Summer in Lahore – by Abdul Nishapuri
The mercury level is on the rise in Lahore (45-50 Celsius at the extreme); the ongoing loadshedding has further increased miseries of the heat-stricken Lahorites who spend up to eight hours a day without electricity.
To beat the sizzling heat, a large number of Lahorites, especially youth, are seen taking bath in the city canal (a beautiful feature of Lahore, which sadly also serves as a garbage dump).
