Why do the Arabs choose Pakistan? A thought

(P.S. : All the observations presented below can either be made by observing the facts directly or by hitting the search engine)

There are many other countries from where Saudi Arabia and Bahrain can easily get cheaper, more feasible and more competent Jihadi raw material for it’s terrorism in state and for proxies in Syria and other Al-Qaeda hit countries, but it seems as their highest priority sticks to Pakistan. The question here is, why so? The best theory which fits in by the pro-establishment minded people is that Saudis and Pakistanis are brothers and etc etc. The second theory would just reject the fact that Saudis and Pakistanis are really close and Pakistan’s interests are multidimensional. The list just goes on and on but let us observe and admit things we can easily see happening in the masses. The same case may be valid when searching on why is the Pakistani population rapidly turning towards the Deobandi mindset and is rejecting peaceful Barelvi ideologies.

The religious history traces back to centuries but today, in a purely social view conforming to post-modern traditions even in Pakistan when there is an increasing awareness of all the issues, why is the phenomenon or progression missing? A complete overall view will sum up to the following observations :

-The elite classes and their strands in Pakistan are either directly involved, unaware or don’t care about the local situation. This is the same class from where bureaucrats and politicians usually come from.

-The victims from the middle classes are increasing referring to the crimes such as extortion and kidnapping.

-The working classes are producing much of the religious raw material used here in Pakistan.

Many questions and theories are revolving around elite and academic circles (to some extents even in the ‘slightly educated’ or ‘aware’ social groups but not all) and the popular one is that people are unemployed and uneducated, which is why they become a part of all the general criminal activities and the religiously motivated terrorism, but, it may be mere oversimplification of a broad idea.

There are two conclusions on which one can reach if a detailed study is conducted on this whole idea. The first one derives from a micro-level analysis of the masses. One doesn’t need to conduct a survey to observe this as it can all be observed under natural settings. Very common examples are betel leaf spits under the statement saying it is wrong to spit here. For people who have been to archaeological sites of Pakistan such as Chowkundi graveyard or Bhanbhore city in Sindh would know how people treat their national assets. Other examples will come under retrospection automatically. There are good people and bad people everywhere in the world, but there are more bad than good here in Pakistan. Simply put, Pakistanis have lost their morals (if they had them once). The theory that will suggest the cause of this as being simply the lack of education among the masses should recheck their findings in people commissioned on highly bureaucratic positions taking bribes for the work being done under their nose. In fact, the educated class loses it’s morals more quickly than the average Pakistani when given any authority. The classical theory that suggests poverty destroyed the masses should once visit Sri Lanka and see the masses there. The crime ratio is far less as compared to Pakistan, where the poverty levels are not as worse as in Sri Lanka. It’s more about morals than about education and poverty. This has gradually progressed and a spectator with a holistic view of the Pakistani society can easily say that it is a corrupt minded society.

This is the same reason why the Deobandi sect continues to become popular among people (even among some rich families belonging to a certain ethnicity). Because the strict and violent ideology ‘Deobandi-ism’ generally promotes, people automatically find themselves fit in that. The Deobandi hegemony succeeds because people accept it’s radical ideas and they accept it because of their radical nature which is aligned with the nature of the Deobandi ideology.

The external influences in promoting these ideologies are countless where the list starts from the establishment run by the Armed forces and then the whole chain proceeds.

This automatically brings Pakistanis into the Arab sight. Arabs choose Pakistanis because they are confident in their approach towards a similar mindset as theirs, just that the Arabs practically reject to conflict and evasion in the 21st century (because they don’t have much people of their own). This is the reason why Pakistan is a perfect candidate for all the potential future proxies that a radical Wahabi state may require. An objective moral standard that the whole nation would agree on has always been missing in Pakistan, where orthodox Deobandi mindset comes and makes the picture worse by either supporting the currently existing violent ideas or by presenting even more bizarre ideas, but, nevertheless, people conform to the belief system because they simply want to.

A secular Pakistan may be a way out, but it’s a very weak idea in Pakistan, hence, the only solution left in Pakistan is a radical attempt to destabilize and dominate the religious ideology here in Pakistan through  a rational channel.
