چیف جسٹس کی سربراہی میں عدالتی کمیشن کے قیام کا مطالبہ

پاکستان مسلم لیگ (ن) کے قائد میاں نواز شریف نے حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وہ پاکستان میں اسامہ بن لادن کی موجودگی اور ایبٹ آباد میں امریکی آپریشن کی تحقیقات کے لیے چیف جسٹس آف پاکستان کی سربراہی میں اعلٰی عدالتی کمیشن تشکیل دے۔

کلِک اسامہ بن لادن کی ہلاکت پر خصوصی ضمیمہ

اسلام آباد میں مسلم لیگ کی مرکزی آرگنائزنگ کمیٹی اور پارلیمانی کمیٹی کے مشترکہ اجلاس کے بعد ایک پریس کانفرنس میں میاں نواز شریف نے مطالبہ کیا کہ یہ کمیشن تین دن میں تشکیل دیا جائے جو اکیس دن کی مدت میں تحقیقات مکمل کر کے پارلیمان کو اپنی رپورٹ پیش کرے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ چیف جسٹس افتخار محمد چوہدری کی سربراہی میں بنائے جانے والے اس کمیشن میں چاروں صوبوں اور اسلام آباد ہائی کورٹ کے سربراہان بھی شامل ہونے چاہیئیں اور اسے کسی بھی سرکاری ملازم یا ایسے فرد کو طلب کرنے کا اختیار دیا جانا چاہیے جو تحقیقات میں مددگار ثابت ہو سکے۔

میاں نواز شریف نے کہا کہ ایبٹ آباد آپریشن متعلق اداروں کی بدترین غفلت اور کوتاہی ہے جسے کسی صورت نظرانداز نہیں کیا جا سکتا۔

ان کا کہنا تھا کہ وہ حکومت کی جانب سے ایڈجوٹنٹ جنرل کی سربراہی میں اس واقعے کی تحقیقات کرنے والی کمیٹی کو رد کرتے ہیں کیونکہ معاملے کی وسعت اور گہرائی کا احاطہ اس کمیٹی کے بس کی بات نہیں۔

نواز شریف نے کہا کہ انہوں نے ایک خط میں وزیراعظم پاکستان سے اعلیٰ عدالتی کمیشن کی تشکیل کا مطالبہ کیا ہے جس میں نہ صرف ان سے کہا گیا ہے کہ یہ کمیشن پاکستان میں القاعدہ کے سربراہ اسامہ بن لادن کی موجودگی اور دو مئی کو ایبٹ آباد میں امریکی آپریشن کے مکمل حقائق کا پتہ چلائے بلکہ اس معاملے سے نمٹنے میں سول اور عسکری حکام کی ناکامی کا بھی جائزہ لے۔

پاکستان مسلم لیگ (ن) کے قائد کے مطابق یہ کمیشن اس کی بھی تحقیقات کرے کہ آیا امریکہ کو پاکستانی سرزمین پر اس قسم کی کارروائیوں کی اجازت دینے کے بارے میں کوئی معاہدہ موجود ہے اور اگر ایسا ہے تو کیا ایسے معاہدے قانونی اور آئینی طور پر جائز ہیں۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ ’اس واقعے نے مسلح افواج کے مورال کو متاثر کیا ہے اور نہ صرف پوری دنیا میں ہماری رسوائی ہوئی ہے بلکہ پاکستان کو عالمی کٹہرے میں کھڑا کر دیا گیا ہے‘۔

نواز شریف کا کہنا تھا کہ ’یہ قوم کے لیے لمحۂ فکریہ ہے کہ جو ایجنسیاں سیاستدانوں کے تعاقب میں لگی رہتی ہیں اور سیاسی شطرنج کھیلنے میں مصروف ہیں وہ اپنی ناک کے نیچے نہیں دیکھ سکتیں‘۔

ان کا کہنا تھا کہ پاکستان کو اس صورتحال کے اسباب باہر سے نہیں بلکہ اندر سے تلاش کرنا ہوں گے اور ’اگر پاکستانیوں نےخود اپنے گریبان میں نہ جھانکا تو دوسروں کا ہاتھ ہمارے گریبان پر ہوگا‘۔

اس سوال پر کہ اگر حکومت ان کے مطالبے پر عمل نہیں کرتی تو ان کا ردعمل کیا ہوگا، میاں نواز شریف کا کہنا تھا کہ اگر حکومت کمیشن کے قیام سے گریز کرتی ہے تو اس مطلب یہ ہے کہ نہ اسے معاملے کی سنگینی اور نہ اٹھارہ کروڑ عوام کے جذبات کا احساس ہے۔

Mr. Sharif, who served twice as prime minister in the 1990s, was ousted from his second term by a military coup led by Gen. Pervez Musharraf in 1999. He has since been distrustful of the military, and his call Wednesday was interpreted as an attempt to strengthen the hand of civilian rule in the face of the powerful military.

The call for an independent commission came after Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani told Parliament earlier this week that a high-ranking army general would lead an in-house army inquiry. The prime minister did not say when the inquiry would be finished or whether it would ever be made public, and critics of the raid and the military’s performance have so far felt the government’s explanations inadequate.

Mr. Sharif said he rejected the idea of the military investigation, which is to be led by Gen. Javed Iqbal, a confidant of the head of the army, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, who is scheduled to address a closed joint session of Parliament on Friday.

That Bin Laden was hiding in Pakistan —either with or without the knowledge of the Pakistani intelligence agencies — caused slightly less alarm. Even so, Mr. Sharif said Pakistanis wanted to know how it was that Bin Laden had lived in the small garrison city of Abbottabad, near the nation’s premier military academy, for at least five years.

It was not immediately clear whether a judicial commission would actually be established. “The judiciary would probably be reluctant,” said Babar Sattar, a lawyer who writes about legal affairs and politics in the Pakistani news media.

Pakistan government skipping chance to weaken army

At this point, the government’s sole focus appears to be surviving for a full five-year term. That would be a historic achievement for a democratically elected government in the nation’s 63 years of existence, but one which apparently has left the current administration too nervous to challenge the generals.

The wariness showed in the changing messages that have emanated from Islamabad since the raid on bin Laden’s compound north of the capital. At first, the country’s civilian leaders declared bin Laden’s killing a great victory. But within days, the Foreign Ministry had issued a statement that slammed the U.S. for violating Pakistan’s sovereignty and warned against any future raids. The army issued a similar warning.

At the same time, the military appeared to launch a subtle campaign to shift the blame to the civilians.

Former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a People’s Party member who has tangled with the party leadership and is believed to be close to the military, publicly called on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to resign. That raised many eyebrows considering Gilani and Zardari have essentially no control over security issues, and have ceded to the army much of the country’s foreign policy as well.

On Monday, Gilani addressed Pakistan’s parliament in a speech that appeared heavily influenced by the military and the army-run spy network. Although he said bin Laden’s death was “indeed justice done,” he also heaped praise on his nation’s armed forces and its Inter-Services Intelligence agency. He said “all the intelligence agencies of the world” failed in allowing bin Laden to hide in a garrison town in Pakistan.

Instead of appointing an independent, or at least civilian-led, panel to probe the debacle, he said the military would handle the investigation.

That drew criticism from some Pakistanis, who noted that the military does not have much of a history of holding its leadership accountable for mistakes.

For instance, in 1999, then-army chief Pervez Musharraf masterminded an operation at Kargil, a Pakistani push into the Indian-held part of Kashmir. The offensive nearly brought the nuclear-armed neighbors to war, but Musharraf kept his job, and later that year ousted the civilian government.

“The history of heads rolling and the history of people being held to account is not a very bright one in Pakistan,” said Ayaz Amir, an opposition lawmaker.

Some were hoping Gilani would push for a rethink of Pakistan’s entire security policy, which many critics say is too focused on archrival India instead of the threat from Islamist insurgents threatening the Pakistani state. Pakistan’s army has fought three wars with India, including one in 1971 that saw Pakistan’s eastern flank break off and become Bangladesh.

“Gilani did not take this opportunity to launch a kind of transformation or sort of commission that this country desperately requires,” said Mosharraf Zaidi, a Pakistani columnist. “So I think Pakistanis, in general, continue to be confused and continue to want real answers instead of rhetoric.”

In many ways, the most frustrating thing for many Pakistanis is watching the one institution that seemed all-powerful in their downtrodden, struggling country, be so spectacularly hoodwinked by the United States. But it’s also tough to watch the men and women they elect flounder.

“The common man is really pissed off. They’ve lost faith,” said Khawaja Asif, an opposition lawmaker. “You can’t imagine how sad they are feeling.”

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – Pakistan’s opposition leader accused the powerful spy agency of negligence and incompetence on Wednesday as the country’s former president said rogue members of the security establishment may have helped Osama bin Laden hide for years near Islamabad.

Ratcheting up pressure on the country’s military as it fights off suspicion that it sheltered the al Qaeda leader, rival India named five Pakistani army officers in a list of 50 criminals it wants extradited to stand trial on terror charges.

Nawaz Sharif, who heads Pakistan’s largest opposition group, rejected a government decision to put an army general in charge of the inquiry into intelligence lapses that led to the killing of bin Laden in a helicopter raid by U.S. commandos on May 2.

Sparing the government and its leaders in his tirade over the surprise breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty by American forces, Sharif said is the “worst case of negligence and incompetence” by the country’s security agencies.

“It is matter of serious concern that our security institutions knew nothing when the helicopter gunships and commandos remained in our territory and airspace for so long,” he told a news conference, calling for a judicial commission to lead the investigation to dispel doubts about its objectivity.

Sharif also demanded how it was that the world’s most wanted man could be holed up in a compound less than a kilometer from the country’s main military academy, and bemoaned the damage that the incident had caused to Pakistan’s reputation abroad.

Nawaz Sharif has made a statesman like statement and one hopes he and his party will continue to take a position that is in the best interests of the country. This is a very serious milestone in Pakistan’s history and it does not allow for revenge politics. The political and military leadership should come on board with this suggestion and move forward towards doing everything to make Pakistan a strong country that is also respected by the rest of the world.

نواز شریف کے موقف پارٹی میں کتنا مقبول ہے یہ ابھی واضح نہیں ہے

دو مئی کا دن پاکستان مسلم لیگ نواز کے لیے بارہ اکتوبر سے اگر زیادہ تباہ کن نہیں تھا تب بھی ان تازہ واقعات کے اثرات پاکستان کی دوسری سب سے بڑی سیاسی جماعت کے مستقبل پر اہم نقوش چھوڑ گئے ہیں۔

بارہ اکتوبر انیس سو ننانوے کو فوجی بغاوت کے باعث نواز شریف اقتدار سے محروم کر کے جیل میں بند کر دیئے گئے تھے۔

دو مئی دو ہزار گیارہ کا آغاز امریکی صدر براک اوباما کے اس اعلان کے ساتھ ہوا کہ ایبٹ آباد میں ایک امریکی حملے میں القاعدہ سربراہ اسامہ بن لادن کو ہلاک کر دیا گیا ہے جبکہ اسلام آباد میں شام ڈھلے حزب اختلاف کی جماعت پاکستان مسلم لیگ ق کے ارکان نے وفاقی کابینہ کے ارکان کے طور پر حلف اٹھایا۔

ان دو واقعات نے مسلم لیگ نواز کو ایسے دوراہے پر لا کھڑا کیا ہے جہاں پر یہ جماعت راستے کے انتخاب میں نا صرف ہچکچاہٹ کا شکار ہے بلکہ پارٹی قیادت میں سمت کے تعین پر گہرے اختلافات اس معاملے کو زیادہ پیچیدہ بنا رہے ہیں۔

مسلم لیگ کے صدر شہباز شریف اپنے بڑے بھائی اور پارٹی راہبر میاں نواز شریف کو قائل کرنے میں ناکامی کے بعد پارٹی کے دیگر راہنماؤں سے انفرادی حیثیت میں رابطے کر کے انہیں یہ یقین دلانے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں کہ بری فوج کے سربراہ جنرل اشفاق پرویز کیانی ایبٹ آباد میں امریکی مداخلت سے آگاہ نہیں تھے لہذا انہیں اس معاملے پر ہدف تنقید بنانا درست نہیں۔

پارٹی قائد نواز شریف پیپلز پارٹی کے مسلم لیگ ق سے اتحاد اور سیاسی طور پر مسلم لیگ نواز کو تنہا کرنے کی بعض دیگر کوششوں کا ذمہ دار مسلح افواج کے انٹیلی جنس ادارے آئی ایس آئی اور کسی حد تک فوج کو سمجھتے ہیں اور اسی بنا پر ان اداروں کو کسی قسم کی غیر ضروری چھوٹ دینے کے حق میں نہیں ہیں۔

اس نکتے پر پارٹی کے کون سے اہم راہنما کس بھائی کے مؤقف کے حق میں ہیں اور کسے زیادہ حمایت حاصل ہے، یہ حقیقیت ابھی تک طے نہیں ہو سکی کیونکہ بیشتر مسلم لیگی راہنما ابھی تک اس بارے میں کھل کر اپنے دلی جذبات کا اظہار کرنے سے احتراز کر رہے ہیں۔

سوموار کی شام قومی اسمبلی میں قائد حزب اختلاف چوہدری نثار علی خان کی تقریر نے البتہ یہ ظاہر کر دیا ہے کہ جب تک پارٹی قیادت اس بارے میں کسی حتمی نتیجے پر نہیں پہنچتی، عبوری طور پر نواز شریف کے مؤقف کو مقدم رکھا جائے گا۔

اس دوران حتمی پارٹی پالیسی کی تیاری کے لیے پارٹی کے اندر محدود سطح پر مشاورتی عمل کا آغاز کیا جا چکا ہے۔

منگل کے روز اسلام آباد کے پنجاب ہاؤس میں مسلم لیگ نواز کی پارلیمانی پارٹی اور مرکزی مجلس عاملہ کے مشترکہ اجلاس کے بعد اہم راہنماؤں کا غیر رسمی اجلاس منعقد کیا گیا۔

بعد میں ہونے والے اجلاس میں اس متنازعہ معاملے کو زیربحث لایا گیا جبکہ پارٹی کے باقاعدہ فورمز کو اس بحث میں حصہ لینے کا شرف حاصل نہیں ہو سکا۔

شاید یہی وجہ تھی کہ منگل کے روز پارٹی کا اجلاس بے نتیجہ ختم ہو گیا۔

شہباز شریف فارمولا۔

مسلم لیگ کے صدر اور ملک کے سب سے بڑے صوبے پنجاب کے وزیراعلیٰ شہباز شریف کی بری فوج کے موجودہ سربراہ جنرل اشفاق پرویز کیانی سے روابط ڈھکے چھپے ہیں اور نہ دونوں جانب سے ایسا کرنے کی کوشش کی گئی ہے۔ گاہے بگاہے ہونے والی ان ملاقاتوں کے باعث شہباز شریف کے بارے میں سیاسی پنڈتوں میں یہ گمان پایا جاتا ہے کہ وہ اپنے بھائی کی نسبت ملٹری اسٹیبلشمنٹ کے لیے زیادہ قابل قبول ہیں۔ لیکن یہ معاملہ ابھی قبل از وقت دکھائی دیتا ہے۔ سر دست بات ہورہی کہ ہے ملک کو درپیش سنگین صورتحال پر شہباز شریف کے مؤقف کی جو خاصا دلچسپ ہے۔

شہباز شریف کا مؤقف عام فہم اور پاکستانی سیاسی حقائق پر مبنی ہے۔ وہ دو باتیں کہتے ہیں۔ ایک تو یہ کہ وہ حلفاً یہ بات کہنے کے لیے تیار ہیں کہ جنرل کیانی کو ایبٹ آباد میں امریکی دراندازی کا پیشگی علم نہیں تھا۔ اب جنرل کیانی سے ان کی مراد کیا ہے؟ یہ ابھی واضح نہیں ہے۔ کیا وہ پوری ملٹری اسٹیبلشمنٹ کو اس واقعے سے بری الذمہ قرار دے رہے ہیں؟ یہ کہنا مشکل ہے۔

دوسرا ان کا کہنا ہے کہ اس واقعے کے بعد ملٹری اسٹیبلشمنٹ اور حکومت کے درمیان پیدا ہونے والی مبینہ کشیدگی میں انہیں پیپلز پارٹی کی حکومت کا ساتھ دینے سے بچنا چاہئے۔

یعنی ایبٹ آباد آپریشن پر مسلم لیگ نواز کو اپنی توپوں کا رخ جی ایچ کیو کے بجائے ایوان صدر کی طرف رکھنا چاہئے۔

نواز شریف کی مستقل مزاجی۔

نواز شریف اس بارے میں جو مؤقف رکھتے ہیں اسے کم سے کم الفاظ میں ان کی مستقل مزاجی کا مظہر قرار دیا جا سکتا ہے۔ نواز شریف کے بارے میں ان کی پارٹی کے راہنما برملا کہتے ہیں کہ وہ بارہ اکتوبر کے بعد اپنے ساتھ پاکستانی فوجی افسران کے ہتک آمیز رویے کو بھلا نہیں پائے۔ شاید یہی وجہ ہے کہ اپنے چھوٹے بھائی شہباز شریف کی طرح وہ پاکستان کی فوجی قیادت کے ساتھ راہ و رسم بڑھانے سے کتراتے رہے۔ اسی لیے ان کے مؤقف میں لچک کی کمی دکھائی دیتی ہے۔

پہلی بات تو یہ کہ جائز یا نا جائز، وہ سیاسی حکومت کے مقابلے میں اب بھی فوجی سربراہ کی کھلی حمایت کرنے کے حق میں نہیں۔ دوسرے وہ یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ صدر آصف علی زرداری پچھلے ایک سال سے جو سیاسی چال بازیاں کر کے انہیں خاص طور پر صوبہ پنجاب میں کمزور کرنے کی کوششیں کر رہے ہیں، اس میں انہیں فوج یا کم از کم آئی ایس آئی کی مدد حاصل ہے۔

مثال کے طور پر وہ مسلم لیگ ق کی حکومت میں شمولیت کو پیش کرتے ہیں۔ نواز شریف کا خیال ہے کہ ق لیگ کی پیپلز پارٹی سے الحاق میں آئی ایس آئی نے فیصلہ کن کردار ادا کیا ہے۔

یہ بات تو خیر شہباز شریف اور ان کے مؤقف کے حامی بھی تسلیم کرتے ہیں کہ صوبہ پنجاب میں ان کی جماعت کو نقصان پہنچانے کے لیے تحریک انصاف کو منظم کرنے اور اس کے سربراہ عمران خان کو مقبول بنانے کی کوششیں کی جا رہی ہیں۔

پاکستان مسلم لیگ نواز اس مخمصے کی کیفیت سے کب تک نکل پائے گی اور کون سا راستہ منتخب کرے گی یہ تو جلد یا بدیر واضح ہو ہی جائے گا۔ لیکن مبصرین سمجھتے ہیں کہ مسلم لیگ نواز کو اگلے انتخابات سے قبل سیاسی مقبولیت کی بلندیوں تک پہنچے کے لیے اس دو راہے میں کسی کوئی تیسرا راستہ نکالنا ہو گا۔

Nawaz Sharief is a true patriot of Pakistan who feels the pain of poor Pakistanis. May ALLAH give him courage to stand for Pakistanis so that we are not humiliated anymore.

I may not like Nawaz Sharif ideologically but frankly here he has stolen the show. Yes PML N is conservative party but it is better that conservatives vote for PML N rather than for third class parties like PTI and jamat Islami.

Army, agencies’ budgets be presented in assembly : Nawaz

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif has demanded that army and intelligence agencies’ budget should be presented in the assembly, Geo News reported on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference following meeting with US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter here, Nawaz stated that foreign policy making is not the business of agencies, adding that agencies must not make alliance and divide political parties. PML-N will not allow government within government.

He also demanded that an independent commission should be constituted at the earliest and those responsible for Abbottabad incident be unmasked.

PML-N leader said Pakistan has rendered great sacrifices in the war on terror. Around 35 thousand Pakistani citizens and security personnel have lost their lives in this war.

Nawaz regretted that despite all such sacrifices Pakistan is being held in the dock. The US raid in Abbottabad was against the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan.

He came hard saying that Pakistan could not maintain unilateral relations. The government also stop obeying the US and other institutions, he said and added that it come forward to serve the nation.

Nawaz Sharif is on the right track. We must leave our political differences aside and support him on this important issue. ZAB missed a golden opportunity in 1971 to cut army’s role in making foreign policy and its involvement in politics. Lets not miss the opportunity this time. God bless Pakistan.

u will be wondering reading a dissenting note on this topic, because I never supported agencies’ wheeling and dealing for or or against any particular political party. But this time I will differ with Nawaz Sharif’s stand of pushing the Military or the ISI to the wall. We should accept the apology rendered by ISI Chief in a gentle manner. He has admitted his failure in getting beforehand knowledge of the infamous “Abbottabad operation”. We should pardon him and the agency.
Now coming to what Nawaz Sharif is asking. We should not forget his past. He has always risen to the top on these very agencies’ shoulders. He and his supporters must not forget that it was ISI which formed IJI in 1988 and distributed piles of tax payers’ money just to stop the PPP to form a strong Government. The again stole election in 1990 by repeating the 1988 episode of distributing money to politicians. The biggest beneficiary of this loot was no other than Nawaz Sharif himself.
Nawaz Sharif has benefitted with Dollars and Rupees whenever there was a juma bazar of money grabbers. He again tried to make IJI in 2007 (in the name of APDM)even after signing COD with Shaheed BB under under the advice of the same notorious ISI general Hamid Gul. His recent awakening is nothing to celebrate. He has tried a no. of times to dislodge the present Govt. through meetings of Shahbaz Sharif and Ch. Nisar with the Army Chief. But i sincerely think that the Army is serious in helping this democracy to continue and so NS is disappointed with the situation and so the outburst.

How Nawaz forced govt to accept a unanimous resolution

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was sitting hundreds of miles away from parliament on Friday but he forced the government to commit to an independent commission to probe the May 2 operation in Abbottabad after a debate of more than 10 hours.

The PML-N leader spoke to his party leaders Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Ishaq Dar about a dozen times on the phone from his Raiwind residence during the parliamentary session.

The government was reluctant to accept an independent commission because the Pakistan Army had announced to start a probe in this regard but Nawaz Sharif had already rejected the Army probe on Wednesday.

Nawaz also forced the government to include some other very important points — the most important about the drone attacks.

He asked his party to say yes to the resolution only if the government also commits to cut off Nato supply lines in case of another drone attack. He even dictated commas and full stops in the resolution, which was ultimately adopted in the joint sitting of the two houses in the early hours of Saturday.

This resolution not only condemned the unilateral action of US on May 2 but also called upon the government to revisit and review its terms of engagements with the US.

A top European diplomat in Islamabad commented that this resolution had created the worst ever problem between Pakistan and the US in the last 64 years.

The unexpected unanimous resolution adopted by the joint session has created panic in the diplomatic circles of Islamabad. All the important world capitals have asked their diplomats in Islamabad to send immediate assessment reports about the worst stand-off between the US and Pakistan.

Many diplomats were interested to know what would happen in case of another US drone attack in Pakistan. Will the Pakistani government immediately cut off the Nato supply line?

Most of the diplomats were sure that this time Pakistani high-ups were serious in cutting Nato supply lines because the government and armed forces need to restore their credibility in the eyes of Pakistanis.

It is learnt that many Western diplomats have reported to their capitals that the Pakistani parliament has finally given full support to their armed forces after a very long debate and the ISI is no more isolated.

The ISI chief faced some very tough questions in the first three hours of the session but later on senior PML-N leaders Javed Hashmi, Saad Rafique and Ishaq Dar made it clear in their speeches that they were asking questions with good intention not with any malice.

Javed Hashmi said parliament is like your mother, we have the right to ask questions from you but we will not allow any outsider to malign you. It was the first time in the last 64 years that the ISI chief presented himself before the parliament for accountability.

PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif made some hard-hitting remarks against the role of the intelligence agencies in politics on Saturday afternoon but he said clearly that he is not against the Army. He is against interference of the Army in politics.

PPP minister Firdous Ashiq Awan tried to exploit the remarks of Nawaz Sharif but she failed. Many members of parliament noticed that the PPP was trying to create tension between the Army leadership and PML-N during the session.

Despite all this, a majority of the members were happy that they had reached a consensus. Unanimity between the PPP and PML-N on the resolution was a surprise for many diplomats who were expecting a big fight between the two parties during the session.

Now the big question is when the government will start consultations with the PML-N for the creation of an independent commission. Sources close to the prime minister quoted him as saying: “We cannot back off, we have promised to the whole nation and we will start the process very soon.”

A diplomat met a federal minister at his official residence here in Islamabad quietly on Saturday and asked as to how serious the government is to withdraw the transit facility allowed to Nato/Isaf forces. The minister replied that all the parties are heading for a new election very soon, so we cannot afford to play old political gimmicks with our voters; if we will not take action against Nato and the US, our voters will take action against us by voting for religious parties.

“Please ask the US to stop drone attacks otherwise we will be destroyed here and you will be destroyed in Afghanistan,” the minister told the diplomat.

Independent commission should fix responsibility of the Abbottabad debacle, Nawaz Sharif

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that the Abbottabad debacle should help curtail the role of security and intelligence agencies in the running of the country and demanded that their budgets should be presented to a parliamentary panel.

The ultimate goal behind the establishment of an independent commission to probe into the May 2 covert raid by US special forces is to ensure that no parallel government is being run in the country, the PML-N chief told a news conference at his Raiwind residence on Saturday. Demanding the resignation of any individual is not the ultimate aim of this commission, he added. Sharif said the basic aim of the commission is to fix responsibility of the Abbottabad debacle and consequently circumscribe the role of the army, the elected government and the intelligence agencies in the running of the country under the law.

Security and intelligence agencies should not topple governments, fund or promote one political party over another, formulate foreign policy in place of elected governments, divide political parties, create an allied opposition against governments and torture journalists, he said.

Security agencies have run the affairs of the state as a ‘parallel government’ and often subverted the consultative process of elected governments, Sharif bemoaned.

He said it is the function of elected governments to formulate foreign policy, vis-à-vis India, Afghanistan and the US but, unfortunately, security agencies have been subverting elected governments’ plans for the last five decades.

Sharif said he had invited then Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Lahore in 1999, who announced during his visit that the Kashmir dispute would be resolved within a year. Security agencies, however, undermined and then ultimately derailed the peace process by launching the Kargil war, he added.

If elected representatives can pass a unanimous resolution like the one on the Abbottabad fiasco, then they can also resolve the Kashmir dispute, he said, adding that his party wants to change the popular mindset that political forces are incompetent while the army and the intelligence agencies are the only ones capable of resolving the country’s problems.

Sharif added that intelligence agencies need to stop interfering in the electoral process if forces of extremism and terrorism are to be tackled. Change should be brought through the ballot box, not the intelligence agencies, he said.

Sharif also demanded that security and intelligence agencies disclose details of their budgets and expenditure to a parliamentary committee since they consume taxpayer’s money.

He chided the PPP leadership for pouring cold water over this condition that was part of the Charter of Democracy he had signed with late Benazir Bhutto in 2006.

On the formation of the independent commission, Sharif said his party had initially demanded a judicial
commission but then changed its stance.

Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani would nominate names of members of the independent commission, he added.

Sharif claimed the government’s initial draft resolution was weak and silent on the issue of accountability and drone attacks, adding that his party worked to add the clauses on independent commission and review of the terms of engagement with US in the face of continued drone strikes.

Meeting with Munter
Sharif said he conveyed the concerns of Pakistanis in his meeting with US Ambassador Cameron Munter. Despite paying a heavy price in the war on terror, including loss of 35,000 civilians and security personnel, the world still doubts Pakistan’s intentions, he said, adding that he conveyed his party’s concerns over unemployment and poverty in the country to the US ambassador.

Relations between US and Pakistan will not be a one-way street from now on, he said.

Meanwhile, sources in the PML-N told The Express Tribune that Sharif, along with senior party members including Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Khawaja Asif met with Munter and assured him that PML-N enjoys sufficient popularity in the country to help change the popular perception of US in the country.
Sharif told Munter that US should rely on political forces in the country instead of the military establishment, sources said.

Need for checks, not a free hand

LAHORE – Former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has always been in favour of an all-powerful parliament and a civil government. On Saturday, he addressed a news conference and highlighted the role he had played in the preparation of a ‘potent’ resolution which was passed by a joint session of the parliament. On the same occasion, he demanded that the defence budget as well as the budget for the intelligence agencies should be debated and approved by parliament.

Then he criticised the role the intelligence agencies have been playing in bringing about change of governments and running foreign policy of the country.

The PML-N chief, out of power for the past 12 years, devoted a good deal of time on explaining that it’s the elected government’s prerogative to decide what kind of ties Pakistan should have with countries like India, Afghanistan and the United States. In a democratic setup where the integrity of political leadership is above board, the powers Mr Sharif wants the government to be equipped with cannot be disputed. But whether the recipe should be tried immediately (when the reputation of the rulers is too well known) or it should be deferred for some better times, is a question that needs a serious consideration.

Also, it should be examined very carefully as to what could be the likely consequences of giving all powers to the political government, depriving the Army and the intelligence agencies of the ‘undesirable’ role they are playing at present.

Nobody would dispute it that power should be given only to those who can use it judiciously and honestly to benefit the country, not personal gains. And in case it is established that somebody is using his powers more to serve his own interests or that of his cronies, then there will be little justification for the PML-N chief to press his point.

Not long ago, President Zardari, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, had said that India poses no threat to Pakistan. He further stated that in every Pakistani there’s a small Indian, and vice versa.

شر میں سے خیر اُبھر کر سامنے آیا ہے۔ تخریب کے غبار میں تعمیر کے کچھ آثار نظر آتے ہیں۔ یہ غلامی کی زنجیریں توڑنے کا بہترین موقع ہے۔ پارلیمنٹ کے مشترکہ اجلاس میں منظور ہونے والی قرار داد پر عمل کرلیا جائے تو پاکستانیوں کا پاکستان پراعتماد بحال ہوسکتا ہے۔ لیکن خدانخواستہ پارلیمنٹ نے اپنی اس قرار داد پر عمل نہ کرایا تو پھر پاکستان کے اندر جمہوریت تماشہ بن کر رہ جائے گی اور پاکستان سے باہر پاکستان ایک تماشہ بنے گا۔
13 مئی کی دوپہر پارلیمنٹ کے دونوں ایوانوں کا مشترکہ اجلاس شروع ہوا تو عام رائے یہی تھی کہ اس اجلاس میں مسلم لیگ (ن) اور پیپلزپارٹی کے درمیان گالم گلوچ ہوگی اور عسکری قیادت مسکراتی ہوئی واپس جی ایچ کیو چلی جائے گی لیکن ایسا نہیں ہوا۔ اجلاس 14 مئی کی صبح تک جاری رہا اور اس اجلاس نے ایک 12 نکاتی متفقہ قرار داد منظور کرکے نہ صرف پاکستانیوں کو بلکہ پاکستان کے دشمنوں کو بھی حیران کردیا۔ قرار داد میں سب سے پہلے 2 مئی کو ایبٹ آباد میں امریکی آپریشن کی مذمت کی گئی اور اسے پاکستان کی خودمختاری کے خلاف قرار دیا گیا۔ قرار داد کا وہ حصہ بہت اہم ہے جس میں امریکی ڈرون حملوں کو اقوام متحدہ کے چارٹر اور بین الاقوامی قانون کی خلاف ورزی قرار دیتے ہوئے حکومت سے کہا گیا ہے کہ اگر ڈرون حملے بند نہیں ہوتے تو نیٹو کی سپلائی بند کرنے پر غور کیا جائے۔ قرار داد کے تیسرے نکتے میں یہاں تک کہا گیا ہے کہ اگر آئندہ پاکستان کے خلاف جارحیت کی گئی تو نہ صر ف خطے کا بلکہ دنیا کا امن خطرے میں پِڑسکتا ہے۔ قرار داد میں امریکا کے ساتھ تعلقات پر نظر ثانی کے لئے بھی کہا گیا اور آخر میں حکومت سے کہا گیا کہ ایبٹ آباد واقعے کی تحقیقات کے لئے ایک آزاد کمیشن بنایا جائے۔ یہ کمیشن ہماری ان نااہلیوں اور خامیوں کی نشاندہی کرے گا جن کا فائدہ اُٹھا کر امریکی ہیلی کاپٹر پاکستان میں داخل ہوئے اور اُسامہ بن لادن کے خلاف 40 منٹ کا آپریشن کرکے چلتے بنے۔آزاد کمیشن کے ذکر کے بغیر اس قرارداد کی کوئی اہمیت نہ ہوتی۔ قبل ازیں افواج پاکستان کی طرف سے ایک تحقیقاتی کمیٹی قائم کی جاچکی ہے یہ کمیٹی محکمانہ انکوائری کریگی لیکن ایک آزادانہ کمیشن کی تحقیقات کو صرف قومی نہیں بین الاقوامی اہمیت حاصل ہوگی۔ امریکی میڈیا پارلیمنٹ کی اس قرار داد سے سخت ناراض ہے۔ کئی امریکی ٹی وی چینل مجھ سے یہ سوال پوچھ چکے ہیں کہ آپ کی پارلیمنٹ نے ڈرون حملے نہ روکنے کی صورت میں نیٹو سپلائی لائن کاٹنے کی دھمکی دے کر صرف امریکا کو نہیں بلکہ پورے یورپ کو ناراض کرکے اپنی تباہی کو دعوت نہیں دی؟ میرا جواب تھا کہ پاکستان کی لڑائی نہ کینیڈا سے ہے‘ نہ برطانیہ سے ہے‘ نہ فرانس سے اور نہ جرمنی سمیت پورے یورپ سے کوئی لڑائی ہے ہم نے برطانیہ سے 1947ء میں آزادی حاصل کرلی تھی اب ہمیں امریکا سے آزادی چاہیئے کیوں کہ امریکا کی غلامی نے ہمیں ذلت و رسوائی کے سوا کچھ نہیں دیا۔ ایک مشہور امریکی اینکر پرسن نے پوچھا کہ ذلت و رسوائی کا کیا مطلب؟۔
میں نے کہا کہ تمہارا ریمنڈ ڈیوس ہمارے بے گناہ شہریوں کو قتل کردے تو تم اُسے چُھڑاکرلے جاتے ہو اور اگر تم ڈرون حملوں میں ہماری بے گناہ عورتوں اور بچوں کو مارتے رہو تو تم سے کسی کو سوال پوچھنے کا بھی حق نہیں؟ یہ غلامی نہیں تو اور کیا ہے؟ اُس نے جواب میں کہا کہ دنیا کا مطلوب ترین شخص پاکستان سے پکڑا گیا کیا تمہیں اُسامہ بن لادن کے پاکستان سے پکڑے جانے پر ذلت و رسوائی محسوس نہ ہوئی؟ میں نے کہا کہ جب اُسامہ بن لادن 1979ء میں پہلی دفعہ پاکستان آیا تو جنرل ضیاء الحق کی حکومت تھی۔ جنرل ضیاء اور تم نے اُسامہ کو خوش آمدید کہا۔ پانچ سال پہلے جب اُسامہ بن لادن دوبارہ پاکستان میں آکر چھپا تو جنرل پرویز مشرف کی حکومت تھی جو تمہاری آنکھ کاتارا تھا تم نے اور تمہارے ممدوح فوجی ڈکٹیٹروں نے پاکستان کو تباہی کے راستے پر دھکیلا ہے اور آج اگر پارلیمنٹ اس تباہی کے راستے سے ہٹنے کے لئے کوئی متبادل تلاش کررہی ہے تو پریشان کیوں ہو؟ امریکی صحافی کے پاس کوئی جواب نہ تھا اُس نے تھینک یو کہے بغیر لائن کاٹ دی۔
پارلیمنٹ کی قرار داد پوری پاکستانی قوم کی بے چینی اور اضطراب کا آئینہ ہے۔اس قرار داد کو جذباتیت پر مبنی قرار دینا پوری قوم کی توہین ہے۔ کچھ لوگ ہمیں امریکا کی اقتصادی پابندیوں سے ڈرا رہے ہیں۔ کیا ہم نے 1989ء میں اور 1998ء میں امریکا کی پابندیوں کا مقابلہ نہیں کیا؟ مجھے کچھ صحافی ساتھیوں نے کہا کہ ماضی میں آئی ایس آئی نے نہ صرف سیاست میں کھلم کھلا مداخلت کی بلکہ صحافیوں کے ساتھ بھی بہت ظلم کئے‘صحافیوں کو اغواء کرنے اور تشدد کا نشانہ بنانے کے علاوہ اُن کو بلیک میل کرنے کے لئے جھوٹے الزامات کا نشانہ بنایا جاتا رہالہٰذا یہ بہترین موقع ہے کہ آئی ایس آئی کی خامیوں کو مکمل طور پر بے نقاب کردیا جائے۔ میرا موٴقف یہ تھا کہ ہم نے اپنے سینئرساتھیوں کے ہمراہ ہمیشہ سیاست میں فوج اور آئی ایس آئی کی مداخلت پرتنقید کی ہے اور ہم نے ایک بہت بڑی لڑائی اُس وقت لڑی تھی جب آئی ایس آئی اور فوج کو امریکہ کی حمایت بھی حاصل تھی‘ اُس وقت سیاست و صحافت میں امریکی مفادات کے ترجمان ہمیں ”ٹی وی ٹیررسٹ“ قرار دیتے تھے‘ آج یہی ترجمان صاحبان آئی ایس آئی کو ”ٹیررسٹ“ قرار دینے پر تُلے بیٹھے ہیں کیوں کہ امریکا آئی ایس آئی کے خلاف ہوچکا ہے لہٰذا یہ وقت انتقام لینے کا نہیں۔ اس وقت آئی ایس آئی چاروں طرف سے حملوں کی زد میں ہے اور اس صورت حال میں آئی ایس آئی پر حملہ کرنا بہادری نہیں ہے لیکن اس کا یہ مطلب قطعاً نہیں کہ 2 مئی کے واقعات میں نااہلی کے ذمہ داروں کا تعین نہ کیا جائے۔ حکومت کو ایک آزاد کمیشن کے ذریعے‘ نااہل افرد کی جلد از جلد نشاندہی کرکے اُن کے خلاف کارروائی کرنا ہوگی۔ پارلیمنٹ کے مشترکہ اجلاس میں شریک حکومت اور اپوزیشن کے کئی ارکان نے مجھے کہا کہ 10 گھنٹے سے زیادہ دیر تک جاری رہنے والے اس اجلاس میں سب سے زیادہ خوبصورت تقریر جاوید ہاشمی کی تھی۔ جاوید ہاشمی نے عسکری قیادت سے کہا کہ تم لوگوں نے مجھے بہت مارا ہے‘ مجھے غداری کے مقدموں میں پھنسایا لیکن آج میں کوئی بدلہ نہیں لوں گا‘ پارلیمنٹ تمہاری ماں ہے‘ اس ماں کو تم سے ہر سوال پوچھنے کا حق ہے لیکن یہ ماں کسی غیر کو یہ حق نہیں دے گی کہ وہ تمہاری طرف انگلی اٹھائے۔ یہی وہ اسپرٹ ہے جس کے تحت پارلیمنٹ کا اجلاس ختم ہونے کے بعد آئی ایس آئی کے سربراہ لیفٹیننٹ جنرل احمد شجاع پاشا نے واپس جاتے ہوئے اپوزیشن لیڈر چوہدری نثار علی خان کے ساتھ ہنستے مسکراتے ہوئے معانقہ کیا۔ میں یہ بات ریکارڈ پر لانا چاہتاہوں کہ نثار صاحب کی خفیہ اداروں پر تنقید کی وجہ یہ قطعاً نہیں کہ کسی نے اُن کا کوئی ذاتی کام نہیں کیا۔ اجلاس میں یہ بات نہیں ہوئی۔ اُن کی تنقید کی وجہ صرف یہ ہے کہ ڈیڑھ سال قبل کچھ لوگوں نے اُن سے رابطہ کیا اور کہا کہ مسلم لیگ (ق) اور ایم کیو ایم کے ساتھ مل کر پیپلزپارٹی کی حکومت ختم کردیں۔ نثار صاحب کو وزارت عظمیٰ پیش کی جارہی تھی لیکن اُنہوں نے اپنے لیڈر نواز شریف کے ساتھ مشورے کے بعد اس پیش کش کو ٹھکرادیا۔ جس کے بعد پیش کش کرنے والے واپس پیپلزپارٹی کے قدموں میں جاگرے۔ نثار صاحب کو اُن کے ساتھیوں نے اس معاملے کی تفصیلات سامنے لانے سے روک رکھا ہے کیوں کہ اس وقت سی آئی اے اور آئی ایس آئی حالت جنگ میں ہیں۔ بہت مشکل سے عسکری قیادت اور پارلیمنٹ میں کئی غلط فہمیاں دور ہوئی ہیں۔ ڈس انفارمیشن کے ذریعہ ان غلط فہمیوں کو بڑھاوا نہ دیا جائے کیوں کہ اس کا فائدہ سی آئی اے کو ہوگا۔ یہ وقت قوم کو متحد رکھنے کا ہے۔ پارلیمنٹ کی قرار داد قوم کے اتحاد کی ترجمان ہے قرار داد پرعمل کرکے قوم کو اس کا کھویا ہوا وقار لوٹا دو۔

۔ توقع تو یہ تھی کہ ایبٹ آباد واقعہ کے بعد صدر آصف علی زرداری اور وزیراعظم یوسف رضا گیلانی قوم کے احساسات کی ترجمانی کرتے ہوئے سخت ترین الفاظ میں امریکا سے احتجاج کرینگے مگر ان دونوں نے امریکا کو مبارکباد دے ڈالی ۔ اس کو بڑی کامیابی اور قابل تحسین واقعہ قرار دیا۔ صدمہ میں گھری ہوئی قوم اپنے صدر اور وزیراعظم کے ردّعمل پر شرم سے پانی پانی ہو گئی۔ ان دونوں حضرات تک ہوتا تو پورا پاکستان اس ”عظیم کامیابی“ پر امریکا کے گن گاتا مگر اللہ کا شکر ہے کہ پاکستانی میڈیا نے عوامی جذبات کی ترجمانی کرتے ہوئے اُس قومی عزّت و وقار، خودمختاری اور سالمیت کی بات کی جس کی امریکا نے 2 مئی کو دھجیاں اڑا دیں۔ یہ پاکستان کے میڈیا کا کمال تھا کہ حکومت پاکستان کو عوامی توقعات کے مطابق اپنا ردّعمل بدلنا پڑا اور پاکستان کی عسکری قیادت کو پارلیمنٹ کے سامنے اپنی جوابدہی کرنی پڑی۔ سیاسی جماعتوں میں بلاشبہ پاکستان مسلم لیگ نے اس مسئلہ پر ایک واضح مؤقف اپنایا اور ایک ایسے کمیشن کے قیام کی بات کی جس کا مطالبہ آزاد میڈیا نے پہلے دن سے کرنا شروع کیا اور جس کا مقصد اس واقعہ کی ایماندارانہ انداز سے تحقیقات کرنا ہے تاکہ نہ صرف ذمہ داروں کا تعیّن کیا جا سکے بلکہ دفاعی اور انٹیلی جنس نظام میں ان خرابیوں اور خامیوں کی بھی نشاندہی کرنا ہے جس کی وجہ سے پاکستان کو ایبٹ آباد واقعہ کی وجہ سے پوری دنیا میں ہزیمت اٹھانا پڑی۔ گزشتہ جمعہ کے روز پاکستان کی پارلیمنٹ نے یک آواز ہو کر امریکا کے دو مئی کے اقدام کی پرزور مذمّت کرتے ہوئے پاک امریکا تعلقات کا ازسرنو جائزہ لینے کا مطالبہ کیا۔ متفقہ طور پر منظور کی گئی قرارداد میں پارلیمنٹ نے حق نمائندگی ادا کرتے ہوئے ڈرون حملوں کو فوری طور پر روکنے کی بات کی اور اس بات پر زور دیا کہ اگر ڈرون حملے نہیں رکتے اور اگر امریکا کی طرف سے دو مئی طرز کے واقعات کو دہرایا جاتا ہے تو پاکستان فوری طور پر افغانستان میں نیٹو فورسز کی سپلائی لائن بند کر دے۔ اس قرارداد میں ایبٹ آباد واقعہ کی تحقیقات کے لیے ایک اعلیٰ سطحی کمیشن بنانے کا بھی مطالبہ کیا گیا۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق اس قرارداد کو اس موجودہ شکل میں پاس کرانے میں قائد حزب اختلاف چوہدری نثار علی خان نے اہم کردار ادا کیا۔ وگرنہ حکومت ایک گول مول سی قرارداد لا کر پارلیمنٹ سے پاس کرانا چاہتی تھی تاکہ سب کی نوکریاں محفوظ رہیں اور امریکا بہادر بھی خوش رہے۔ پارلیمنٹ نے تو اکتوبر 2008ء میں بھی ایک متفقہ قرارداد کے ذریعے امریکی ڈرون اور امریکا نواز پالیسیوں کو ختم کرنے کی بات کی تھی مگر جمہوریت اور پارلیمنٹ کی بالادستی کی بات کرنے والے حکمران اس قرارداد پر عمل درآمد میں سب سے بڑی رکاوٹ بنے رہے۔ مجھے ان حکمرانوں سے کچھ زیادہ امید نہیں مگر ایبٹ آباد واقعہ کے بعد بھی اگر ہم نے اپنے آپ کو نہ بدلا تو پھر ہمارے مستقبل کو تاریکی سے کوئی نہیں بچا سکتا۔ اگر ہم دو مئی کی ہزیمت سے سبق سیکھنے کا تہیہ کر لیں تو پھر ہمارا مستقبل محفوظ ہو سکتا ہے۔ مگر امریکا کی غلامی کے بھنور سے نکلنے کے لیے ہمیں بہت کچھ کرنا پڑے گا۔ ایک بات یاد رکھیں کہ امریکا ہماری خودمختاری کا مذاق اڑاتا رہے گا۔ ایسا کچھ نہیں ہو گا کہ امریکا اب ہماری پارلیمنٹ کی قرارداد کے بعد عالمی قوانین کے مطابق ہماری آزادی و خودمختاری کی عزّت کرے گا۔ امریکا سے کوئی جنگ نہیں چاہتا مگر جب پاکستان کی خودمختاری کی خلاف ورزی کرنے والے امریکی ڈرون کو مار گرایا جائے گا، نیٹو کی سپلائی لائن بند کی جائے گی، ایبٹ آباد جیسے امریکی آپریشن کا منہ توڑ جواب دیا جائے گا یا نام نہاد دہشتگردی کے خلاف جنگ کے متعلق پاکستان موجودہ پالیسی کو عوامی امنگوں کے مطابق بدلتا ہے تو پھر یقیناً امریکا بہادر طیش میں آئے گا۔ نہ صرف ہماری مالی اور دفاعی امداد بند ہو گی بلکہ ہمیں دنیا میں تنہا کرنے کی بھی کوشش کی جائے گی۔ یہ بھی ممکن ہے کہ امریکا سیکورٹی کونسل میں پاکستان کے خلاف کوئی قرارداد پاس کروا دے۔ اگر ہمیں زندہ قوم بن کر دنیا کے نقشے پر اُبھرنا ہے تو پھر ان ممکنہ مشکلات اور چیلنجز کا مقابلہ کرنے کے لیے جنگی بنیادوں پر حکمت عملی بنانی ہو گی اور ہر قسم کی صورتحال کے لیے تیاری کرنی ہو گی۔ ایک بات طے ہے کہ ہماری زندگی اور روشن مستقبل کا تعلق خودانحصاری پر ہے اور آج ہمارے پاس سنہری موقع ہے کہ ہم خودانحصاری کے راستہ پر چلنے کا فیصلہ کریں اور امریکا کی غلامی سے اپنے آپ کو جلد از جلد آزاد کروائیں۔ حکومت کو چاہئے کہ فوری طور پر دفاعی، معاشی اور خارجہ امور کے ماہرین پر مشتمل مختلف تھنک ٹینک بنائے تاکہ امریکا کی جانب سے ہرممکنہ حملہ کے خلاف حکمت عملی تیار کی جائے۔ ایک طرف ہمیں چین جیسے دیرینہ دوست کے ساتھ اپنے تعلقات کو مزید وسعت دینے کی ضرورت ہے تو دوسری طرف ہمارے لیے یہ انتہائی اہم ہے کہ ہم مسلمان ممالک کے اتحاد کے لیے فوری کام شروع کر دیں اور او آئی سی جیسی اسلامی تنظیم کو اس انداز میں منظم کریں کہ دنیا میں اس کی آواز کو سنا جا سکے۔ اس سلسلے میں ترکی اور سعودی عرب جیسے برادر ممالک کے ساتھ مل کر امّہ کو درپیش مسائل کے حل کے لیے کوئی مشترکہ حکمت عملی طے کی جا سکتی ہے۔ امریکا اور یورپ کو ان حالات سے آگاہ کیا جائے جن کا پاکستان کو سامنا ہے مگر مغربی دنیا ان کو دیکھنے سے قاصر ہے۔ جہاد اور دہشت گردی کے درمیان فرق کو واضح کیا جائے ۔اس سلسلے میں ایسے سفارت کاروں کو اہم ذمہ داریاں سونپی جائیں جو پاکستان کے مفادات کو بہتر طریقے سے پیش کرنے کی سکت رکھتے ہوں نہ کہ دنیا سے وہ بات کریں جو طاقت ور قومیں سننا چاہیں۔ ہمیں دفاعی طور پر امریکا پر انحصار کو کم سے کم کرنے کے لیے بھی سوچ بچار کرنا ہو گا۔ اگر ہمیں خودمختار قوم کی طرح زندہ رہنا ہے تو پھر ہمیں دنیا سے بھیگ مانگنے کی بجائے اپنے وسائل پر بھروسا کرنا ہو گا، ٹیکس دینا ہوں گے، کاروباری حالات کی بہتری کے لیے پن بجلی اور گیس کے منصوبوں پر فوری کام کرنا ہو گا، دہشت گردی کے خاتمہ کے لیے شدت پسندوں سے بات کرنی ہو گی، اپنی زراعت کو جدید خطوط پر استوار کرنا ہو گا، کرپشن اور نااہل حکمرانی سے جان چھڑانا ہو گی،اپنی افرادی قوّت کو بیرونی دنیا کی ضروریات کے پیش نظر تربیت دینا ہو گی اور ایک مشکل مگر باعزّت راستے پر چلنے کی مکمل تیاری کرنی ہو گی جس کے لیے اب ہمارے پاس زیادہ وقت باقی نہیں۔ مگر یہ سب کچھ کرنے کے لیے صدر زرداری اور وزیر اعظم گیلانی کو بنیادی کردار ادا کرنا ہے۔ کیا ایبٹ آباد واقعہ پر امریکا کو مبارکباد دینے والے اور ریمنڈ ڈیوس کو امریکا کے حوالے کرنے والے زرداری اور گیلانی یہ سب کچھ کرنے کے لیے تیار ہوں گے؟ اگر نہیں تو پھر ہم کیا کریں۔ ذرا سوچیے

In past 30 years Nawaz Sharif has mastered the art of deception, he is now a pro at deceiving the masses. Nawaz has a clear goal in mind and that is his prime minister ship in 2013. He wants to rule Pakistan with a complete autonomy, where parliament and even judiciary are not able to hold him accountable as proven by his attacks on the judiciary. When he becomes the prime minister, it will be back to normal with Qarz Utaro, Mulk Sanawaro, sestay tractor, privatization scam. Where is the commission on Raymond Davis case? Where is the commission on Hudaybia Paper Mills scam, where is the commision on the flats and mansions he own in London which he transfered to his sons and now says they are nor his?
Why did he pay 5000 in taxes? And most of all, his Achilles heel is Saudi Arabia, would Pakistan be able to make a sovereign foreign policy under Nawaz Sharif’s rule without any interference from Saudi Arabia?
