Pakistan’s Chief Justice receives a dubious award in London, lauds his fictitious role in restoring human rights

London, 28 May 2012: At a dubious ceremony in London in which Pakistan’s Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry awarded himself the International Jurist Award by the International Council of Jurists (ICJ), of which he is a vice chairman, CJ Chaudhry claimed that Pakistan’s Supreme Court (under his leadership) has played a major role in restoration of human rights in the country.
His tall claims notwithstanding, Supreme Court and lower courts under his leadership in the last several years have routinely released dangerous Jihadi-sectarian terrorists including but not limited to Qari Saifullah Akhtar, Hafiz Saeed, Malik Ishaq, Molvi Abdul Aziz (of Laal Masjid), Aurangzeb Farooqi etc.
His own cousin, Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister of his favourite party PML-N in the Punjab province, played a key role in the acquittal of Malik Ishaq of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (aka Sipah-e-Sahaba or Lashkar-e-Jhangvi) last year.
At the same time, CJ and his SCP have failed to take notice of ongoing Shia genocide and persecution and massacres of Baloch, Pashtun and other oppressed groups at the hands of Pakistan army and its various proxies. If by restoring human rights, he meant that he and his colleagues at the SCP and Lahore High Court have been safeguarding and promoting human rights of army generals, Jihadi-sectarian terrorists and Islamo-fascist politicians, then such claim may be wholeheartedly accepted.

لندن … چيف جسٹس پاکستان جسٹس افتخار محمد چوہدري نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان ميں انساني حقوق کي بحالي ميں سپريم کورٹ نے اہم کردار ادا کيا ہے. لندن ميں انٹرنيشنل کورٹ آف جيورسٹس کے افتتاحي اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے جسٹس افتخار محمد چوہدري کا کہنا تھا کہ 1973ء کے آئين ميں شہري آزادي اور انساني حقوق کو خصوصي اہميت دي گئي ہے، اگر ملک ميں کہيں بھي انساني حقوق پامال کيے جاتے ہيں تو ان کي حفاظت کي ضامن سپريم کورٹ ہے. ان کا کہنا تھا کہ سپريم کورٹ کے جوڈيشل ريويو کا اختيار استعمال کرنے سے ملک ميں جرائم ميں کمي واقع ہوئي ہے.

In view of CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry’s ongoing support to the military establishment and Islamo-fascist parties and militants, he has become most controversial and most detested Chief Justice in Pakistan’s history. He and his misogynist colleagues at the Supreme Court have routinely released criminals who have raped and kidnapped women. He has also encouraged forced conversion of Hindu and Christian women by forcing the kidnapped women to live with their kidnappers.
According to Pakistan Christian Post, Pakistanis in Britain boycotted the CJ of Pakistan award ceremony in London on forced conversion of Hindu girls case.

(Abbas Kassar) Sindhis living in UK including International Sindhi Women Organization and World Sindhi Congress has announced boycott of award ceremony which has been arranged in London to give award to chief justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muahammad Chowdhry on the grounds that chief justice Pakistan had handed over Hindu girl Rinkel Kumari Kumari two months back to a local politician Pir Mian Mithoo who had married her forcibly to one of his relatives after kidnapping her. The girl when presented before supreme court was crying to be handed to her parents and had loudly said that she was forcibly married to a Muslim boy but chief justice did not listen to her cries and handed her to Muslim boy who had kidnapped her on behest of MNA of ruling PPP Mian Mithoo and then married. It may be mentioned here that kidnapping Hindu girls and then marrying them to Muslims after forcible conversion is common in Sindh but neither government nor judiciary has taken any step to stop such atrocities with minorities in Pakistan.
Questions:
1. Is it ethical for a Chief Justice to receive award from an organization of which he himself is a vice chairman? Is it not an issue of conflict of interest?
2. Is not the Chief Justice aware of the fact that the so called International Court of Justice is an Indian NGO, presided by a man who visited Kargil to boost the morale of Indian soldiers against Pakistan?
3. Who paid for CJ’s trip to the UK? Who is taking care of his accommodation and other expenses?
Let’s hope the government and independent media (not the ISI’s Jinnah Institute) asks these questions.
According to Dawn: “Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan will act as Chief Justice of Pakistan during the absence of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, who is travelling abroad to receive the International Jurists Award, 2012, conferred on him by the International Council of Jurists for his contribution in the field of administration of justice.”
As a Pakistani citizen, I ask: Why did Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry leave his job to receive a dubious award by a dubious organization?
Government of Pakistan must not pay for his airfare and accommodation in London.
Instead, they must deduct his salary for illegal absences from work.

لندن کے مقامی ہوٹل میں ایک تقریب جاری تھی، تقریب میں پاکستان کے نامور عدل کی ٹھیکیدار جناب “چیپ” جسٹس افتخار چوہدری بھی موجود تھے۔”چیپ” جسٹس افتخار چوہدری کو بین الاقوامی جیورست ایوارڈ سے نوازہ جارہا تھا کہ اچانک ایک نوجوان کھڑا ہوکر احتجاج کرنے لگا۔ البتہ بہت سے لوگوں نے جو جمہوریت اور مساوات کا گانا گاتے رہتے تھے وہ اُس نوجوان کو خاموش کرواتے رہے مگر کہاں؟ جب خلق خدا جوش میں آجائے تو ظلم اور یزید پرست آمر خاموش ہوجاتے ہے۔
وہ نوجوان جو احتجاج کررہا تھا کوئی اور نہیں بلکہ پاکستان کا رہائشی نوجوان تھا جو اپنے ملک میں جاری شیعہ مسلمانوں کی نسل کے خلاف آواز حق بلند کررہا تھا مگر افسوس کے وہ نوجوان شاید بھول گیا کہ جب عدل دہشتگردی میں اُتر آئے تو پورے کے پورے باغ پر ڈاکا دال دیا جاتا ہے۔
نوجوان کے اندر جتنا دم تھا وہ بولتا گیا مگر باغ کے ڈاکو “خاموش ہوجاو” “باہر چلے جاو” جیسے الفاظ بکتے رہے۔ مگر کسی میں ہمت نا تھی کہ بولتے کہ “تم جھوٹ بولتے ہوں”شاید وہ بے حس افراد سمجھ نہیں پائے کہ خلق خدا بول اُٹھی اور اب “آواز دور تلک جائے گی”
نوجوان جو نعرے بلند کرتا رہا وہ کچھ یوں تھے کہ

Dear all I am Extremely sorry to see your comments and your details articles regarding Chief Justice Pakistan. as a Pakistan even to all Pakistan citizens he released that whats the roles of Law in Pakistan and what is constitutions of Pakistan and what s are our Right showed to us in Pakistan’s Constitution for us. Please note that he and two other and two other Judges whose remain for hearing a missing person case from long time which the WORLD most Long hearing. out of this judiciary in pakistan in the supreme court of pakistan there r a group of judges which is pretending that they have carried out judicial activism in pakistan.
infact, what is happening that few corrupt judges of supreme court of pakistan alongwith corrupt media and establishment have planned a strategy that they raise false and fictitious allegations on aperson and then after a long spell of allegations they had raised they send the cases to NAB and then NAB which is being controlled and monitored by the Supreme Court of Pakistan judicial activism judges threat them they are going to be held responsible for the contempt of court if they say that no case is made out. They ask NAB people to involve the people in criminal cases because they have refered the cases to NAB.
they are restraining NAB to independently hold inquiry and giving them short time and more cases so that truth should not be brought on record.
they are also responsible for voilation of human rights that is by twice prosecution of a person and also guilty for false and baseless prosecution of individuals. a case in this regard is Dewan Petroleunm case in which OGRA Authority implemented a high court decision on which a contempt petition was filed against three memebers of authority including the then chairman in which there was a scam of 52 billion was propagated widely. Supreme court after hearing the case dismissed the same and held that there is no case and respondents have shown their bonafide in respect of their actions.
since the allegations of 52 billion was widely published under a scheme and was infact an intrigue to defame the government and its officials therefore after becoming unsuccesful in its design the judicial activism judges in another case filed by an employee of ogra challenging the appointment of chairman held that allegation of 52 billion is very serious therefore NAB should hold an inquiry. since the allegation was false and infact role of ogra was limited to implementing the orders of a high court only and had no more role of their own.there were two parties that is Dewan Petroleum and Government of Pakistan and both never complained of any scam of this much amount. but to the utter surprise of the everyone supreme court without holding that any prima facie case exists decided that the allegation is very serious and refered the case to nab.
now we have to see what was the purpose of sending this case to nab where there was no evidence nor any complaint by any of serious party. the purpose was since supreme court had decided the case illegally and excessing its jurisdiction therefore fearing that they shall be exposed soon they refered the cas eto NAB and are now regularly monitoring the case so that NAB should make out atleast some case to justify their false position where they have voilated the human rights by double jeopardy which is a glaring voilation of the constitution of Pakistan and also misconduct by the jaali judicial activism judges. now who is there to ask them and hold accountable and what is the remedy available to citizens of Pakistan whose rights have been voilated by the honourable judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan
i shall write further on this issue that is judicial terrorism by the Supreme Court judges of Pakistan
i want to write a detailed letter with evidence to all organisations of law and human rights and expose these jaali judicial activism judges
