It may appear ironic but it is a fact that the only (relatively) reliable agency that the people of Pakistan can trust in their war against terrorism is Police. Thousands of policemen in Swat, FATA, Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, D.I. Khan, Kohat, Quetta etc have sacrificed their lives to save Pakistanis of all ethnic and faith/sect  backgrounds from Takfiri Deobandi terrorists (ASWJ, LeJ, TTP, JeM etc). Police is the only agency that has killed and/or arrested hundreds of ASWJ, LeJ, TTP terrorists, the Jihadist assets of the ISI. Therefore, policemen are a prime target of the Taliban’s terrorist activities.

The Taliban of course will not attack their protectors and promoters in the ISI. Police are the relatively soft target.

Pakistanis must express their sympathy towards their brothers in Police, who are being treated as cannon fodder by the ISI and Taliban in Pakistan army’s ambivalent war on terror.
