Iftikhar Chaudhry the judge, you have behaved like Iftikhar Thakur the comedian
By Omar Khattab
Sitting in your chair, you have been claming that you have all authority to interpret the constitution of Pakistan. You have also said that the parliament cannot make certain types of legislation. You have violated the constitution of Pakistan because the constitution says that the parliament is supreme in the country, can do any legislation, and whosoever violates it will be guilty of high treason, a crime which is punishable by death. Of course you are backed by the almighty generals. You think you are absolutely powerful and this has gone into your head. You have become a pharaoh. You have totally been corrupted because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
From your bullying remarks which you emit while presiding over the court, it appears that you think that what you are doing is great fun. You constantly turn red in the face and then smile. You are a funny man. You should join the notoriously hilarious and gaudy Punjabi comedies where your look alike Iftikhar Thakur (he shares your name too, you see?) makes fun of people. Or you can ask him to sit beside you when you dispense your brand of justice. This will be a great comic relief coming from you after you have administered a lot of injustice and punishment to the people of Pakistan and protected the corrupt generals and criminal Islamofascists. Shame on you!
Cases to reopen only after Pak does it: Swiss govt

ISLAMABAD – The Swiss government has conveyed to Pakistan on Thursday that it may resume hearing of the cases against President Asif Zardari and his spouse Benazir Bhutto (late) only if the authorities reopen the same cases in local courts first.
According to official sources from Foreign Office told TheNation that the Swiss government has informed Pakistan’s High Commission in Geneva in written that the cases must be reopened in the local court first, then the Swiss court will resume hearing if requested to do so formally.
“Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after it was informed by its Geneva-based High Commission, has brought the Swiss government’s concern into the notice of incumbent government,” the sources said.
It is pertinent to note here that the apex court has ordered the government to reopen the cases after it declared NRO unconstitutional. Following the court’s historic decision on NRO, the cases against President Asif Ali Zardari are likely to surface once again. However, the amnesty had been protecting Zardari from six graft cases dating to the late 1990s. One alleges he misappropriated $1.5 billion.
The court singled out an alleged money laundering case involving President Asif Zardari and his late wife, that had been heard in a Swiss court until the Attorney General under Musharraf withdrew proceedings against them as a result of the NRO. Since the NRO has been abolished, the court directed the government to ask Swiss authorities to reopen the case.
