As per Pakistan’s co-ordinated “liberal” intelligentsia, an insidious plot is being used to Malign ASWJ-LeJ and the Baloch movement. This plot involves ISI and maybe even Iran.
Many Pakistani liberals are protesting that Saad Aziz Deobandi confession for the murder of activist Sabeen Mahmud hurts the Baloch nationalist cause. Incidentally, they are on the same page with those ASWJ-LeJ supporters of Baloch nationalists like Ahmad Ludhyanvi, Hamid Mir, Ramzan Mengal and Maulana Manzoor Mengal
Their reasoning, taken to its logical conclusion, goes something like this.
Just because Saad Aziz Deobandi was part of an extremist organisation like IQRA on the IBA campus, distributed and published Pro Taliban and Al Qaeda hate literature and translated and promoted the genocidal hate speech of ASWJ-LeJ founder Haq Nawaz Jhangvi does not make him prone to violence and murder.
Just because he physically tracked the movements of the late Sabeen Mahmud for weeks and attended her cafe and observed her schedule does not in any way, make him a suspect.
This is all a plot to malign the Baloch Nationalist struggle.
Pakistan’s “liberal” intelligentsia needs to update its understanding of the Baloch nationalist struggle from the 1960s and 1970s. How else can one forget the quotes of the “anti establishment” Baloch nationalist supportor Hamid Mir, when he chides the Pakistan army for failing to protect Osama Bin Laden in a discussion on the Baloch cause.
Refer to 6:48 time mark for exact quote on how Hamid Mir insidiously places Osama Bin Laden and the Baloch nationalists in the same category – as victims of the Pakistan army!
Or when ASWJ-LeJ Balochistan chief lead, Ramzan Mengal leads the funeral prayers for Baloch nationalist leader, Nawab Khair Baksh Marri. Or when Malik Rigi’s capture and execution for a suicide attack on an Iranian Shia mosque was protested by BLA. Or when the Pakistan Army recruits Baloch mercenaries, amongst others, to suppress pro-democracy movements in Bahrain.
When the ASWJ-LeJ activists and leaders like ASWJ-LeJ chiefs Ludhyanvi and Ramzan Mengal and their friend, Hamid Mir, are advocating for the Baloch cause, no one dare say that maybe, perhaps, the Baloch nationalist struggle is slowly being co-opted to justify extremist terror groups.
No one should dare to wander off the script that Sabeen was killed just for supporting the Baloch cause – and not for the scores of other causes that she also supported.
Either ways, the ISI/military establishment is still complicit in Sabeen murder because of their use of takfiri Deobandi terrorists for Strategic Death in Afghanistan and India as are all the supporters and facilitators of these terrorists in the PML N, PPP governments, judiciary and media.
However, when we go off the script and start exploring the other angles/actors involved in Sabeen’s cowardly murder, we run the risk of being called traitors. Ironically, it seems that for the “liberal” mafia in Pakistan, there is only one way. My way or the high way.
