LHC dismisses petitions against Sharif Brothers
Source: Samaa TV, Updated on: 17 Jun 10 07:39 PM

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed two petitions seeking disqualification of the Sharif brothers, sources said Thursday.

The petitions were filed by Shahid Orakzai.

For Shahbaz Shahrif, applicant Shahid Orakzai has claimed that the CM Punjab has committed rigging in general elections on PP-Bukkur constituency, and also violated election laws by contesting for a new seat without resigning from the first.

The petitions against Shahbaz Sharif were rejected due to lawyer’s absence in the proceedings.

About Nawaz, Orakzai claimed that he was convicted in hijacking cases and some others. Therefore, he should be disqualified.

The LHC rejected the plea against Nawaz saying that it was ineffective as the polls in NA-52 and NA-127 have been held. SAMAA
