Excellent poll. Thanks, Saad and Laila for providing this opportunity to assess public opinion.
After Afghan war end this is part policy of America ,for all region unstable except INDIA, because India have no potential to genuine leader of region !
Why isn’t answer “D” all of the above?
Peter, I like your suggestion. Still, it will be interesting to see the results of the present survey (which we can’t modify at this stage).
Abdul,
It is my opinion that it is all three, since that is where years of research on the Pakistan destabilization keep pointing me. See my report: Committing Treason for a Piece of the Pie. http://therearenosunglasses.wordpress.com/2009/12/22/committing-treason-for-a-piece-of-the-pie/
Somethings should be obvious, if India is really sending militants from Afghanistan into Pakistan, then it obviously means Americans are looking the other way. The same holds true in Pakistan, if the Pak Army knows that US private security outfits are imitating the TTP and carrying-out their own operations, the Army is also looking the other way. There are revolutionary militants and terrorist militants; the first group would never bomb mosques. It seems unlikely that they would wage war against Shia or Berelvi mosques, but I may be mistaken. Even if Mehsud’s bunch were acting on behalf of the Pak govt, the Americans, or the Indians, there seems to be rogue elements within the TTP itself who stage attacks upon mosques seemingly for outside interests.
Peter, it is a possible option, but that never really occurred to me. Nor do I think I have had the experience of someone having that opinion. We just included the popular opinions prevailing in the country.
Peter, Thanks for the link. I am inclined to agree with your analysis; all ‘stakeholders’ have their hands dirty in this ‘great game’.
In addition to political objectives, I think the role of ideology cannot be ruled out in suicide bombings.
The fact that almost all suicide bombings in Pakistan are an act of extremist Deobandis suggests that the footsoldiers and their middle level managers are also fuelled by an exclusion and hatred based ideology.
Indeed, all the stakeholders are aware of the abundance and the explosive nature of this fuel, and are making good use of it for their respective political gains.
