Shia Muslims continue to pay the price for Pakistan army’s policy of Strategic Depth
While Pakistan’s pro-military establishment media initially tried to misrepresent (by attributing it to an electric transformer blast) the latest terrorist attack on the Shia Muslims in Khanpur (Punjab) commemorating the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) grandson), it has now emerged that the latest atrocity was yet another terrorist attack.
While Pakistan’s “liberal” media went into overdrive over a fraud, few of them are moved about the latest mass murder of Shia Muslims. Aside from an odd token comment, they will quickly move on to the next topic.
Processions of Shia Muslims, who make up about 20% of Pakistan’s population, have often been attacked by militant Deobandi / Wahhabi groups who consider Shias as apostates of Islam. The Jihadi (Deobandi/Wahhabi) militants have deep ties with al-Qaida and Pakistani Taliban insurgents, and are known to have tacit support of Pakistan army and judiciary.
There was no claim of responsibility for Sunday’s attack but early suspicions focused on Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (also known as Ahle Sunnat Wal Jmaat group led by Ahmed Ludhianvi), a militant group with deep roots in the area. Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has claimed several of the worst attacks in Baluchistan, and last December took responsibility for an attack in the Afghan capital, Kabul, that killed at least 63 Shiite worshippers. The group’s main recruiting ground, however, has been in southern Punjab, and its leader, Malik Ishaq, is from Khanpur town. Mr. Ishaq was released from jail in July 2011 and spent several months under house arrest in the area, but is currently in a Lahore jail, Mr. Chatta, the police chief, said. (Source)

Deobandi/wahabi mosques, madrassas and militant groups openly declare in public that Shias are heretics, apostates and should be killed. There is nothing secret about those who commit these murders. SSP, LeL etc own their acts
Correction- LeJ (lashkar e Jhangvi) Chief of LeJ, Molana Ishaq was carried in a helicopter from Adiyala jail to GHQ to negotiate with terrorists. Later this mass murderer was released

رحيم يار خان کي تحصيل خانپور کٹورا ميں چہلم امام حسين ع کے جلوس ميں بم دھماکے سے 50 سے زائد افراد شہید اور 30 سے زائد زخمی ہوگئے ہیں۔ آر پي او بہاولپور عابد قادري نے غیر ذمہ داری کا مظاہرہ کرتے ہوئے پہلے دعویٰ کیا کہ دھماکا علم کے ہائي ٹينشن تاروں کے ٹکرانے سے ہوا اور يہ کوئي تخريب کاري نہيں، لیکن موبائل فون کی فوٹیج نے واضح کر دیا ہے کہ دھماکہ پہلے سے نصب کیے گئے بم کے باعث ہوا۔ ڈسٹرکٹ پوليس آفسير سہيل ظفر خان کے مطابق واقعہ کي تحقيقات جاري ہيں اور بم دھماکے کو خارج از مکان نہيں کہا جاسکتا۔ واقعے کے بعد لاشيں تحصيل ہيڈ کوارٹر اسپتال خانپور پہنچائي گئيں، جبکہ کئی ذخمیوں کو رحیمیار خان کے شیخ زائد اسپتال منتقل کر دیا گیا ہے۔
جلوس عزا میں شریک غلام عباس سے جب جاننے کی کوشش کی تو اُن کا کہنا تھا کہ وہ اس جلوس میں خود شریک تھے اور وہ اس وقت زخمی ہیں، انہوں نے بتایا کہ دھماکہ اتنا زور دار تھا کہ اس کی آواز بہت دور تک سنی گئی، انہوں نے بتایا کہ اس کے خاندان کے آٹھ سے زائد افراد اس واقعہ میں شہید ہوگئے ہیں، جبکہ وہ خود دھماکے کی اصل جگہ سے دو فرلانگ کے فاصلے پر کھڑے تھے، انہوں نے دعویٰ کیا کہ شہداء کی تعداد 50 سے زائد ہے جبکہ اسپتالوں میں رجسٹرد تعداد 18 ہے،
شیعہ تنظیم سے تعلق رکھنے والے غلام اصغر تقی کا کہنا تھا کہ واقعہ پری پلان تھا، اور پہلے سے بم نصب کیا گیا تھا۔ اُن کا کہنا تھا کہ پولیس نے اپنی ذمہ داری ادا نہیں کی، پولیس کی نفری نہ ہونے کے برابر تھی، اُن کا کہنا تھا کہ اس واقعہ کے تانے بانے سپاہ صحابہ کے دہشتگرد ملک اسحاق کی رہائی سے جا ملتے ہیں، انہوں نے کہا کہ رحیمار خان میں پچھلے پندرہ سالوں میں ایسا کوئی واقعہ پیش نہیں آیا مگر جیسے ہی دہشتگرد ملک اسحاق کو رہا کیا گیا تو یہاں کے حالات خراب ہونا شروع ہوگئے ہیں۔ اُن کا کہنا تھا کہ انہوں نے متعدد مرتبہ ڈی پی او کو اس جانب متوجہ کیا ہے لیکن کالعدم تنظیم کے نہ صرف جلسے جلوس ہوئے بلکہ سرگرمیاں میں بڑی تیزی سے اضافہ ہوا۔
اب تک کی اطلاعات کے مطابق 34 مومنین شہید اور 50 سے زائد زخمی ہے۔ شہید ہونے والوں میں سے چند کے نام درج زیل ہے
