Establishment’s new war – by Amjad Rashid
This is the latest style of foul-play that disgrace your opponent so much that you always win although your opponent plays right. This is surely negative thinking and it was highly condemned by the people in the pasts. But now it seems that people have become chicken hearted and the whole nation is looking like a coward group of people (harassed by the judge-general-journalist alliance).
We can observe this senseless theme in every aspect of our society from a small scale to large platform. As we see in Sialkot’s village Buttar, where 2 innocent brothers were killed by a senseless crowd of beasts, but it is not the bravery of crowd to kill innocent and weaponless young guys but indeed this is their coward behavior.
Nowadays, our coward nation is always silent on such occasions where a man having wealth and power teases a poor common man. In that situation, where there is need to speak for the right, we observe that our nation is always silent and people pass through like strangers. Not a single person has courage to only pay any sympathy with the trapped person.
There is an “establishment” everywhere in Pakistan, from a street or Mohallah to overall political scenario. This establishment, whether existing in any kind, always snatches the rights and opposes proper ideas of those people who try to bring an organization in the system.
Every Pakistani establishment targets those persons who are against the “dictators” of any setup in Pakistan, including a C class institute to Government of Pakistan. The “aim” of these establishment groups is single one “To stop the construction of a proper system” but it is other thing that names are changed of this aim time by time.
It is natural that every establishment owns great resources, man power, lands and capitals if we talk in terms of business, and we should talk about establishment in the terms of business as it is its business to oppose the right and to follow the wrong. It is also natural that the right consists of less man power, less resources and capital and less “approach”. High approaches are the special features of establishment.
Whenever a noble person elects as mere a counselor, the street & Mohalla establishment (which was union council establishments in previous 10 years) opposes that person and offers him “high static friction” according to the rules of Physics. If that person overcomes “high static friction” and starts to “roll” then the establishment changes its shape and offers “high rolling friction” to that person. We all know that how long a noble gentleman can fight? After some years the friction overcomes his performance and he is dismissed fromhis “public post”. If he has strong “back muscles” then he is teased in such a way that he thinks about “retirement”. This procedure is a “habit” of our coward society from small scales to larger ones.
But now, I am observing a little different situation on the political scene of Pakistan. Asif Ali Zardari is the heir of Bhutto Family who has martyred for their “crime” to give identity to poor and depressed people of Pakistan. In the villages of Pakistan especially in Punjabi villages, it is said by local landlords and Chaudharies that they will never support Pakistan People’s Party because it is the party of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who enabled the “Kammi” (the poor worker) to sit face to face with them on same chair level.
After the deaths of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, the establishment’s dream about the death of PPP has not come into reality. PPP has developed it into one of the best systematic party not only in Pakistan but in the world too. It has its vote bank in every area of Pakistan. It is the sole party which has the same magnitude in all provinces of Pakistan.
Now, it is basic rule of coward people that in the enmity of any system, they criticize and disgrace the head of that system. Same is happening; Asif Ali Zardari which was the hero of the media in 2004 and 2005, who was also declared “Mard-e-Hurr” by a legend journalist of Pakistan is now being disgraced by “high level establishment” only because he is the leader of PPP.
There is attack on attack and then further attacks on attacks on the government of PPP lead by Asif Ali Zardari but he is not irritating from these coward attacks. He is looking like a man of stone muscles as he is tackling every strategy of establishment and agencies. He is not thinking of retirement as some “sympathetic people” were expecting
that he would not be able to face the storm of attacks, and would offer his retirement from politics forever.
As the establishment members are mostly business men, so high inflations are being created by establishment to dishonor the government in front of poor people of Pakistan, which are owned by PPP. “Tonga Drivers” are trying to overtake “Garhi Khuda Bakhash Express” on the hollow basis of black money given by agencies which are always hatred for PPP.
Every sensible person knows that Judiciary has become a tool in establishment’s hand as usual. Media is in the hands of foreign anti Pakistan powers. Muslim League show has started once again. Nawaz Sharif, although has not merged in APML, but the reason only is that his greed of continuing Punjab’s rule is not allowing him to join hands with APML. It was the “exhibition play” of establishment to emerge PML-N in Punjab against PPP, although after the murder of Benazir Bhutto, every voter was casting for PPP. But same “exhibition play” has become a “trap” round the neck of establishment due to greed of Nawaz Sharif which I mentioned in above line. The other reason is also that Nawaz Sharif has habit to dictate alone the whole state. That’s why he is not accepting power share with Peer Pugara, Ch. Shujat Hussain, Altaf Hussain, Imran Khan, Munawar Hassan and Parvez Musharraf.
So it is my kind advice for establishment to please fulfill the appetite of Nawaz Sharif to rule like a Saudi King, only then they will be able to cross “Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Express”! But the favors of every cobbler, blacksmith, worker with less than 6,000 pay and every poor but hardworking worker of Pakistan is with “Garhi Khuda Bakhash Express”, so, in the “glass club” of Pakistani politics League, my logo is, Go! Go! Garhi Khuda Bakhash Express!

Prime Minister Gillani has shown his bravery today. He has proved to be true Syed. Clash will damage not only PPP but also media & tonga parties.
How General (R) Mirza Aslam Beg violated article 6 of 1973 Constitution? http://chagataikhan.blogspot.com/2009/09/how-general-r-mirza-aslam-beg-violated.html
After all these years the hollow and shallow Ex Servicemen Society and gentlemen mentioned below have damaged Pakistan beyond repair these damages cannot be undone only through apology. They should be tried for treason under Artcile 6 of 1973 Constitution and that is the only remedy. Have you noticed the height of arrogance and emptiness in our Praetorian Guards. Even after so much damage they are arrogant to the core.
As per 1973 Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan

(3) [Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament)] shall by law provide for the punishment of persons found guilty of high treason.
An accomplice is a person who actively participates in the commission of a crime, even though they take no part in the actual criminal offense.
Asghar Khan – former Air Chief Marshall of the Pakistan Air Force, Chairman of the Tehrik-e-Istaqlaal political party, and a man renowned for his integrity and clarity – vociferously denounces Pak Army and intelligence agencies’ interference in political process via distribution of cash to favored politicians. He explains how: (a) Army officers are obligated to obey only lawful commands of their superiors and should be prosecuted for bribery of politicians; (b) intelligence officials do not need a lawyer but only their conscience to decide which order are illegal; (c) there have never been any elections free from fraud since mid-70s; and (d) successive Pak governments have deliberately dragged ISI into domestic politics to suit their purpose. This interview was recorded in 2009 as part of “Policy Matters” program. REFERENCE:

“QUOTE”
How Aslam Beg damaged a nation By Shafqat Mahmood Friday, September 04, 2009
The history of this much abused country is being churned to let the scum rise to the top. And what nuggets of filth are floating up — military-made political parties, midnight jackals, cash for elections, Karachi operations, agency this and agency that. Is this the Pakistani version of a truth and reconciliation commission?
The ‘truth’ being dished out has more slants than a right-angle triangle and it is certainly not leading to any reconciliation. The million-dollar question is where all these worms crawled out of? Have they rolled down the presidency, as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) alleges or have they emerged from the irritable bowel of an over-active nine zero?
Whoever has unleashed them has no care for the ascetic discipline of the holy month because they make for a juicy and spicy fare. It is easy to choke on Brigadier Billa because he is truly unsavoury. But let us admit to a secret vice; he has stories to tell. And stories are interesting even if they come from the mouth of someone you would ideally like to see begging for mercy, hanging upside down a pole
The question of the month though is — and it has been asked often enough — let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I don’t see a mad rush for the quarries and the reason is simple. The elite of this country has much to seek forgiveness for. We are all sinners literally and metaphorically.
The politicians top the list because they flaunt their sins publicly or maybe we scrutinise them more fearlessly. They are vulnerable because their passion for fame and fortune makes them impatient. It is not a pleasure they want to defer and end up becoming easy targets for manipulators. The Hameed Guls and the Billas of this world thrive in this milieu. They have guns and cash.
While the politicians are more visible, their sins in the larger scheme of things are relatively innocent. They make money and are unprincipled but their impact on the nation is more through happenstance than design. The sins of some people in the military have been more sinister, more egregious and more damaging to the nation. It is they who need to be exposed.
In my reading of post-Zia history, there is no greater sinner than Aslam Beg. By his actions after Zia’s death and indeed throughout his tenure of office, he caused great harm to this nation. He did not let democracy settle, manipulated parties and politicians and corrupted them, brought governments down, indeed did everything he possibly could to create circumstances for his ascent to power. He failed but in the process, he hurt us badly.
It is easy to blame Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) because he had his share of sins but without Aslam Beg goading him on, much of what GIK did would not have happened. It was Beg who asked Hameed Gul to form the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI) and stop Benazir and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) from coming to power. When he could not stop it, it was he who led the media and dirty-tricks campaign to undermine it and bring it down.
Let us keep our biases aside for a minute, ladies and gentlemen. Whether we like Benazir Bhutto is not the issue here and more importantly, let us suspend our knowledge of what she did later. However, in 1988 she was not only the most popular leader in Pakistan but an international celebrity. She was an Aung San Suu Kyi like figure whose father had been murdered and who had suffered much hardship. There was not a hint of the taints that later followed her.
If Beg and his cohorts had been patriots, they would not have formed the IJI to stop her. Afterwards when she still made it to power, they would have seen her as an asset to Pakistan. They should have gone to her and said “Madam, you are inexperienced but we will help you run the government. Your international image is a great plus for the country and we want you to repair the damage to our global reputation after Zia’s draconian dictatorship.”
They did nothing of the sort. They started to sully her image and taint her reputation from day one. She indeed had her faults and made their task easier but she should have been guided. Instead, they launched operation midnight jackal, engineered a no-confidence move against her, got the MQM to take on the PPP in the streets of Karachi, thwarted the Pucca Qilla operation, which was leading to the capture of a huge cache arms stored by terrorists in Hyderabad, and then prevailed upon GIK to dismiss her government.
This not only hurt Pakistan but derailed democracy. Had a single civilian government completed its tenure and transfer of power taken place through constitutionally scheduled elections, we would have been on our way. But Beg would not allow this. It was not without purpose. His plan was to first destroy the reputation of Benazir, bring her government down, and then do the same to Nawaz Sharif. Once all politicians had been damaged, he thought, his ascent to power would become easy.
Consider this. After the Benazir government had been dismissed in 1990, he distributed money and did everything to make an IJI government come into power. Yet no sooner had Nawaz Sharif taken over, he was conspiring against him. I know this personally because I saw it happen before my eyes. Nawaz Sharif had taken over in perhaps October or November and by December, officers of military intelligence were making contact with the PPP to instigate it against the government.
Not only that, Beg deliberately started to undermine Nawaz by taking a position different from that of the government during the First Gulf War. His agents, largely serving military officers but also some of his friends, principally one Lahore-based businessman, started to goad the PPP to take on the Nawaz Sharif government through street power. The purpose was to create enough trouble to make it possible for Beg to take over.
Fortunately, for us, his time ran out and Ghulam Ishaq Khan trumped him by appointing a new army chief, two months before his term of office was to end. This was unprecedented and the only reason it was done was to make him a lame duck and thwart his ambition for power.
Beg left with much regret but a legacy of bitterness was created that tainted the entire decade of the 90s. Democracy could not settle after that. Benazir and the PPP eventually managed to bring Nawaz Sharif down through Ghulam Ishaq Khan and PML N paid the compliment back by launching various movements during Benazir’s second term in office. It then supported Farooq Leghari in the sacking of the second PPP government. This merry-go-round continued until Musharraf threw the whole lot out in 1999.
End of democracy phase one. A new phase has started. What will this bring?
Abdul Hafeez Pirzada a Mehran Bank Beneficiary [3 million Pak Rupees from Secret Fund] but it didn’t deter from lecturing the common Pakistanis about the Law, Constitution, PCO, NRO, Rule of Law, Supremacy of Judiciary over Parliament, Human Rights and above all Illegality of Martial Law – While giving argument during NRO Proccedings against the NRO, Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, said the innocent people of Pakistan have been robbed of their basic fundamental rights through misuse of NRO – And the very same Abdul Hafeez Pirzada had appeared from the side of persoanlist who had issued NRO i.e. General Pervez Musharraf. [Watch the Video Clips of Asghar Khan]
Of Chameleon i.e. Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, Judiciary & NRO.

People conveniently forget that the Lawyers Movement was basically a game to ease out Pakistan Army from the mess which was the creation General Pervez Musharraf and Military Establishment. CJ basically attained a lot from 2000 to 2007 [March to be precise]. I wonder how an Incommunicado CJ was issuing statement often published in The New York Times/Washington Post “during his days in Bastille” – [I still fail to understand that when CJ was sacked in March 2007, he and the press said the CJ is under house arrest and held incommunicado whereas the very next day Air Marshal [R] Asgher Khan “successfully” met him As per Daily Dawn dated March 12, 2007 Monday Safar 22, 1428 Sanctimonious Lawyers: Barrister Akram Sheikh & Mehran Bank Scandal http://chagataikhan.blogspot.com/2010/04/sanctimonious-lawyers-barrister-akram.html
Seasoned and Very Senior Civil Servant Roedad Khan had filed a petition against NRO whereas he himself is one of the Key Culprit in Mehran Bank Scandal – His secretariat colleague, General Rafaqat, is listed as having accepted ISI funds to do the job. So it should seem unlikely that the other secretariat members such as Roedad Khan, Ijlal Zaidi and Chaudhry Shaukat would not be in the know. (Oddly enough, when last month President General Pervez Musharraf met a band of ‘intellectuals’ with whom to discuss the coming elections, the strategy to be adopted, and the constitutional amendments, these four retired members of Ghulam Ishaq’s special assignment cell were amongst those summoned.). Shaheen Sehbai VS Roedad Khan (Ex – Civil Serpent). http://chagataikhan.blogspot.com/2009/11/shaheen-sehbai-vs-roedad-khan-ex-civil.html
Very well written but the party needs to be more organized to be effective.
Okay article. You have a good review on this matter and I’ll be subscribing to your feed and will hope you will post again soon on similar matters. But I am would like to know what your article sources for the article are? Thanks a lot.
