An appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan
According to the constitution of Pakistan (Article 6):
6. (1) Any person who abrogates or attempts or conspires to abrogate, subverts or attempts or conspires to subverts the constitution by use of force or show of force or by other unconstitutional means shall be guilty of high treason.
(2) Any person aiding or abetting the acts mentioned in clause (1) shall likewise be guilty of high treason.
(3) Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) shall by law provide for the punishment of persons found guilty of high treason.
Honourable Chief Justice:
It is common knowledge that certain agents of anti-democracy establishment in Pakistan, namely Dr Shahid Masood, Shaheen Sehbai, Ansar Abbasi and their other accomplices (Saaleh Zafir, Muhammad Ahmed Noorani etc), as well as owners of Geo TV / Jang Group, are openly conspiring to derail democracy in Pakistan. On more than one occasions in their columns or TV appearances, these persons have openly invited or encouraged the Pakistan Army to take ultra-constitutional measures to either dissolve the parliament or to remove President Asif Ali Zardari from his position as the duly elected constitutional president of Pakistan.
While we understand that the professional leadership of Pakistan Army is committed to its oath and duties as per the constitution of Pakistan, the conspiracies, acts and speeches of these three persons (Shahid Masood, Ansar Abbasi and Shaheen Sehbai) and also of their other accomplices in Geo TV/ Jang Group (and certain other parts of the Pakistani media and politics), tantamount to abetting and aiding in conspiring to abrogate, subvert or attempt or conspire to subvert the constitution by use of force or show of force or by other unconstitutional means.
These three persons and their accomplices, therefore, my lord, are guilty of high treason according to the Article 6 of the constitution of Pakistan.
You are requested to initiate a suo moto acation against the culprits, and award them with an exemplary punishment consistent with the spirit of the constitution of Pakistan.

Mr Shaheen Sehbai in fervour of “Get Asif Ali Zardari” is ready to give importance to the negative statements of Musharraf against Zardari whereas Mr Shaheen Sehbai himself used to trash Musharraf in his web based magazine South Asia Tribune [Shaheen Sehbai Founded this magazine after he escaped from Pakistan in 2002 to seek political asylum in USA]. Let say and assume that Musharraf is right about Zardari [as per Shaheen Sehbai] but then question arises about Shaheen Sehbai's veracity about Musharraf???

Jang Group of Newspapers, GEO TV, Salim Safi, Shaheen Sehbai, Rauf Klasra and Ansar Abbasi should be ashamed of themselves before filing a Cock and Bull Table Story of Secret Cell and State Funded APP Journalists because it was the Jang Group of Newspapers which statrted giving undue attention to Brigadier (R) Imtiaz since July 2009.

Jang Group VS Dr. Shahid Masood & ARY ONE World.
One wonders that when Dr Shahid Masood knew everything bad about Asif Ali Zardari & Co then why did he join the PPP Cabinet, he also accepted the post of MD PTV and then again quit PTV and that too when his pay package was discussed [read the news below filed by the side kick of Ansar Abbasi i.e. Muhammad Ahmad Noorani in The News]in National Assembly and Senate he filed this story in The News International about Ansar Abbasi and rejoined GEO TV again.

It's really a request to the Chief Justice to take effective measures to stop these newspapers and channels from creating uncertain situations and working against the democractic government of Pakistan! They must be banned because of their wrong attitude towards carrying out their responsibilities in a good way.
CJP must take action not only against this but also against all the team of TJU who are showing wrong picture of PAKISTAN to the world…

KARACHI: A ban has been imposed on airing of Geo News’ program ‘Meray Mutabiq’ from Dubai. According to sources, the high government officials of Pakistan exerting pressure on the Dubai government had the airing of the program stopped. Geo’s administration has said that this step of the government is tantamount to targeting the freedom of expression. It may be mentioned here that the senior analyst Dr. Shahid Masood was the anchor of ‘Meray Mutabiq’.
Death threats to Dr Shahid Masood? The only death threat currently looming over his head is the Article 6 of the constitution of Pakistan. In my view he should lodge an FIR against the Article 6 for posing death threat not only to him but also his other cronies namely Ansar Abbasi and Shaheen Sehbai. Those who conspire to subvert the constitution of the country deserve utmost legal punishment as per the law of the land.

As a mark of protest against the move to ban Dr Shahid Masood's programme Meray Mutabiq, I withdraw my name from the list of journalists invited to accompany Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on his official visit to Germany and the UK from November 30 to December 4. It does not mean that I agree with Dr Masood's views, but it is the most undemocratic way and use of dictatorial tactics to silence someone's voice that has hurt me. I hope the prime minister will order an investigation into the matter and allow Dr Masood to express his views on air. I thank you, Mr Gilani, for inviting me, but after this action my conscience does not allow me to undertake that journey.
Dr Masood's language and views, at times, violate the generally accepted norms of journalism, but the answer is not to gag the press like General (r) Pervez Musharraf did. He too had approached the UAE government in November 2007 to dislodge Geo and ARY from Dubai.
Shahid Masood has always been an emotional person. I know him since he was in Sindh Medical College. He used to bring press releases of the Peoples Doctors Forum, PPP's medical wing, while I was working in an evening newspaper in Karachi. I met him first during a hunger strike by young medical doctors outside Karachi Press Club. He was a great admirer of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. Later, I came to know that he went to London and for sometime also worked at the Pakistan Peoples Party Secretariat. During his stay in London, he started writing for an Urdu evening newspaper in Karachi before joining ARY. I may be mistaken, but he too was a 'jiyala'.
When he joined the channel, the electronic media was in its infancy but his programme “Views on News” started getting a large viewership. The Iraq war gave him the real boost. Dr Masood's language skills and oratory made him the most popular anchor in the early years of the electronic media in Pakistan. At the same time many started believing that his views had tilted from left to centre, and afterwards from centre to right. During this period he hardly ever cared about the established journalistic norms, but within years he stole the show and became the head of that news channel.
Later, he joined Geo and did a successful stint there. Also Geo TV never 'owned' his programme, meaning that he was free to speak his mind and the channel saved itself from any possible legal battle. I never liked his joining the state-controlled media organisation and he suffered a credibility loss when he became its managing director – a post he should have never accepted. He remained close to President Asif Ali Zardari for sometime and would not have left the job had Sherry Rehman not been the information minister. Through Meray Mutabiq-II, he made a comeback and to his luck President Zardari's poor decision of not restoring the deposed judges gave a real boost to his programme's ratings.
The naive move of President Zardari's camp to use the influence of the UAE authorities will only help Dr Shahid Masood, and the government will be the ultimate loser. As far as life threats to Dr Shahid Masood are concerned I think he should return to Pakistan and resume his programme from here. There are journalists in Pakistan who have bravely faced life threats. My only question, however, is that why recently Dr Masood and Shaheen Sehbai went to meet Asif Zardari as reported by Hamid Mir. All I want to say to Dr Masood is that “Life and death are in the hands of God. Let's face it, Doctor sahib.”
