Altaf bhai setting the tone against hypcrisy! Respect!!

It was a pleasant surprise to see MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain’s statement in relation to the treason case against General Pervez Musharraf. He has clearly spoken his mind that targeting General Pervez Musharraf alone is not just unconstitutional but also unjust calling it an act that “smacks of open injustice, oppression, prejudices and poisonous mentality working behind it.” he further said that  “If the treason case is to progress then it should be run against every individual who directly, indirectly, overtly or covertly supported General Pervez Musharraf including political and religious leaders, generals, judges, institution or institutions”.

It takes courage to speak out against hypocrisy and Altaf Hussain has surprised a lot of people of his clear stance on terrorism conducted by the Taliban and their proxies in Pakistan who support them as well as extremism that has targeted sects and minorities in the last few years. This statement of Altaf Hussain comes at a time when all those who benefited during the times of General Pervez Musharraf have been washing their hands clean for any involvement in the case of treason. Altaf Hussain and MQM remained a steadfast supporters of General Pervez Musharraf and his statement right now should open eyes of the people who only want to charge General Pervez Musharraf for treason in the November 3 Emergency and forget their involvement of the original sin of 1999!

Whatever General Pervez Musharraf did as a dictator is open to debate but by questioning the hypocrisy that rules our nation, Altaf Hussain has showed us a mirror. One only hopes that others also have the courage to speak up against injustice and oppression. It is also sad that General Pervez Musharraf will be targeted because he is an urdu speaking unlike the previous dictators who were holy cows because of their ethnic background than anything else.

Isolating Pervez Musharraf Only And Trying Him On Treason Charges Is Unconstitutional And Unjust – Altaf Hussain

If the treason case is to progress then it should be run against every individual who directly, indirectly, overtly or covertly supported General Pervez Musharraf
MQM Founder Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has stated that to isolate only former President General Pervez Musharraf and putting only him on trial is entirely unconstitutional and unjust. This act smacks of open injustice, oppression, prejudices and poisonous mentality working behind it. If the treason case is to progress then it should be run against every individual who directly, indirectly, overtly or covertly supported General Pervez Musharraf including political and religious leaders, generals, judges, institution or institutions. Mr Hussain expressed these views while talking to the leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain over the phone.
Welcoming the recent statement of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in relation to the treason case instituted against former President General Pervez Musharraf, Mr Hussain praised Ch. Shujaat for his courage and bravery for speaking the truth. Mr Hussain said that others must also shun their double-standards and ungratefulness and not only speak the truth but also support the truth.
Mr Hussain said that it is sad and unfortunate that people show ungratefulness and disloyalty towards those who they once fully supported, received privileges and ministries from – and now hurl abuses. He told Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain that you have courageously spoke the truth and proved that people of character are present even today.
Mr Hussain agreed to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s stance that running the treason case only and only against General Pervez Musharraf is wrong. Mr Hussain said that is unfortunate that today General Pervez Musharraf is being held solely responsible for all the ills and is being victimised. He said that the true spirit of justice demands that the treason case must not be run against one individual and he must not be victimised or discriminated against. He said that we must refrain from hatred, discrimination, oppression and injustice because such acts have led to the dismemberment of the country in the past.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain wholly agreed with Mr Hussain and said that unfortunately today we are surrounded by hypocrisy, hatred and discrimination, which has ruined the country. On this occasion both the leaders also asked of each others’ welfare and exchanged good wishes.
