become a mere part of the designs against Iran.[41]
According to The Daily Telegraph Jundallah is just one part of a Black Operation Plan involving psychological operations and other covert operations to support dissents among minorities (Baloch, Arab, Kurds, Azeris, etc.) in Iran, which along with tactics of military posturing, risky maneuvers and occasional conciliatory gestures are designed to improve United States bargaining position in any future negotiation with Iran.[10][13][13][42] Furthermore these Black Operations build upon a coordinated campaign consisting of disinformation, placement of negative newspaper articles, propaganda broadcasts, the manipulation of Iran’s monetary currency and international banking transactions.[10][43][44]
Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, has said, United States intelligence operatives have been meeting and coordinating with Anti-Iranian militants in Afghanistan as well as encouraging drug smuggling into Iran.[40] Jundallah is currently not included in the U.S. State Department’s list of foreign designated terrorist groups. Inclusion on the list would prohibit US citizens, companies, or government agencies from supporting the group, and trigger criminal or civil penalties for doing so.[45][46] A former Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army General Aslam Beg has accused the Coalition Forces in Afghanistan of training and supporting Jundallah against Iran.[47]
After Rigi was arrested on 23 February 2010 Iran’s intelligence minister Heydar Moslehi at a press conference in Tehran claimed that Rigi had been at a US base in Afghanistan 24 hours before his arrest. At a press conference he flourished a photograph which he said showed Rigi outside the base with two other men, though he gave no details of where the base was, or how or when the photograph was obtained. Photographs were also shown of an Afghan passport and identity card said to have been given by the Americans to Rigi. Moslehi also alleged that Rigi had met the then NATO secretary-general, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, in Afghanistan in 2008, and had visited European countries. He said agents had tracked Rigi’s movements for five months, calling his arrest “a great defeat for the US and UK”.[48]
On February 25 Iranian state television broadcast a statement by Rigi stating he had had American support and that
“The Americans said Iran was going its own way and they said our problem at the present is Iran… not al-Qaeda and not the Taliban, but the main problem is Iran. We don’t have a military plan against Iran. Attacking Iran is very difficult for us (the US). They [Americans] promised to help us and they said that they would co-operate with us, free our prisoners and would give us [Jundullah] military equipment, bombs, machine guns, and they would give us a base.
BBC News carried a report on the statements, noting that “It is not possible to say whether Abdolmalek Rigi made the statement freely or under duress.” The US has denied having links with Rigi’s group, Jundullah.[49][50]. Reuters also reported that Geoff Morrell, Pentagon press secretary, dismissed claims by the Iranian government that Mr. Rigi had been at an American military base just before his arrest. Morrell called the accusations of American involvement “nothing more than Iranian propaganda.” [51]

‘CIA using Quetta, Kabul to destabilise Iran’

LAHORE: Iran has uncovered an elaborate two-year-old plot by US Central Intelligence Agency to systematically destabilise the country, alleges the Islamic Republic’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mash’allah Shakeri.
In an interview with Express News, Shakeri charged that both Quetta in Pakistan and Kabul in Afghanistan were being used as planning grounds by the US in this regard. “Under the plan, US$400 million per year has been reserved by the US Congress… The plan was made two years ago,” said the ambassador, whose country has strained relations with Washington for the last three decades, particularly since current Iranian President Mahmud Ahmedinejad took office. The US also spearheaded the recent UN Security Council resolution slapping fresh sanctions on Iran over its alleged intentions to build nuclear bomb, something that the Shakeri says the Islamic Republic is not looking to do, since it is haram.
Criticising US presence in Afghanistan he said, “America’s very presence in Afghanistan is counterproductive for terrorism. [It] has failed grossly in bringing peace and stability in the area.”
Speaking on the presence of tension between Iran and Pakistan, the ambassador said, “Pakistan disappointed us by not giving access to anti-Iranian Abdolmalek Rigi.”
“We knew Rigi was moving freely [between] Pakistan and Kabul, but Pakistan, despite our constant requests, did not help us arrest him. Pakistan said that they don’t know anything about the Rigi group… in the presence of such a strong monitoring system, how can I believe that Pakistan was unaware about all these things?” he added
On the gas pipeline agreement with Pakistan, he felt that the project has enhanced Pakistan’s strategic importance, particularly in relation to India. “In addition to the added economic value of billions of dollars, the Iran gas pipeline agreement has boosted the strategic value of Pakistan in the region. If there is any third country recipient, they have to recognise that Pakistan is going to provide a peaceful passage,” he said.
Answering a question on the silence regarding investigations into the attempt on the life of Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran, Shakeri said that there would have to be “patience” on the issue, shooting back that a number of Iranians had died in Pakistan.
“One ambassador of Pakistan is hurt by a hooligan, whereas a number of our diplomats, students and engineers have lost their lives on Pakistani soil. One of our diplomats was abducted; [Iranian diplomats] Sadiq Ganji was killed in Lahore and [Muhammad Ali] Rahimi was killed in Multan. Iranian students who came here for training lost their lives; engineers who were building a bridge in Karachi, their reward was the bullets they received,” he recalled.

Rigi threatens Sunni clerics ahead of elections
Mon, 18 May 2009 09:25:21 GMT
Font size :
During the final months of 2008, reports surfaced that Jundullah ringleader Abdolmalek Rigi had been seriously wounded in clashes on the Iran-Pakistan border.
Militants of the terrorist Jundullah group are planning new acts of sabotage ahead of the upcoming presidential elections in Iran.
The group’s ringleader Abdolmalek Rigi, backed by the United States and Pakistan, has recently called on Sunni clerics to discourage people in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province from participating in the June 12 elections, the website Tabnak reported.
In his message, Rigi has threatened the Sunni clerics with assassination should they make efforts aimed at encouraging the people to actively participate in the elections.
Sistan-Baluchestan has been the target of terrorist operations by the Pakistan-based terrorist organization — which is suspected of being affiliated with al-Qaeda.
Rigi describes his terrorist cell as a ‘national movement’ and denies any link to Washington.
He, however, has called for the creation of “The United States of Iran” and was introduced by Voice of America in 2007 as the “the leader of the popular resistance movement of Iran.”
Citing US and Pakistani intelligence sources, in 2007 ABC news reported that the terrorist group “has been secretly encouraged and advised by American officials” to destabilize the government in Iran.
In another report in July, 2008 investigative journalist Seymour Hersh revealed that US congressional leaders had secretly agreed to former president George W. Bush’s USD 400 million funding request for a major escalation in covert operations in Iran.
Under the ruling, the US can arm and fund terrorist groups such as the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) and Jundullah militants.

KARACHI: Police blame Jundullah for Ashura blast
By Our Staff Reporter
Monday, 25 Jan, 2010
KARACHI, Jan 24: Police claimed on Sunday the arrest of four men for their suspected involvement in the main Ashura procession blast and the two low-intensity blasts that occurred on the eighth and ninth of Muharram.
As many as 45 people were killed and about 100 others wounded in the blast in the main Ashura procession on M.A. Jinnah Road.
Speaking at a press conference at the Central Police Office, Capital City Police Officer Waseem Ahmed once again defended the measures adopted for the Ashura procession’s security and described them as foolproof.
However, the CCPO conceded that the measures could not prevent the attack.
The four suspects, Murtaza alias Shakil, Muhammad Shaqib Farooqi, Wazir Muhammad and Murad Shah, were arrested by the Special Investigation Unit of police late on Saturday night when they were traveling in a car on Hawkesbay Road, the CCPO said.
The police seized an improvised explosive device, police uniforms, police T-shirts, four pistols and raw explosive material from them, he said.
The CCPO said the police got a vital clue from the subscriber identity module (SIM) of the cellphone which was found attached to the improvised explosive device (IED) found in Shadman Town on Jan 1.
The call data obtained from the SIM led to the identification of the suspects and then the police kept a close watch on them in an attempt to arrest their accomplices, including their ring-leader, said Waseem Ahmed.
The four suspects belonging to Jundullah had a history of terrorist attacks carried out in the city, including the attacks on the Karachi corps commander and the Gulistan-i-Jauhar police station, the Pakistan-American Culture Centre blasts and the Shah Latif Town police encounter, he said.
The city police chief said that during interrogations the suspects had confessed to having carried out the Ashura blast and the earlier two attacks at Khilafat Chowk and Qasba Mor, in which scores of people were injured.
The suspects also disclosed that they had planned an attack on Nagan Chowrangi on the seventh of Muharram, but due to the heavy deployment of law-enforcement personnel they could not plant an IED, he said.
The bomb which was found in Shadman Town was actually meant to be used against a Shia scholar, the city police chief said but withheld identity of the scholar.
The group had made five bombs of different weights to carry out a series of blasts in the city, he said.
During the past two years, the group had remained involved in several heinous crimes, including bank heists, and was planning to target law-enforcement personal, he said.
Replying to a question that if any of their accomplices were present in the city, the CCPO said they might have escaped to Waziristan.Answering a question that why only low-ranking officers were being made scapegoats for the failure to thwart the Ashura blast and subsequent arson attacks, the CCPO said that action had been taken only against those officers who had failed to perform their duties.
They had been asked to carry out an extensive search of the procession route, but they did not take the orders seriously enough. Subsequently they even failed to arrest the suspects involved in the arson attacks, Mr Ahmed said.
He added that departmental inquires had been initiated and if any senior officer was found negligent of his duties, he would see the same fate.
Answering a question about the arrests of the suspects involved in the arson attacks, he showed grabs from closed-circuit television camera footage, saying that 33 suspects had been arrested in connection with the arson attacks.
About the police performance during the past two years, the CCPO said that 66 terrorists had been arrested and six others killed by police during that period.

Jundullah a threat to Pak-Iran ties, gas pipeline
Monday, June 01, 2009
By Amir Mir
LAHORE: The rising terrorist activities of the Pakistan-based militant organisation, Jundullah (Soldiers of God) threatens not only the Pak-Iran diplomatic ties but also the future of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, which was signed on May 22 by President Asif Zardari and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.
According to well-placed diplomatic sources in Islamabad, Tehran has lodged a strong protest with Islamabad over the failure of its law enforcement agencies to dismantle the Jundullah network in Pakistan, which has claimed responsibility for the May 28 deadly suicide attack inside the Ameer al-Momenin mosque in Zahedan that killed 25 people and wounded 125 others.
The sources said Iranian officials had expressed their deep concern over the failure of the Pakistani authorities to proceed against the Jundullah network in Pakistan despite having been given specific intelligence.
The Pakistani ambassador was told that the Zahedan suicide attack could have been averted had Islamabad acted in time on the Iranian intelligence information. The Iranian authorities had reportedly told the Pakistani ambassador that the three terrorists (Haji Noti Zehi, Gholam Rasoul Shahi Zehi and Zabihollah Naroui), hanged publicly on May 30 in Zahedan for their alleged participation in the mosque bombing, had confessed to illegally bringing explosives from Pakistan into Iran and giving them to the main person behind the suicide attack.
Diplomatic circles in Islamabad say Tehranís concern over the growing terrorist activities of Jundullah, across the border in Iran, could be gauged from the fact that its Ambassador to Pakistan Mashallah Shakeri had addressed an unusual press conference in Islamabad on March 20, accusing Pakistan of allowing its soil to be used against Iran and demanding concrete steps to contain its activities.
While claiming that the Jundullah network was located inside the Balochistan province, Shakeri had asked Islamabad to curb its anti-Iran activities by taking a decisive action against its leadership. The Iranian ambassador had given broad hints at that time that an Iranian diplomat, who had disappeared in Peshawar in 2008, could also have been kidnapped by Jundullah. In his reaction the same day, a Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman had stated that Islamabad was determined that the Pakistani soil would not be allowed to be used by Jundullah in any manner to destabilise the Iranian government.
However, the diplomatic circles in Islamabad say the Iranian authorities had warned the Pakistani ambassador to Tehran on May 30 that Islamabadís failure to act against the Jundullah network in Balochistan could also jeopardise the future of the recently-signed Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. They pointed out that the Pakistani and the Iranian presidents had only signed the initial agreement after 14 years of delayed negotiations and the most crucial gas sales and purchase agreement had not yet been finalised.
On the other hand, the Pakistani authorities in Islamabad do not rule out the possibility of a third player aiding and abetting the anti-Iran activities of Jundullah with a view to damage the Pak-Iran ties and sabotage the ëpeace pipeline projectí.
Asked about the origin of Jundullah, the sources said the organisation ostensibly represents the Baloch inside Iran who are disaffected with the Tehran government. While being interrogated at a Quetta jail, the sources said, Abdul Hamid Rigi, the brother of the Jundullah chief, had maintained that the group was formed to protect the rights of the Baloch in the Iranian Balochistan-Sistan region.
While asserting that the Pakistani authorities are making all possible efforts to dismantle the Jundullah network from Balochistanís soil, authoritative sources in the Ministry of Interior pointed out that the militant organisation in question had actually stepped up its anti-Iran activities following the June 15, 2008 extradition of Abdul Hamid Rigi from Pakistan to Iran.
Highlighting Pakistanís efforts to recover the Iranian diplomat kidnapped from Peshawar, the Interior Ministry sources said the Karachi Police had raided a Karachi locality in February 2008 to retrieve the Iranian diplomat alive. In the ensuing battle, two policemen died while 35 men belonging to at least two banned outfits, the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and the Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan, were arrested. Yet the Iranian diplomat could not be recovered.

Abdul, how can we execute terrorists when courts allow them to go scot free most of the times? It is ironic that in that case “police encounters” seem to be a logical solution.
600 suicide bombers in Karachi, claims Jundullah
Mon Feb 04 2008 06:46:23 GMT+0000 (GMT Standard Time) by admin
Karachi, Feb.4 (ANI): There are at least 600 suicide bombers present in Karachi, and there is a possibility of either of them planning a major attack in the city, claimed Jundullah activists Qasim Toori and Danish alias Talha while being interrogated by law-enforcement officials here.
They said that a majority of the suicide bombers were former students of Islamabads Lal Masjid.
The two militants, who were captured along with women and children during a raid here on January 29, have been handed over to the Anti-Violent Crime Unit (AVCU), reports the Daily Times.
A third militant, who was killed during the raid, has been identified as Gohar Muhammad alias Abrar Keamari Wallah.
Jundullah or the Army of God is a Sunni terrorist organization with links to al-Qaeda] that is based in Balochistan. Jundullah is made up of Pakistani Islamists who turned against their ISI patrons’ efforts to block actions against the West. In 2004, Jundullah operatives attempted to assassinate the commander of the Karachi-based V Corps, Lieutenant-General Ahsan Saleem Hayat.
Jundullah also executed a suicide bombing near the U.S. consulate in Karachi in March 2006 on the eve of President George Bush’s visit. Ata-ur-Rahman, Jundullah’s chief, had past links with the Khalil’s Harkat the terror group that gave birth to Sheikh and his mentor, Maulana Masood Azhar.
The group has been identified as a terrorist organization by Iran and Pakistan. (ANI)

Jundullah men free 4 UTPs
2 dead, 3 injured in city courts attack
* Police constable Shahbaz Ghulam Rasool and UTP Murad Shah killed
By Faraz Khan
KARACHI: A policeman and a Jundullah militant were killed, while three under-trial prisoners (UTPs) escaped on Saturday in an attack at the city courts by Jundullah activists.
As per details, some six to eight militants entered the city courts around midday through Masjid-e-Bilal located inside the courts’ premises to free their four under-trial companions, hurling hand grenades and resorting to blanket firing.
Police constable Shahbaz Ghulam Rasool, 37, was deputed outside the courts lockup when the militants killed him and freed their companions, providing them with hand grenades.
Following the attack, the mosque’s windows were shattered and its exterior suffered damage as well.
It is pertinent to mention here that the four Jundullah militants – Murad Shah, Shakeeb Farooqui, Murtaza and Wazeer – were arrested for their involvement in the Muharram 8, 9 and 10 incidents.
These four militants belong to Jundullah’s third chain led by Arab militant Hamza Joffy alias Haji Mumtaz, an al-Qaeda operative.
As per senior police officials, the attackers were split in two groups, one of which was responsible for freeing their companions, while the other was responsible for transporting them.
After fleeing the court premises, a police mobile intercepted the UTPs near Jodia Bazaar.
The militants attacked the mobile and a battle ensued. Police succeeded in shooting one of the militants, Shah, who was trying to attack the mobile with a hand grenade. The hand grenade blew up in his hand, resulting in his immediate death.
Three passers-by identified as Sarfaraz, Abdul Kalam and Usman were also wounded in the incident and taken to the hospital.
However, the militants, including the three escaped prisoners, escaped before the heavy contingent of law enforcers arrived at the scene.
Special Investigation Unit chief Senior Superintendent of Police Raja Umer Khattab has termed Farooqui and Murtaza as a big threat.
He said these four militants were being tried at the Anti-Terrorism Court, but the case of recovery of a car was being heard at the lower court.
As per reports, security has been beefed up and a special team to arrest the militants has been formed.
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has instructed the director general of the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh and Capital City Police Officer Waseem Ahmed to ensure the arrest of the militants.

Efficient police
Two cops escort four terrorists!
Sunday, June 20, 2010
By Salis bin Perwaiz
Karachi
Only two cops were escorting four terrorists to the City Courts on Saturday when heavily armed militants stormed the court premises, lobbed hand grenades and whisked away their men.
Investigators told The News on condition of anonymity that the security measures while escorting the militants to the court were not adequate for such high-profile terrorists. Only two constables — Shahbaz Hussain and Imran — were tasked to take the four alleged Jundullah militants to the court.
Sources said that whenever high-profile terrorists are produced before court, the court police and the area police are informed in advance. In this particular case, the police party did not inform them.
The investigators believe that after the successful escape of these terrorists, their network in the city will become complete and they might be able to intensify their attacks in future. They may also target the officers who had arrested them, the investigators added.
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU), led by SSP Raja Umer Khattab, had held Shakeeb, Murtaza, Murad Shah and Wazir Muhammad of the Jundullah group on January 24, 2010, for their alleged link to the Ashura blast. Many believed that they were not the real culprits behind the Ashura carnage. However, Saturday’s attack on the City Courts has almost confirmed the suspects’ link to militants.
The terrorists are also believed to be involved in three bank robberies in Taimuria, Mauripur and Malir in which some policemen were also killed. Investigators also claim that the fleeing militants were involved in bombings in Shadman and Anda Moore in New Karachi from where the police had recovered two prepared bombs.
The sources said that Wazir was a resident of Quaidabad and hailed from Hazara Division. The deceased suspect Murad Shah was a resident of Block-4, Gulshan-i-Iqbal and hailed from Panjgoor. Murtaza had been living in the Papoosh area and belonged to Punjab, while Shakeeb was residing in Shadman and is from Karachi.
The suspects were produced before ADJ-V South in a car-theft case. They were under investigation for a number of cases pending against them in the Mauripur, Orangi Town and Sir Syed police stations.
The attackers were four. Wearing shalwar kameez, the bearded assailants were in their middle age. They lobbed hand grenades, killing Constable Shahbaz Hussain, and fled along with the suspects.
However, they were engaged by Head Constable Mansha outside the main gate. Mansha also immediately called his superior ASI Sher Mohammad who eventually reached the spot. One of the attackers, Murad Shah, disguised himself as a labourer and took control of ASI Mohammed, threatening Mansha to drop his gun or else he would explode the hand grenade in his hand. However, both the policemen did not surrender, and in the meantime, Mansha opened fire and killed Murad Shah. Two other terrorists were also injured who later fled after snatching a motorcycle.
Provincial Police Officer Sindh Babar Khattak has promoted the two police officials for their act of bravery.

Why not in Pakistan ?
Because Pakistan is haven of terrorists ,The terrorists got respect and support in the media and from politicians ,They got support from Army ,They go support from police ,Anti state groups are openly working in Pakistan .
There are thousands of proofs against JI ,Jamat ud dawah ,Madaris ,SSP and other personalities in Pakistan in the involvement of terrorism.
Recently Lalmasjid Burqa Molvi was released who had been involve in kidnapping ,murdering ,keeping illegal weapons ,using Madersa for jihadis .
@Ahmed, your point is valid. Perhaps it is not just those inside the courts but also those who are more powerful than courts and the police who are responsible for the ‘unhindered’ activities of the mercenaries they created in the name of jihad-e-Afghanistan and jihad-e-Kashmir.
@Farhan, I agree. There are numerous proofs of the JI’s links with terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda, Taliban and also Siph-e-Sahaba. You are right when you state elsewhere that the root of terrorism is not in Tora Bora but in Lahore’s Mansoora.
Why not in Pakistan?

The ISI ultimately has our interests in its heart. The CIA, Hindu RAW and Zionist Mossad have run rampant across Pakistan committing these acts of terror and blaming Muslims. The Kuffar Americans and their CIA as rightly pointed out ultimately pull the strings. One we kick them out of Pakistan these attacks will stop and we can than focus on bringing the war to the Kuffar Americans and their Zionist Hindu Agents.

What happened to the Muslim Ummah? You are excluding Shias??
What about this?
For example Khomeini once made a statement which was published in the Tehran times (Kitaab be Noujawanaan – P8) that if he conquers Madina Munawwarah, he will remove the two idols (Hadhrat Abu Bakr and Hadhrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) besides Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him). I am certain that no believer will accept such a statement against the great luminaries of Islam. Brother Amin, are we then to condemn only Khomeini and condone Mawdudi knowing well that Mawdudi was a close friend of Khomeini and was sympathetic to his course. In a book titled, ‘Two brothers – Maududi and Khomeini’ page 129, the following statement of Dr Ahmad Farouk Maududi (son of Abul-A’ala Maududi) was published in Roz Naame, Lahore – 29 September 1979, “Allama Khomeini had a very old and close relationship with Abba Jaan (father). Aayaatullah Khomeini translated his (fathers) books in Farsi and included it as a subject in Qum. Allama Khomeini met my father in 1963 during Hajj and my father’s wish was to create a revolutionary in Pakistan similar to Iran. He was concerned about the success of the Iranian revolution till his last breath.’
Read A book mentioned below to know as to what kind of Filthy Language Mawlana Mawdudi and his brother Khomeini used against Prophets [PBUT] and against the Companions [May Allah be pleased with everyone of them] of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH]. The book has provided the original quotes from Mawdudi’s book with the editions and page number. Wrong again. Al-Qaeda [if there is one] is not Wahabi but has the ideology of Ikhwanul Muslimeen [Jamat-e-Islami in Pakistan]. Saudi Arabia had issued A Fatwa of Kufr against OBL and his followers in 1999.
This is how these murders must be dealt with. I personally think that all states must have a special law to convict terrorists which should enable them to execute these criminals as quickly as possible.

Any terrorist that kills innocent civilians and tries to disrupt the peaceful working of a state must meet this kind of fate.

MAM: OBL had issued a General Fatwa of Takfeer against Aal-e-Sadu and included Makkah Imam and other Scholars which resulted in Fatwa against him and his AL QAEDA [If it is real].
MAM: You are wrong in every sentence. Read the Saudi Fatwa again which is quoted in above links by me. OBL and Co’s Manhaj was attacked by the Fatwa which declared them “Kharijites” and do read {Saheeh Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim and other Hadith Books] on Kharijites to learn that the Saudi Fatwa was very related with Takfiri Beliefs of AL-QAEDA. Do you eve know the Khariji Beliefs.
Do some more reading on Aqaeda and Manhaj.
