The forces of democracy and justice always triumph – by Saria Benazir

In an attempt to go through the reminiscences of an egalitarian process & the anguishes it met in Pakistan, one would perceptibly feel a profound scorn for many – including those, who vended the entire opulence , including the integrity of the state to the extremists – which was backed up by the establishment & its associates in the polity & judiciary of Pakistan, who not only used them for their mean & selfish ends, but also for promoting racism & radicalism amongst the members of the society. Who can clog their ogles to this astringent veracity? Aren’t they culpable for the wretchedness of the country?

Let’s rummage in the folios of our narration and endeavor to discern between the fraudulent anecdotes & the genuine facts, which lie buried under tones of sludge and emerge to be open to the disparagements of being dubious & unlocked to skepticism.

At the initial instant, it sounds pretty ludicrous to point out the blemishes of our intelligence agencies, yet, the present has given a Testament of the century & without any interrogations, the evidence wasn’t provided by the so – considered foes of the establishment, rather, by their ally intruders, who slithered onto the soil of the land and discovered a mass – murderer, but repeatedly, adding insult to the injuries of this system are the concerns about his presence in a military town of the state and an even huge mystery of the era cannot disregard the fact that he dwelled at an arm’s length from the Pakistan Military Academy, where all of these officials get the training. Bin Laden was not found, where the world had perceived – O! He too preferred deluxe, rather than the caves & this sumptuousness was provided by _________?

There remains a huge blank to fill! Without any misgiving, these developments go back to decades, when the seeds of it were sown by the worst dictator of all times, Zia ul Haq! Nevertheless, one cannot rebuff the pragmatism, with which he did that! – Not golden, but yes! Red fields remain the emblem of his triumph…

We are of course, not that parsimonious to disregard the efforts of our politicians as well – Yes! They do deserve a belle too for creating a bummer! Gaze at them & their brash over their scandalous demeanors, but yet! It’s not any new slur for them, as promoting the hatred is their bag & they never get brassed off for besetting the circumstances.

They have their own affluence associated with it. In the 1980s, the democratic regime of the earliest ever woman to become the head of a Muslim state, Benazir Bhutto was brought to a conclusion by their antagonistic move – The dealings of Nawaz Sharif with Osama Bin Laden, which resulted in the pouring of $50 million for a no – confidence vote against Benazir Bhutto, backed up with the conviction & assurance of Nawaz Sharif to his contemporary terrorist of laying the edifice of an Islamic state in factual terms.

They, to some extent proved their allegiance by targeting the women, Shiah Muslims and the minorities within the country and furthermore, straining the relationships between the neighbour country India by terrorist attacks there, making Pakistan the ferment for the Al Qaeda and other Sunni extremist groups; the funding for which was provided by Osama Bin Laden.

Assassination attempts were made on Benazir Bhutto, who was an emblem of a democratic Pakistan – an exemplar of women emancipation & a crest for tranquility & harmonious relations with the world, at large. One of such efforts that met with failure was made by Ramzi Yousaf, which, though met with a debacle, during the 1993 election campaign. The man was later also alleged to be involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the twin towers.

After the military coup by General Musharraf, there was no transformation in the policy – both, PML-N pro establishment & the dictators necessitate dollars, whether they’re from the US to combat the terrorists or from Bin laden to nourish them. And again, both Musharraf & Osama had tacit views for democracy, which was a threat to the clout of the dictator, and likewise, a peril to the security of the terrorist, who provided ultimate source to prolong his term as the President.

The stratagems, used were incredible, and do require a homage. The lingo is alike for all, NO DEMOCRACY! The world cannot under estimate their quest for it, after they attacked Benazir Bhutto on her return to Pakistan on October 18, 2007, but the doom altered & she survived to continue with her delusion of a Pakistan, free from despotism and extremism, until lastly, when she was assassinated on December 27, 2007.

The legacy survives – and ultimately, a democratic government, headed by the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari gave a lucid message to the humankind that the pure soil of this state would not be used for such purposes.

Though, met with obstructions on various grounds, the ambiance, which is crammed with the pro – establishment and pro – Jihad voices of the anchors hired by them remain to raise their jingles for the vengeance for the Arab blood and the interference in the security issues of the country, claiming it as an attack on the veneration of their conscious. But why couldn’t they eavesdrop the terrorist, who lived in their territory? Is the security & intelligence too feeble or naïve – Proves that they’re merely good at slaying the flag bearers of the PPP – Nothing Else! Those in the opposition remain to revile, as his capture has hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims….What a blot does it place of the facet of the name “Muslim”!

The Al Qaeda objected to this move by threatening President Asif Ali Zardari and vowing for the reprisal of the blood of their commander – o! What an attachment, the Al Qaeda, establishment & the media continue to progress with concord to shatter the democratic system, which stands as the main obstacle to the aspirations of the terrorists, PML –N, the PTI and the GEO. At times, I wonder what the noble cause, they are resisting for.

But again, President Zardari has urged to continue the war on terrorism. We’ve not yet won this war, but we now clearly can see the beginning of the end & the kind of South and Central Asia that lies in our future. We can become everything that al-Qaeda and the Taliban most fear -a vision of a modern Islamic future. We will not be intimidated. Pakistan has never been and never will be the hotbed of fanaticism that is often described by the media.

How true the words of Benazir Bhutto chime today “The forces of democracy & justice always triumph”.
