I pity the fool – by Riaz Malik Hajjaji
Pity the Nation which gives preference to the Constitution and law and NOT to the poetic license of our democratically elected judiciary.
Pity the Nation which critisizes the Chief Justice for recieving an award from an organization of which he is a current Vice President of
Pity the Nation whose journalists and scientists like Hoodbhoy advocate imperialist concepts such as Be-ghairati, rationalism and science
Pity the Nation whose liberal fascists attack the blessed Jinnah Institute report that advocates supporting Haqqani Network and Mullah Omar.
Pity the Nation where Bhutto Zardari Party (BZP) members cannot curse their party with choice abuses
Pity the Nation where liberal fascists talk about “across the board” accountability instead of limiting it to BZP elected politicians
Pity the Nation where some “liberal scum” dare to question the Supreme Court and its poetic license
Pity the Nation where Imtiaz Gul, Shuja Nawaz and Moeed Yousuf are critisized for presenting the poor military establishment’s POV to US think tanks
Pity the Nation which cannot make an expression of constipation and smugness whenever discussing BZP politicians
Pity the Nation which does not respect the democratic mandate of the elected Judiciary, the real representatives of the people
Pity the Nation where Pious Islamic Patriots like Malik Ishaq are dragged through the courts for such harmless fun
Pity the Nation which then cannot appreciate our Judiciary for releasing and protecting patriots and assets like Malik Ishaq, Hafiz Saeed, Maulana Abdul Aziz (Lal Masjid), Qari Saifullah Akhtar, Masood Azhar
Pity the Nation which elects proven Noreigas and Pablo Escobars like Qasim Gillani but which criticizes honest, anti-drug generals like General Fazle Haq, Gen. Abdul Rehman Akthar, General Zia ul Haq, General Hamid Gul
Pity the Nation which cannot appreciate His Holiness Highness Iftikhar Chaudhry and Poet Laureate-Cum-Supreme Court Justice Asif Saeed Khosa for proving, once again, that the Constitution is just a piece of paper and that real legal judgements are rooted in poetry and newspaper reports
Pity the Nation that labels anyone who apologizes, deflects, rationalizes and obfuscates in favour of the Taliban as “Taliban supporter and Taliban apologists”
To conclude, I quote the lines from the immortal warrior-poet character from the film Rocky 3 who goes by the name of Clubber Lang:
“I PITY THE FOOL” to describe the Nation that wants one man-one vote that has kept great Caliphs like Hazrat Imran Khan away from the PM house.

If Clubber Lang was real, he would have been the first to appreciate the poetry of Justice Khosa

With the fears of clash between the judiciary and executive in full swings, former Director General of the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) Tariq Khosa on Saturday, December 3, refused to run the one-man inquiry commission on memo scandal.
This comes after the Supreme Court had set up the commission on Thursday, and asked Tariq to head, as the chief of his faction of Pakistan Muslim League, Nawaz Sharif, had forcibly argued in the court to constitute an independent commission to investigate
the whole matter.
But soon after the decision, an angry press conference – hurriedly called by the Pakistan People’s Party, which leads the federal government too, raised serious questions about the neutrality of Khosa, and the logic of commission especially after when the
government had already setup a commission of its own in probing the memo scandal.
The People’s Party’s Information Secretary, Qamar Zaman Qaira, Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan, PPP chief whip in the National Assembly and Religious Affairs Minister Khurshid Shah, and adviser to the prime minister, Farooq Awan, a younger brother
of Senator Babar Awan, were also present at the press conference
Tariq Khosa remained controversial figure largely because he is the brother of one of the Supreme Court judges, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, and Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Khosa. All the same, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa is the son-in-law of Justice (reitired)
Nasim Hasan Shah, who had handed down judgement of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s execution in 1977.
It was in this regard that Babar Awan had said that the judicial history of the country was a witnessed that the PPP never got any justice; and the rulers of Punjab had always got a relief from the courts.
“The judicial history of the country is witness to the fact that PPP was never given justice, but at the same it has also become a known reality now that rulers of the Punjab have always got relief from the courts,” said Mr Awan.
