On one hand the opposition demands providing relief to the common man and as the government tries to do so, the Leader of the Opposition, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan roars why did you increase salaries to give relief! I am confused. In the report published in daily Jang, Chaudhry Nisar while starting the debate on Federal Budget 2010-11, questions why the government has raised the salaries of government employees without discussion with the provincial governments? He says “Yeh koi badshahat nahee kay baghair mushawrat Wazeer-e-Azam ailan karday”. Sir, aren’t you all for providing relief to the common man? You are now worried about the “izafi bojh” on provinces as your party ruled province of Punjab is under an overdraft situation of PKR 53 billion. Previously , we never heard you talking about such a thing. Also, where were you when the government increased salaries of armed forces by 100% last year?
He is also condemning the government for having the 5th Finance Minister in 2 years time. We may have had only one finance minister had the PML-N not quit the government. I think the points raised by Chaudhry Nisar in the parliament should not be answered by the government but be sent back as “returned to sender”. He is himself in a better position to answer his comments/queries.
